WOW just WOW! My daughters booked the tandem skydive for February and this was rye scariest adventure that they had planned on partaking in! We prepaid and when the day arrived I was ALL THE NERVES! We arrived and they were alll nervous too . It's in northMarin county at the airport. Arrive , paperwork , video! Then Samuel one of the instructors arrives from his latest and he helps set the girls up in their gear . We order photos and videos etc etc Process is smooth and we literally see the guy roll the parachute back on the back pack. This is amazing too see. That's literally his only job but a very important job! We take lots of pics and videos and head outside . Lots of hugs and kisses and more hugs and kisses! The fam all watch on the deck as the girls head to the teeny plane and enter and head to their first skydive ! The plane takes off and I am praying praying praying ! We watch the plane as it flies up up away . Luckily it's a beautiful clear sunny day! The plane is now out of sight and we are patiently waiting . They travel up to 9000 feet and that's when the good fun begins! As we are looking in the horizon we get a nudge from the owner/manager and he says look UP! Just as we look they are free falling me finally the parachutes open .. phew!!! Big sigh of relief and the girls glide down and land safely ! This was the best feeling ever .. the are shuttled back to us .. truly a great day! Thank you SKYDIVE

There's a reason this place has five stars. It's because they are amazing in every way. There's an easy check in process then you sign forms and watch a video before suiting up to skydive. The instructors are full of energy and very friendly. They talk you through what'll happen in the air and make sure to ease any nerves you may have. It's a bit of a tight squeeze in the aircraft for two instructors and two students. You spend about 30 seconds free falling before releasing the parachute. The staff made sure everything ran smoothly and you can tell they really love what they do and try their best to make sure everyone has a fun time.

I was VERY nervous to go to this. I really got it for my fiancee and somehow got dragged along but thought I would be happy I did it after the fact. My fiancee went with Carson who went over instructions, got us prepped and ready beforehand. He did an amazing job answering all my (probably dumb) questions and made me feel pretty comfortable. We were also able to watch others jump and see them come back pretty stoked. I went with Joel who handled me extremely well being as nervous as I was. He made me feel very calm and as relaxed as I could be. I actually had a lot of fun doing it - something you'll never experience unless you do it! Afterward I felt a bit nauseous so I would recommend eating something (trail mix, protein bar, etc.) to avoid this. Definitely would recommend!

It was the best birthday gift! A perfect 10 is a better score for Wil and Mike. They gave us an experience beyond what we were expecting. My son and I did not even get scared. Talk about panoramic, spectacular views. What could be a better place to do it that here in one of the best weather, best location in the world! I went skydiving for my birthday last year Sep 2019. I did the tandem skydiving and it was my first time doing it. I was excited to get it off my bucket list! I had initially bought the video+ picture package online and my friend only got the skydive package, no pics or videos. Check in went well, there wasn't a long line or anything like that. We were strapped up quite easily. My friend's instructor(I think he's name was Jordan) gave my friend instructions after strapping him up. I on the other hand wasn't given any instructions after being strapped up. I guess my instuctor forgot or he figured I listened in to Jordan's instructions. No worries, I did ask my friend to go over the instructions with me. We both got on to the plane with our instructors. Since the plane is small, we both had to seat in between the legs of our instructors. This also helps the instructors hook us up to them. It was then that my instructor realized that he misplaced the camera. He panicked and was super stressed out. He asked us all if he had seen the camera, but we all last saw him with it when he got on the plane. After that, no one had seen it. We were already flying high so there was no way for him to get off and check if he dropped it on the ground. There goes my $120 package . I was super uncomfortable whenever he was looking for the camera. I was roughly handled. I kid you not I felt like a bag of potatoes being tossed about. I get he was stressed out, and I made it a point not to question about my refund at that moment because he was stressed out . That still didn't give him the ok, to toss me about. Jordan (friend's instructor) did try to get him to calm down and not stress out. He was definitely the professional one and friendly one. My instructor eventually calmed down and hooked me back to himself. I said a prayer in my heart. He eventually apologized for losing the camera and told me that I could talk to the receptionist about getting $40 back for the pics and videos I wasn't going to get. My instructor gave me instructions just before we jumped off the plane. Getting off the plane was scary but it was the best experience ever! I had a great time looking out on the landscape. It was breathtaking! I was definitely able to see the golden state bridge. I loved it! My instructor let me fly the parachute for a little bit. That was fun. My friend tOld me Jordan also let him do flips in the air with him and he loved it. When we got off the plane I talked to Mike the owner and he gave me a great deal. He personally strapped me up and was my instructor. My friend also got go up again with us and he decided to keep Jordan as his instructor coz he liked him. Mike took plenty of pics and my friend also got the picture package too. Mike was super nice and friendly and definitely made up the previous mishap. He gave us a little geographical history on the landscape. We're not locals, so we definitely appreciated it! I flew twice in one day and I would definitely recommend this place!

