I jumped in the summer of 2017 and I still think of this day often! The staff and other jumpers were amazing to have this experience with, especially since I went all alone. I was very nervous, not only because of the jump but because I had no witnesses if something were to go wrong!!! It was ALL GOOD. BUYER BEWARE!! I only gave this one star because I didn't have the option of none! My husband d bought me a Groupon with this company for Christmas. I have been trying to book my jump with them for several months now. They don't answer their phone, but request you to text. Which I have done. When I finally got ahold of someone (Sam) in November, she booked me for a jump but then had me call a third party online reservation center to request the date. The night before I receive a text starring that the jump may be cancelled due to weather. Sure enough that Sunday morning I receive a call saying it was cancelled. He couldn't give me a reschedule date or offer anything. BUT, they used my Groupon, now showing that it has been redeemed. I contacted Groupon for a refund, no help there. So, I tried again to get anther date. I have called, text, and for the last week attempted to call and email the third party booking center, who only says they are waiting for a call back from the skydive center. My options now are to let the public know that this place is crooked and they are stealing from potential customers. I will continue to get a refund read more

My husband and I did our first tandem jumps yesterday and it was a Wonderful experience. We did encounter some scheduling problems from the scheduling company. However, once we made contact with the owner, Scott, he resolved things quickly and very professionally. Our jumpmaster, Bill, was amazing. I was a little apprehensive when the door on the plane opened, but he remained calm and helped me to take that initial leap. Once out the door of the plane, my fear was gone and everything was amazing. read more

My family and I skydived (skydove?) at this place on December 23, 2007, and over the next two months, had an absolutely horrible experience related to the jumps. I want to be totally honest in this review, and to give the operator the benefit of the doubt, will list the positives in advance. The overall reality is that we had a good time that day despite some significant problems, but the problems over the following 8 weeks were extremely irritating due to the awful attitude of the owner. Now - on to the good about the skydiving day: 1. The price is good for tandem skydiving. 2. The tandem partners were friendly and knowledgeable. The jumpers handled people of different nerve-levels well. 3. We did not schedule videos, but once we arrived, some wanted videos. Though this was going to lengthen the day, the staff worked to get it done. On to the negatives: 1: the plane we were to jump from arrived over two hours late. 2: the pilot seemed incompetent. One of our jumpers were told to jump over a mile off course so they landed in a field a mile away. The staff acted like this happened all the time with this pilot. 3: They had two tandem kits but they weren't getting a jumper ready while the plane was in the air, which led to a huge amount of down-time between jumps. This speaks to the incompetence of the owner. Now again - despite those problems, we had a good time, and as of that evening, I would have given this place probably three stars, maybe four. However, the real problems started soon after regarding the videos. We knew the owner was shutting down for Christmas, so we didn't get concerned when the videos didn't arrive for a couple of weeks. We started to wonder after three, and after four, we decided to call. My sister called four weeks to the day after our jump on a Sunday. The owner answered and when told of the problem, said he'd call the video guy and call my sister back. We did not receive a call back. On Wednesday, three days after the initial call, my other sister called the owner . There were several witnesses to this call. While my sister did make it be known that this situation had to be resolved, she was not rude. The owner replied that he had made a single call to the video person and had not received a call back. Somehow he felt that this was enough effort and that him letting us know his progress was unnecessary. This is unacceptable answer in my opinion, and my sister let him know she felt the same. He got angry and defensive before the call ended. The following day he called my first sister and left a vicious email complaining about us. On Friday, I called him and tried to calmly get the situation resolved . He had finally gotten ahold of the videographer and was having the videos remade. He complained that we hadn't called in until four weeks after the jump (frankly I thought it was polite of us to not complain immediately). He refused to estimate when the videos may be completed. He told me that if we wanted further correspondence, it would be via mail or email. I tried calling him back later and emailing to make sure he had the right address but he did not reply to either message. Several days later, we received two letters which he had sent on consecutive days. It appeared that the first letter was written prior to the angry phone call with my sister, and the second written afterwards. The first was fairly polite in which he essentially admitted they had probably been sent to the wrong address (what kind of a businessman sends $500 worth of merchandise through untrackable US Mail is beyond me). The second letter was vile. I am going to scan the letter in so you can see it, but for now, choice phrases included calling us the "Hitler Youth", "my job is to make you schedule changing little girls happy", and threatened to call the authorities because of our "threats" (to call the Better Business Bureau I guess). He also blamed us for the problem by requesting videos which allegedly caused schedule problems (not that we put a gun to his head and forced him to take our money, and note above the late plane, and the slow turnaround between jumps). Over the next couple of weeks, he was unresponsive to very civil emails by me. Finally about three weeks later, he emailed me that the videos were ready. Today we picked up the videos. The videos were good, so I give him that. Nonetheless, this was a disgusting experience and I hope noone who reads this review will visit this business. read more

