I watched my child age two years, cycle through the five stages of grief, and nearly de-evolve into a feral state before Buzz Lightyear finally graced the screen. Cinema executives constantly wring their hands in the media, crying, "Why are theaters dying? Why is streaming killing us?" Allow me to solve the mystery: We are paying premium ticket and concession prices just to be forced to sit through a half-hour infomercial marathon before the product we actually paid for begins.