My boyfriend and I went skydiving here last weekend and had a 5 star experience. Jumping at 4 PM was absolutely stunning, especially because of how green the Bay is right now. It was definitely worth it to get the photos. Thank you, Mike, for coaching us through every step and sharing your passion for the sport. All around amazing experience. From the time we walked in to the time we left it was all good vibes, big smiles, and so much fun. Couldn't have asked for a better team to guide us through our first jump. Gotta say, Adam, my instructor, was super kind, fun, and listened when I said no spins!! Haha. DISCLAIMER: My experience may be different from yours. Sharing my experience on my first skydive. Hubby booked it here and I had an amazing experience! It wouldn't be possible without their crew! When you get there, you'll sign a 4 page consent. There will be waiting time of course depends on the day, just come on time. (I waited bec I came 1 hour early :D ). Then you'll get suited up, and instructions will be given. Then you guys will ride a small plane with your tandem, get buckled securely to your tandem at a certain point of the plane ride. Once you guys are high enough to jump, you and your tandem will scoot on the edge of the door of the plane to jump. Then jump off! My tandem was so calm (Sam, of course he's a professional jumper) and directed me of what to do. Smooth landing as well. Mike and the lady in the front desk made my wait easy. I can say they're a trust worthy skydive place. My in-laws saw my video and photos and were in awe that they wanted to do it too. Certainly I recommended them to Golden gate skydive! Just a TIP, once you jump, open your eyes and enjoy the view. And relax! read more

I have to start of by saying, if I could give them 10 stars I would! My instructor Rich was amazing! The experience was out of this world. Rich treated me like an old friend, talking about randomness...but of course the rules and correct procedures of skydiving. I'm going back for sure!! I brought my brother and sister here to celebrate my brothers birthday. Neither of them had gone before and the team at skydive golden gate could not have done any better in making them feel comfortable, safe and excited! We had an amazing experience, one we will never forget. Our photos and videos were awesome! The vibe and energy was top notch. So happy I brought them here, we were taken care of 100%. It was such an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly and I love the overall vibes. It was so cool to see all the views of the bay. For this year when I turned 70, first I went to the Great Barrier Reef in Jan, The World Cup in July, and for a finale - did my first skydive over beautiful SF Bay Area with Skydive Golden State. Michael was so kind as to allow me to postpone my first appointment because of the terrible smog from the tragic Camp Fire, then re-booked me on the first clear blue sky today - Nov 25th. It was still quite an experience of a lifetime to be free-falling for 30 seconds from 14,000 feet down, with fresh cool air rushing through your body, and the earth coming up to you at high speed. I had full trust on my jump instructor Robbie since he actually looked like Bruce Willis in the "Die Hard" movies, and he expertly guided us once the parachute opened until we landed on the ground. I highly recommend you go with Golden Gate if you want to skydive, for me I am surely going to do it again when I turn 80, following the footstep of George Bush Sr. :) read more