I didn't even get to skydive. I Bought it as a gift for my girlfriend. The people are pretty unprofessional and the communication is terrible. I planned a month in advance and they canceled on me 30 minutes before my reservation as I was on my way there. How this place can run a business like the way they do is beyond me. Check the reviews on Facebook and BBB as well. Finding a positive review is tough. There are a few places to skydive in the metroplex. Pick the other ones. read more

I did my first tandem jump here in November 2006 and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and I felt comfortable the whole time. This is a small dropzone and seems like the kind of place where everybody knows each other. The scheduling seemed a bit chaotic, but now that I've visited other dropzones, I think it's just the way skydiving is -- you run on their time, not the other way around -- and it's all about the weather. If it's your first jump, I highly recommend a video. The jump and video prices were the lowest I found in this area. I've heard from other people that you should book directly with the owner, not a booking service, as the service will charge more. read more

Skydive Cowtown is horribly run business. First of all, we were supposed to jump at 2pm and were told by "Ben" that we had to fill out paperwork first and then do a quick training class before we made our jump and that would take approximately 30 minutes. We showed up at 1:30 and were greeted by crickets and trash. NOBODY was there. I called "Ben" at 2 and she told me that they were on the way and would be there in 10 minutes. I called back after 30 minutes and spoke to someone on Ben's phone and who made several excuses about having to meet with a banker and said something about a restaurant. Approximately 45 minutes later, "Ben" shows up with "Scott" and we were thinking we would get started immediately since it was around the 3 o clock mark. WRONG. We were entertained by watching "Ben", "Scott" and "Will" walk around an smoke cigarettes and who knows what else. When we spoke to "Ben" in person, she smelled like booze and appeared to have an obvious drug problem with Methamphetamine. We waited some more and finally after 4pm our family that came to watch us Skydive leaves. We confront Ben about it and she says "It can't be helped, because staff wasn't there. Last time I checked, I paid $259 bucks to Skydive here and the staff couldn't be bothered to even show up until well after 2 hours late? NOT ACCEPTABLE! We were on the verge of not even jumping here because most of the staff members looked like drug addicts and were thuggy looking. However a little after 4pm, three new staff members showed up and they looked much more decent then the others. They were the tandem jumpmasters and "Sam" was our jumpmaster. Sam was professional and did a good job. We had no complaints at all with him. Thanks for making my jump a good experience Sam and no hard feelings to you. Our experience here was not TOTALLY bad, just everything up until the point Sam and the other two guys showed up. After that, the training period was quick and effective and things got underway pretty quick. We will give Skydiving another go, but we will NOT be jumping with Skydive Cowtown next time. It should be noted that their facility has no running water, only one operable restroom which is an outhouse/portapotty and no classroom area. We had to fill out our paperwork on the hood of our car and after waiting in 98 degree weather for 3 hours, nobody had even offered us a drink of water or even a decent explanation as to why things took as long as they did. I have bought two tickets from groupon ! I scheduled one ticket for me to jump! Before I went to there , the boss called me and I missed the call! When I got there , he told me that the wind is so strong , we can't jump today !And I waited there for a while! The weather becomes better and he decided to fly. He then asked me for fill out some papers to signature !i wrote and paid $95 for video! Before we leave , the instructor who jumped with me found that I have allergic and suggested me not jump today because high pressure will cause me deaf! He told me that I should make a schedule another day ! I followed and the boss told me that I can come here to jump in any day of this year ! I followed the instruction and came back home! After I few days later , I sent msg to the boss! Because I am a little scared for I will become deaf if I jump. Because I am a student pilot . I inquired him if I can redeem! He said I am excused and will report to my school! He still text to me that my English is poor , I can't solo or get a medical certification to learn pilot here! I