Though this was my first jump, my jumpmaster Christian talked me through and made me feel relaxed. Loved the view from the above. The first part, free fall, was terrifying at the beginning because of the cold wind at higher altitude but the parachute part was amazing. Christian also let me steer the parachute. One suggestion is to help reduce the wait time. We reached there around 8:30 am and left around 2:00 pm. The supporting staff at the counters were very approachable. The video came out awesome! But I would not recommend booking it in the summer, we have rescheduled the appointment twice and waited for a long time today due to the cloudy weather. Went for my first jump at 18k, Etienne was my jumpmaster and it was such an incredible experience. I might have stumbled a bit getting out of the plane before the jump but I can say for certainty that I was not afraid I was strapped to someone who I felt safe with. What an incredible way to start your day! My friends and I decided to run with the 18k jump and loved every second of it. The Skydive Monterey Bay staff is exceptionally welcoming and fun to be around. The weather prevented us from jumping the first time we visited, but we lucked out the second time around with beautiful blue skies so be prepared for that Monterey weather! I jumped with Ronaldo who was nothing short of amazing! Very thorough and made sure I was 100% comfortable every step of the way. Highly recommend getting the full video/photo package to preserve the excitement of your jump -- especially if it's your first one. All of the equipment from safety gear to videography was top notch. Best part is you get a wonderful view of Monterey Bay. I'm hooked. Already looking into how I can fit in getting my solo diving license. Wanted to echo a few things I read in the reviews --- #1 rule is be prepared to wait! There is a foosball table, magazines, and some channels on their TV, however you may be there for a few hours waiting for the clouds to clear. It's a bit chilly in the warehouse, as well. They have some blankets, yet I highly recommend bringing some warmer gear for the wait. Also if you're getting photo/video, I was told to try wearing bright clothing. Most of the staff shirts are navy or black so you definitely stand out! Finally make sure to bring some cash to tip your jump master! While everyone has their own opinions on tipping, thought I would mention it since we ended up running over to an ATM post-jump and circling back. Thanks for an awesome time, Skydive Monterey Bay! Skydiving at Skydive Monterey Bay was an exhilarating experience. I was the first to dive, everything happened so quickly and I was flushed with so many emotions. This place offers a 18K dive which gives you extra 30s to stay mid air and experience the feeling of letting go. I was literally speechless when I landed - I would highly highly recommend skydiving here - they care of rescheduling if the weather is bad and also have a Groupon available which knocks a couple bucks off the total cost. My instructor Joseph was super nice and funny, he guided me pretty well and I had a great first time. This was such an amazing experience! I called ahead with a list of questions and concerns and Jackie was super helpful, thorough and professional. Everyone at check-in was just as friendly and helpful. There are coin-operated lockers and vending machines; bring quarters or they'll make change for you at the desk. Stay hydrated and be sure to eat breakfast! I booked a 10:30 jump on a Monday. After filling out forms and signing waivers, waiting for the cloud coverage to clear up, training probably started around 12? 12:30? I really don't know, I put my phone in the locker and didn't keep track of time. I came alone and had fun chatting with the pilot and other jumpers while waiting. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I could not have asked for a better jumpmaster than Brent. He gave very clear instructions and when I had more questions and concerns, he alleviated all of those. Jackie was a perfect videographer who also chatted with me in the hangar about any fears I had after the instructions. Once we got on the plane, Brent continued to talk me through everything as well as making small talk that helped clear my mind. By the time it was my turn to jump, I was so excited and didn't feel any apprehension at all, thanks to Brent and Jackie! And the 18,000 feet with Ultimate video package is definitely worth it. This was the most exhilarating and life-changing experience I've had. 10/10 would do it again!!! read more

My advice: find another skydiving company. This company profits from ripping off their majority non-local customers by refusing refunds for no-flying days. The customers have put a deposit down with the expectation of receiving the service and when the weather does not permit flying within the time period the customer is in the area, the service is not rendered while the deposit for the service is retained by the company. I've been to skydiving companies across the country and this is the first time I've heard of such a thing. Yosemite's skydiving company fully refunded my deposits this past summer due to no-flying conditions, no excuses. That is what an honest and respectable company does. Obviously not for the faint heart. They offer one of the highest skydiving experiences in the world at 18,000 feet! You get a bird's-eye-view of land, mountains AND water so it's also one of the most scenic dives out there. You will have a new appreciation for our planet once you see it's grandness from the sky. Simply breathtaking. I highly recommend the video packages, especially the pricier one. Yes, it seems pricey, I won't lie. But this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience so you might as well shell over the dough to capture it. My friends bought the lower priced packages which include one camera angle (and are still incredible). I went big and bought the deluxe package so I had a cameraman to catch additional angles. By far the best experience I have ever had was jumping off that plane. I could not stop smiling as I was