This is probably the greatest physical activity I've ever done in my life. First, check out my profile- I almost never leave Yelp reviews- 6 in the past several years total. But I had to leave a review for this company- I don't know how else to make it known that my experience at Skydive Golden Gate was so phenomenal, words can't even do it justice. But I'll try my best! This was my first jump. It was my birthday, and I came with a group of 3 of my friends. Even though it was my idea, I was nervous, and I have (correction, HAD) a fear of heights. My instructor was absolutely incredible. I feel terrible that I forgot his name, but I think it was Sean. Short-haired guy from Tennessee. Absolutely awesome, had a lot of great energy, joked around a bit, chatted me up, and kept me encouraged and eased my nervousness a whole lot. The actual jump- oh my god. It's not even worth trying to type out what it's like. It's the moss blissful thing I've ever done in my life. It's the most exhilarating thing I've ever done, and I will 100% be coming back to Skydive Golden Gate to do it again. It's such a beautiful experience. It's all I can think about now. I will say this- if you think you'll be afraid, or pass out or anything- trust me, you won't. You will be too in-the-moment to have any fear at all. As soon as you leave the plane, the fear is instantly gone. It's the weirdest and most amazing sensation ever. If you're trying to decide, just do it! Tip: pay the extra few bucks to go up to a higher altitude. It's so worth it. Also, if it's your first time, ABSOLUTELY get the picture and video combo package- they do an absolutely fantastic job of documenting the entire process, from when you first get harnessed up, to walking to the plane, doing little interviews, the jump, the landing, everything. Then they edit it beautifully. I'm absolutely hooked now, and will be coming back. Thank you tons, Skydive Golden Gate, for giving me one of the best experiences of my life! read more

So for a while now, I had been wanting to skydive but kept pushing it back because I have a herniated disc. Long story short, about 2 weeks ago I was browsing online and I came across Skydive Golden Gate. After looking into what they offered, I said to hell with it! Called my friend asked her if she wanted to join and next thing we know we're jumping off the plane with Mike and Rich! By far the best experience I have ever had in my life!! Especially for being my first time (extra bonus points)!! The whole staff was super friendly and just spot on freaking awesome: Mike, Rich, Robby, and Ted! If u want to skydive for the first time or simply want to do it again (cuz why not?!), go to Skydive Golden Gate! U won't regret it!! Michael could not have been more flexible. Needed to change our date/time three times. He managed each almost immediately with no issues. Had a blast jumping with William on the perfect day. Incredible views of Sonoma, Napa, and Marin. Fogging coming in from the west with an epic SF skyline in the distance. Never plan on jumping anywhere else. read more

My boyfriend was very nervous because for starters hes never been on a plane and hes scared of heights LOL but the crew was very friendly and explained everything from the plane ride to the jumping and to the landing. Very poor customer service. I made a reservation to do a tandem SkyDive for 2 people, but ended up needing to cancel the reservation. As I wasn't able to cancel my reservation online, I called instead to do so. Whomever answered the phone was extremely rude and had an attitude with me for no reason. I mentioned that I needed to cancel the reservation, and this guy asked me "for which date and time?" I told him the date and time and he replied, "so am I just supposed to just guess what your name is for that date and time?" And I was shocked. As I told him, he didn't ask me for my name to begin with and specifically asked me for a date and time so the attitude was not needed, and he responded again, "so still no name?" So I gave him my name and let him know that his attitude was not needed and I hung up. Not sure why people feel the need to treat people horribly just because they are unhappy. I'm glad I found SkyDive Sacramento where they are much friendlier and know how to treat their customers. After my first interaction with this Company, I will not ever consider being a customer here. I will gladly take my hard earned $$ elsewhere! read more

Going skydiving is kind of a big deal; you're jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. It was on the top of my bucket list for as long as I could remember. I went to college in the North Bay, and this was my graduation present to myself. I wanted to find a reputable, SAFE, and beautiful place to do my jump. Skydive golden gate is a fantastic place to jump From previous experience jumping in New Zealand, I can honestly say that skydiving so close to San Francisco is just as breath taking. The jumpers are very experienced and I never felt unsafe. Just talking to the guys in the office is enough to make any novice jumper feel secure about jumping out of a plane. The owner answered all my questions and was very patient with me. read more