felt very angry I told I am not scared to be reported by him !after a few days later , I got two letters ! The means in the letter said that I cancelled my jump last time ,and no refundable! Today's weather is good, I think if no refundable I still willing to jump! So I decide to drive to there , and talk to the boss ! And the boss don't speak to me , he felt very angry with me asked me to leave immediately ! He call 911 , then I called 911 for help me! He don't allowed me to jump ! I feel very sad to this situation, last time the instructor wrote something to me to show my teacher about jump will hurt the ears! I felt very ridiculous about that he asked me to cancelled the jump and come make a schedule letter , but he didn't admit! I was cheated by this boss ! Purchased the tandem skydive in April 2015 for this place, I was amazed with the lack of responsiveness from this group, would leave VM's, texts with no response ever. When you did get someone on the phone and schedule a jump, the day of the appointment would come and the owner would call and say the jump was cancelled for today. This at first seemed reasonable, but after 9-10 times of rescheduling was convinced would never get to jump with this group. The nail hit the head when the owner did not even schedule the jump after a call when it was decided on the next jump date and time. When I asked him for a time in October he started telling me that maybe I gave him the wrong date and if I was a no show would be charged $100 for that. I was quite irritated at this point and expressed my irritation with the lack of follow through. I hope this is unique to me but sadly I don't believe it is. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I purchased a tandem sky dive through groupon. I was scheduled @ 11 am through parent company that handles the scheduling. The owner was absolutely disgustingly RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I called for better directions as there was a train stopped and the young lady who answered informs me that she has no jumps for the day. I let her know I have paper work with me confirming my jump. So then the "owner" calls me back and tells me that he doesn't have me scheduled and he can not find my name anywhere oh his list. And he blames the parent company for not communicating with him. He states he will mr be able to get me in. (After I drove an HOUR). I state that this was ridiculous as which point he becomes defensive and starts yelling and cussing and hangs up on me. How this man conducts business with such a horrible attitude is beyond me. After getting hung up on, I call the scheduling company and they inform me that they indeed contacted him and confirmed my appt. they record all their phone calls! I do not recommend this place to anyone! Disgusting customer service! The owner should be ashamed of himself for conducting himself in such a horrible manner! I got a groupon for my first dive but it didn't identify the skydive company in the groupon. You had to go through a third party web site to reserve the event. I received a confirmation and it had the company and their telephone number. I call the morning of the jump to check if everything was arranged and was informed that had not received any notification. They were accommodating to me and scheduled a jump a few hours later than the confirmation time. The owner, Ben, and the jump masters were great. They were fun, enthusiastic, and confidence inspiring. The jump itself was really fun, but there were a lot of negatives. First, it took over 3 hours after arriving to finally get on the plane. Some of the delays included not finding the keys to a tractor that was blocking the plane in the hanger, endless calls to the third party booker to straighten out another glitz for another party of jumpers that were there, waiting for another tandem jump master to show up, and waiting for the office manager to come. The plane and the facilities were old and worn. The condition of the plane reminded me of something you'd see with a native soldier of fortune in the amazon jungle. The engine worked however. There were other old planes and equipment scattered about the facility in various states of repair - like a junkyard. By far the worst aspect of the visit was the pilot, Scott Moore, who appeared unbalanced and disorganized. Not the kind of impression you hope to get from the guy you are putting your life in his hands. He rambled on about how bad and unfair things were, opinionated negatively, argumentative, gruff, and with a short fuse. If I hadn't driven an hour and a half to get here and paid for the jump already, I would have left. There a plenty of other skydive venues to chose. read more

He calmed all first time jumpers and provided step by step instructions. Only feedback for others, be sure to wear jeans or thick shorts. It was a wonderful experience! I went to there for graduation from college :) They really put your safety at the first place :) The staffs are friendly. When I got there, they told us the weather was too hot to handle it well. But I got to go since they said if the jumper is less than 169lbs. I paid the video + picture, but I told them have that the picture thing is not included. So, I don't have pictures. Beware! I gave a tandem jump to my wife for her birthday. She jumped on August 31st and had a great time! She was so looking forward to sharing the video that I purchased with her friends and family. However, it is now December 30th and still no video! I have been promised twice over the past 4 months that the video would be in the mail ASAP, yet still no video. If you want simply the skydiving experience, they do a good job. If you want a video of it to show your friends, you might choose another skydiving place. This one is not reliable!! read more

The jump itself was great! Had to reschedule several times because of weather...no big deal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE VIDEOS OR PICTURES! You will never see them! We jumped July 6th, 2014...It's the end of October 2014 and have never seen them! Have called 6-8 times and they have an excuse every time as to why they don't have them or can't find them or the classic..."those should be done this week". I have been skydiving in multiple locations. This place was by far the most unprofessional. The plane is old and uncomfortable and the harnesses are cheap and cut into your legs. The owner is rude and the woman who works the desk is even worse. But ok, you get what you pay for. What is not ok is that they took money from us to provide videos and then never provided them! That is stealing. My father, my daughter and I all communicated with the owner in failed attempts to get our videos. Nothing but lies, delays, and excuses. I would not recommend this place if you are planning to get videos and stills done. My sister went for skydiving with them. Skydive was a good experience and all the people were fun except the owner. After the skydive he said he can give us the raw video right now with no pictures, even if we paid for the whole video and stills package. When I denied for the same, he said it will take few weeks as he just got a new person to process and edit the videos and pictures in a different state and he has no idea about how to send the raw videos to that person. His coworker came in and told us in front of him that we will get our video and stills in 2 weeks, as they will be able to process it in-house. He agreed to it and we left happily thinking we will have the videos in 2 weeks. I called him after 2 weeks to check on my video and pics and he was very rude and told me that I am lying. He can not give me anything before 8 weeks. When I told him he agreed to his coworker words, he started arguing with me with his non-sense and then hung up on me. My suggestion would be not to go to this place and better have a good lifetime experience than what I dealt with. read more