Wow!! What a great experience. My wife and I were traveling on our honeymoon and never dived before. Therefore both of us were fairly nervous. Mike (the owner) was incredible. He made us very comfortable and couldn't have shown us a better time. His professionalism was 1st class. Mike has nearly 20 years of experience and over 18K jumps. Needless to say we were in good hands. Equipment used was excellent. The video and pictures Mike was able to capture were awesome. Highly highly highly recommend Skydive Golden Gate if you are looking for a great experience. Thank you Mike!!! read more

Closest place to San Francisco for sky diving. What a great spot!!! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was so clear. Could see the entire city, Golden Gate Bridge and Bay from the jump site. Very professional. The dive also includes a mini plane tour over the city and back before you jump. Would totally recommend this place! read more

I've been skydiving a few times in my 55 years, but for this special occasion (my son's 18th birthday), I chose Golden Gate and was thrilled. The difference between Golden Gate and other companies is definitely the view. Yes, of course, they are professional and safe and fun...but to see the bridge (many bridges actually) and the ocean and the city all at once was truly awesome! Skydive Golden Gate is a relatively new parachute center but there is no doubt in my mind that it's the BEST spot to throw yourself out of a plane in the SF Bay Area. The staff is friendly, timely, and extremely knowledgeable... the owner mike has over 20,000 jumps and counting! I still can't get over the view, YOU CAN SEE THE ENTIRE BAY!!!! There no other dropzone in California that has that view, no matter what their name might try to claim. Next time I have to take my grandma skydiving I'm taking her to Skydive Golden Gate! read more

Hi Diana! We love groups of 8, but our plane is only big enough for two at a time. We do move through a large group pretty quickly and it gives you a chance to watch the others jump and land which is pretty fun!

We arrived at the pickup spot around 5:15 AM (15 minutes before takeoff), and the location was easy to find with effortless parking. There were also two staff members outside lighting the way to avoid any confusion. Once we checked in, we were told to head upstairs where they had a self-service setup of snacks, water, coffee, and even Irish whiskey. We were then brought outside and split into two groups. They mentioned they used the weights we provided in our forms to evenly distribute the weight for the baskets. We got to watch the balloons get blown up, and once we were all helped inside, a worker took pictures of us with our families. We then took off and enjoyed breathtaking views for about an hour. Our balloon pilot was so great. He pointed out a ton of interesting landmarks, told us all about his own ballooning journey, and kept us informed about our altitude and direction. A massive plus for our family was that our guide also spoke Spanish and chatted with my parents the entire time, making sure they felt completely included in the experience. Once our tour was over, we prepared for landing and were told the safest position to take (back against the basket wall while maintaining a squat posture). After a smooth landing, we were guided to a van and brought back to our pickup location. We ended the morning with a complimentary glass of champagne. I definitely recommend this for a fun/unique family experience.

Overall, I'd give Sonoma Balloon a solid experience, but probably not one I'd book again…read more The booking process was easy, communication was clear, and everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly. The ground crew and pilots were professional, welcoming, and made everyone feel comfortable. The balloon itself was beautiful, and the flight was very smooth and peaceful. My biggest disappointment was that the experience wasn't quite what I expected. You're instructed to arrive at one location, only to be told you'll be shuttled about 15 minutes to another launch site, but we ended up driving another 45 to 50 minutes to Winters before even getting in the balloon. The flight itself was around 40 minutes, but instead of floating over Sonoma's vineyards, we spent the majority of the time over farmland. After landing, there was another 45 to 50 minute shuttle ride back. At the end of the flight, they offer a champagne toast, which is a nice touch, but it felt a little unorganized. Everyone was standing around waiting for the pilot to pour champagne rather than it feeling like a celebratory ending to the experience. None of this takes away from how kind the staff were or how enjoyable the actual balloon ride was. If you're looking simply to experience hot air ballooning, you'll likely have a great time. If you're specifically hoping to soar over Sonoma's famous vineyards, I'd recommend asking detailed questions about the launch location and typical flight path before booking. It was a fun experience, and I'm glad I did it once. For me, though, it isn't something I'd book again.