Do NOT purchase a jump from this business! I can not express how unhappy I am with the treatment from this business. I purchased a skydiving, tandem jump for my sons graduation present. TWICE my son drove over 5 hours to come do his jump. Both times were cancelled by the owner an HOUR before we needed to leave to drive to Rhome, Texas. Both times, the owner was rude and did not try to accommodate us. I purchased a Groupon and he specifically told me, "Groupon is a third party company, he doesn't see the money from Groupon, and you are not a priority over our single jump, paying customers". I've spent a year trying to arrange my sons jump and now my Groupon is going to expire. Being told I am not a priority is unacceptable and bad business. Kevin V.'s review is spot on! We went on May 6, 2011 and had almost the exact same expierence. Except, we unforuntely ventured into the outhouse......big mistake!!!! Also, the staff were going in and out of "the office" drinking beer. We never got to jump and the next day they had equipment malfunctions so we were saved from jumping here again. While we were there waiting......over 3 hours before they told us we were not going to be able to jump, another group had come in. I was setup by SkyRide to have a solo jump with Cowtown on April, 2012. I called them about a mouth early. I wanted to jump on my birthday. And it was setup by a young lady working at Cowtown that I would come in on a Friday 1pm for 6hr of schooling the day before the jump. The Friday of the schooling. I was called by her to come in at 12pm. That they needed to start early. OK, So I took more time off work. I arrived at the house at noon and called them (no one home). She told me that they were running late, they had to get oil for the plane and to weight by the gate. They arrived about 12:45pm. The owner and I went to a small shack. Then, he asked me what I wanted. (I thought What!!) So I told him what I had setup with Skyride. He was not happy about 1-800-Sky-Ride. He told me that they (SkyRide) keep setting this up, and he had talked to them about it. That he didn't know how much I payed and that he was only going to give me a tandem jump that I could not make a solo jump with him. Ya, but SkyRide set me up with you. You must mean one tandem, then a solo jump, I said. No, He said, you have a closed mind. I do a good tandem, I have videos and everything, they have other pilots at the FAA in Arlington. This was said almost yelling at me. He then put some papers in front of me, told me to fill them out and then left. I thought about going up in the plane with him. No, I don't think so. I walked out after being treated so rued from the owner. This ruined my birthday. Two days later, I called him back to apologies to him for walking out. He just told me again that I had a closed mine and that he really didn't want to talk to me. All that's left is getting my money ($418.00) back from 1-800-Sky-Ride. No don't let these people ruin your good time. read more

If you choose to skydive with Skydive Cowtown DO NOT pay for the video and pictures. My wife bought the deal they were having on GROUPON, went here, and paid the extra for video and pictures. Months later she is still waiting to get anything from them. She has gone there in person and all she got was excuses the first time as to why they did not have anything for her. They told her it would be mailed and she should have it about a week later. Again nothing arrived. She went back there again to tell them she still did not receive anything and a guy that works there says that if they can't come up with video or pictures then she is out of luck. Also said there will not be a $140 refund for the video and pictures since on one of the pages she signed it says they are not responsible if the video or pictures can not be produced. Basically they scammed her for the extra money knowing they were not going to have video or pictures. I wonder how many people they have done this to. We will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

i dove in October of 2014 after it was kindof difficult to get an apt of the weather so not really their fault. when i dove they were nice and understanding of my many questions. when we dove it was fun but we landed a quarter of a mile away from the landing zone in a hard field, so i bruised my tailbone and it still hurts 3 months later. and i did t get picks bc of our off landing. what really pissed me off is that its 3 months later and i still dont have the video of my jump ($75) that was to be delivered in less than a week. ive been calling and no one answers. the voicemail is full so cant leave a message. call the other numbers and they are full too. i finally get someone to call me back after repeatedly calling them several times in a row and they tell me that calling over and over wont help and that he was trying to send a fax.... then hangs up on me..... pretty shitty business. read more

absolutely horrible customer service. scheduled for 1oclock jump. the person running the jump showed up at 5 oclock. the owner Scott assured us a 3-6 hour wait time was normal and that we were already informed of it. and offered no help whatsoever. the jump was fine. but afterwards. they decided to charge another $30 for being over 200 lbs. and took another half hour to figure out the video. speaking of videos. the safety video your supposed to watch and hour of training you get? it was the owner rolling around on a picnic table for 5 min. extremely informative. all that aside. the worst part was the owner Scott. who offered no apology. refund. or more importantly, explanation as for the 4 your wait. there was no accountability and he kept saying it was someone or some other company's fault. and when confronted with the questions while trying to get the video began yelling at me. absolutely not professional at all. terrible. terrible place to do business. all that said. please note that the pilot and jump master were extremely nice and professional. it's just a shame that the owner conducts himself and his business so poorly that I had to give them 1 star. read more

O stars....paid over 425 dollars for two tandom jumps...scheduled off of work for my birthday only to wake up to beautiful perfect weather. My jump was scheduled for 12 o clock . Placed a phone call to the owner only to find out they were not going to let us jump due to.... get this... not enough wind???? I then called other companies to ask about this wind situation and was told that it was absolutely BIZARRE...and made up....other companies in the area made several jumps the exact same day and time in the same area.........owner had an attitude and lacked any sort of professionalism....Runs his business similar to how a child would run it. The owner Scott has been terrible to work with...we were supposed to fly in 2 days which was our 6th reschedule due to cancellations on their end but we just received news of a death in our family so I called to reschedule and he advised he has to charge me $100 for rescheduling inside 72 hrs of the flight. I reminded him that they cancelled our original flight last October a day before the flight due to death of a coworker and they didnt pay us bor have we never agreed to any cancellation fee structure during our verbal appointment scheduling over the phone. At that point Scott refused to speak to me anymore and disconnected the call. My group prepaid $600 for our flights last year and when I texted him requesting a refund he replied non refundable in different sized text letters. This guy is shady and his wife Ben apparently has no power in the company cause every appointment she gauranteed fell through on their end. Skydive Cowtown is unprofessional and NOT TRUSTWORTHY.....TRY ANOTHER COMPANY AND DONT PREPAY!!!! read more

I've never found it necessary to write reviews. I don't believe that people will share the same opinion regardless of how similar the situation is. But this needed to be wrote. I purchased these coupons on Groupon. Thinking that I was about to experience a memorable life event, i scheduled my appointment. After them canceling several times for various reasons over the course of two months, the day came for us to go diving. I called an hour before my time to confirm it was still happening. No answer, twice. The voice mail said nothing of flights being cancelled for the day. They weren't there when we arrived at our scheduled time. I called them, and was told he was trying to gather up a flight crew. He shows up forty minutes late, and alone. He obviously can't be the pilot and my tandem partner! We called Groupon told them of the situation, and settled things out. We drove an hour in the opposite direction, walked into the #1 rated skydive place in the nation, and immediately got suited up. Honestly, it was more expensive, and absolutely worth every penny. If I'm going to jump out of a plane depending on the professionalism of the person strapped to me, it has to start long before we get in the plane! My landing, well that one was my fault. read more

I would not recommend Skydive Cowtown at all. My fiancé bought me a Groupon in December 2014. I tried to schedule my first appointment in March of 2015. The same day of my jump, I got a call that I needed to reschedule because of the "weather". So, I did. This happened between the months of March and June 4 different times. We finally scheduled it for October 11th at 10:00am. The night before, I got a message at 8:27pm from Ben saying "Hey Raquel, Ben here with Skydive Cowtown just wanted to give you a heads up for tomorrow. We have you on the schedule for 9:00 (which was wrong) however, our chief tandem instructor, yet again, just warned us his back is most likely not going to allow him to do any tandems... We have one of the other instructors scheduled to be there as well but unfortunately my having 1 instructor is going to set tomorrow back a great deal with only being able to fly half the schooled loads... At this pint you have 2 options, move your time to 1:00 or reschedule for another date please let me know as I am reaching out to you first with a long list of other people that are going to only get 1 option and that's to reschedule." I of course said the 1:00pm time slot. He replied to "make sure that I call and check on the weather and get good driving directions". I called this morning and the receptionist (who was VERY RUDE) said that it is windy and I probably won't be able to jump. I told her that this was now the 5th time I have had to reschedule and she said "don't you have a Groupon?" I replied with yes, and she said "well with Groupons, we don't see money until 3 months after you jump, so just go ahead and get a refund with Groupon". UHM, I don't want a refund I want to jump! I reached out to Groupon and they said that my Groupon has been redeemed!? We are now trying to work this out. This is THE WORST customer service EVER! I would NEVER recommend this company at all.