They give you your itinerary and you sign a waiver , and the. You meet your pilot. They drove us in their vans to the take off point which was off the train track. See the video, it was amazing. I was worried that the wind might be to much fir the too lift off, but they said if they can't, they have alternative locations. Once we got I'm the air it was very smooth and very relaxing. There we about 20 people in our basket. Not alot of room, but keep in mind your not going to move around in the balloon basket . We rose up in the ir and went where the wind took us. After our pilot explained everything to us we were confident he knew what he was doing . He even took us inside a hillside where we were able to get close to some trees . Landing was pretty smooth. They picked up up with their vans and drive us back. And this is where it goes from 4 stars to 5. We purchase the champagne package which I highly recommend. We got to share a bottle of champagne with our pilot and he told us all about the first hot air ballon, which was way before airplanes , and explained to us where the name Pilot came from. A hot air balloon ride and wow, what an experience! The views were absolutely breathtaking. Floating high above the landscape, seeing everything from a completely new perspective, was truly magical. The sunrise was especially beautiful as we drifted along, and the silence up there, broken only by the loud occasional burst of the burner, was unlike anything I've ever experienced. That said, there were a few things to consider. The heat from the burner can be overwhelming, especially if you're not prepared for it. I didn't wear a hat, and I really wish I had and i am short 5'2 those blasts of hot air can get pretty intense when they hit you directly! So, if you're planning this trip, definitely bring something to cover your head. The landing was a bit of a wild ride, too. The ground was much harder and more uneven than I expected, and we didn't quite know where we'd land until we were almost on top of it. Also getting in and out can be extremely challenging. It's hard climbing into and out of the basket and it's very tightly packed. Not a lot of space to move. I knew the risks going in but the whole experience was so worth it. Even with those little surprises, it was absolutely incredible. Would I do it again? Definitely not! Despite the heat and the bumpy landing, the beauty of the experience makes it all worthwhile and a one timer for me. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something unique and unforgettable to add to your list of adventures. Just don't forget your hat!

When picking a school most important to me was safety, in which Penguin excels. Their equipment is modern and well maintained (in fact Mike is a local authority on equipment configuration and maintenance). There is always at most a few students per instructor so they can make sure everyone gets the attention they need. They never hesitate to modify or cancel class if unsafe conditions exist. Like most people I don't have a very flexible schedule so the convenience of Penguin holding classes every day except during scheduled closures is the only way I could have ever achieved my P2. It also shows the passion that the instructors have for teaching as well as paragliding. The education and support you get is comprehensive: skills, theory, site etiquette, help purchasing and maintaining your gear... everything you need to feel confident you'll be able to continue to fly after graduating. There is a strong emphasis on including you in the Penguin community. After graduating you will always have people to fly with, to practice with, and to ask for advice. This is important because for safety reasons you shouldn't paraglide alone. Finally I want to say something about paragliding itself. It is the most minimalist and elegant way to fly. There are no engines, lines, airports, tickets, etc. You just hike to the top of a hill, pull your wing out of your backpack, and fly like a bird. It's one of the most exhilarating and freeing experiences I have ever had.

This is a great place for birdwatching with lots of ducks, geese, swans, herons and others swimming in the marsh. At about a mile and a half in you can turn around and go back the way you came or take a loop taking you along Atherton Boulevard where parts of the path are adorned with irises, oleander, and lavender. Both of these are around 3 miles. For something longer you can add the Bahia loop which is another 4.5 miles. I usually prefer a loop to an out and back hike, however here I rather do out and back since I prefer be closer to the water than a street with cars going by.

Years ago we started at the trailhead alongside Highway 101, now we drive down Atherton and turn on Bugeia Lane (which turns into Bahia Drive). Park at the trail head and take the Bahia Loop trail. There are trails all over the preserve but our favorite is a 6-mile out and back. The first part you drive through the hills fronting the Petaluma River Wetlands. There is some up and down but not extreme, but watch for hikers and horses (we always stop for horses and ask to pass). It's a single track that's fun to ride, beware of poison oak that creeps over the trail in Spring and summer. The 2nd part of the ride is on a fire road - you make your way up and overview the marshlands. We take the fire road and turn around at the wooden bridge. It's very common to see flocks of ducks, egrets and even pelicans here. A fun ride (or hike) out in nature.

Skydive Golden Gate in Novato, CA provided me with an unforgettable experience that I simply must share! From start to finish, everything about my skydiving adventure was top-notch. I jumped from 10,000 feet, and it was nothing short of exhilarating. My instructor, Gustavo, was incredible. He made sure I felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. Knowing that this was Gustavo's 5,190th tandem skydive gave me an extra layer of confidence. His expertise and calm demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. The pilot, Johan, was equally amazing. His skillful handling of the plane and his friendly attitude added to the overall excitement of the jump. The views from the plane were breathtaking, and Johan made sure we had the best experience possible. Tyler, the staff member who coordinates the skydive, was fantastic as well. He was organized, professional, and had a great sense of humor, which helped ease any pre-jump jitters. If you are a thrill seeker or simply like seeing breathtaking views of San Francisco and the Wine Country at a whole new level, then Skydive Golden Gate is your ticket! First of all, safety starts with "S" but begins with well...the super friendly, extremely professional, SME (Subject Matter Experts) that run this organization. The staff greeted me and my small group with a friendly welcome and made the entire experience one we will never forget. The staff explained everything including safety, free fall, parachute deployment, to the adrenaline rush of jumping out of a flying airplane! The entire time we felt in control except for the ear to ear smiles each and every one of us had on our faces. Way too much fun and we are looking forward to our next jump! I was ready to lose my fears and go skydiving! Skydive Golden Gate was highly recommended to me by one of my friends. So I did my first jump at Skydive Golden Gate, the perfect views! It was the most amazing experience! The staff was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly! They were patient and accommodating with the customers and made you feel at ease, joking and engaging. The pictures and videos were awesome! I loved the before and after interview with the Tandem Instructor! He was great! The Owner and all were very well in tuned with what they do. terrible experience. Only one star because ...they SPLIT US UP...and took us 1by1 ....who does that? I wanted to skydive with my partner that was the whole point ...the only San Francisco City view we had was on the drive here..FALSE ADVERTISING ...freefall was only 10 seconds ....they only took us to MAYBE? 6000 ft ...landings were really rough.. My hubby severly bruised his butt/tailbone when they landed on his a$$...(weeks after the experience he still is in pain when sitting at work) on my first jump in Australia we stood up the landing. Jump Instructor had lots of experience but did not seem to care much that landing war painful. Not good! read more

This was the best skydive experience I could have imgined...and I was pretty terrified! The owner / instructor, Mikey, is extremely knowledgable (he's done over 20,000 jumps!!!) and he made us feel super safe and comfortable throughout the whole experience. The plane and quipment were in great condition and the booking process was very smooth. The view though...that's worth every penny. You can see the whole Bay! Flew in from Florida to san francisco for the main purpose of skydiving with a beautiful view. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and signed the waivers, the entire staff was nothing short of AMAZING, the night before I was really nervous but everyone made it so much easier to get over my fear and I cannot wait to do it again thanks to the skydive golden gate staff! This is the place to go if you want an experience of a lifetime!! You will want to jump again after you land!...I know I wanted to after I did my first jump! Mike's knowledge and professionalism instilled confidence in my knowing that my first jump not only would be exciting, but safe as well! What an incredible experience !! Jumping out of the airplane was by far the coolest thing I've ever done in my life, so different from everything else I've experienced.. Had one of the most amazing experinces ive ever had. The ride up was not only smooth but the veiw was amazing. The people are very nice. I even got to fly the paracute on the way down. Would recommend for anyone, even if you are afraid of heights read more