filled with this joy and peace while falling from 15,000 feet over over Monterey Bay. My jump master, Brandon, has become one of my favorite people I have ever met. His calm, confidence mixed with excited energy made the whole experience that much more fun. The best parts were Brandon having us do a back flip out of the plane and having him teach me how to control the parachute when we were a bit closer to the ground. I'm so glad I got the video package. I have watched it multiple times a day since my sky diving experience. My photographer/ videographer (I believe his name was Joe but I apologize- some names got lost in the excitement) did an amazing job capturing the whole experience for me. As those who know Marina understand, fog and wind are relatively constant. Because of the weather we did cancel the first time we tried to go but they were super amiable and we were able to go back the next day when the weather was more favorable. It is definitely worth it to skydive here because of the beautiful scenery and awesome people, but it is a good idea to have at least a couple days stay around the area in case you need to wait for more favorable conditions. I could go on and on about how amazing all the people were that worked there and how cool the experience was, but it's probably better to go and see for yourself if you ever get the chance! read more

What a professional, crazy fun establishment. I've done the tandem jump with them 3 times and will continue to go back until I can get my own cert (hopefully there as well!). The tandem jumpers are very well experienced, and give you a basic info sesh where they explain your role in the jump. It is a gorgeous view as you free fall and make your descent. Couldn't recommend them more, ESPECIALLY if you only plan to jump once. Go big, go beautiful, go Monterey. Amazing life changing experience. Jumped on 8/31 with my instructor Gustavo and another 3rd person photographer, whose name I forgot... oops (paid extra for the upgrade, but honestly isn't worth the money. Gustavo was enough, but I would suggest the upgrade as it was a nice funny, memorable video.) Booked 2 weeks ahead on their website to jump alone. Thought it was gonna be terrible weather that day because it was so cloudy in the morning plus it was just a few days after the fire so air quality was a concern too. I called like 2 days before the jump thinking that it would be best to postpone it to a later date, but they were very informative about their safety & flight situation so I decided to keep it as is. Air quality was getting better as well, so it wouldn't affect the jump and I'd still be able to see the ocean. It wouldn't be safe for them to jump if they couldn't see land so yeaa. On D-day, I checked in at the booked time 10:15AM and they took my temperature and did some paperwork for them and then paid the jump. There were about like 9 other jumpers like me who were waiting for the sky to clear up of clouds. We were given a lunch and were told to come back at 1:15PM to get ready. There are vending machines for snacks and drinks along with a microwave and fridge for your food and a restroom for use before your jump. Some went out to buy food at restaurants nearby while others chilled in their cars or at the provided table inside. There are a lot of parking spots available as it is an open area for planes. Went back inside after the lunch break and the instructors began calling people's names to train them on how to lift your leg to jump and began putting the gear on us. For all of us, the flight was split into 3 flights and I was told to get on the second one. The bus comes to pick the group up, and drops you off in a safe location where you can see the divers land. The instructor finishes his first dive with a client and then guides me onto the plane where he will then strap me to him for the jump. During the freefall, your ears will pop and might even hurt from the pressure, but it goes away after a few hours. The air feels and sounds like an electric fan blowing in your face but x50, so your lips will probably blow open like a fish as it did to me LOL. After he pulls the parachute and you're now just gliding smoothly in the air, he lets you maneuver the parachute a bit and then takes over to do a really awesome flip and lands us safely. Got the edited video by 2:45PM and was on my way out. About the Covid concern, I knew what I was getting myself into, so be prepared to get tested for covid afterwards, especially when you don't wear a mask during the jump, because it would fly off your face before you even know it. It'd be a very smart choice to pay with cash so that you are able to leave any tip for the instructor afterwards and of course the huge discount that I could've fricken had along with my student discount. God I could've saved another 30+ bucks if I did! It might look odd to pay in cash but you'd be saving a lot. I'd definitely go again if I could, especially when there are beaches and restaurants nearby to visit after your jump. I felt the most scared and nervous waiting than I did on the plane up, since they do hype you up and ensure you that you'll be fine. It was actually really really exciting. What an amazing adventure! The ladies who answer the phones and work the desk are very knowledgeable & friendly. The communication is constant & concise. I arrived at 10:30 am, was paired with my jump master by 11:15 am, and before I knew it I was on my way back home by 12:30 pm. I jumped tandem with Rowan who made me feel very safe & comfortable and on top of that he had a great sense of humor. The views are unbeatable! Both Rowan and the camera man, Chris, took amazing footage of this unforgettable experience (I opted to have it sent via email link so I didn't have to wait around). Instructions from the beginning stages including the grueling but understandably necessary paperwork/waivers and throughout the jump process from the instructors was well explained and through. Despite being weathered out on our first visit, we were still pumped to be able to jump the next day when conditions were better. Our group of 7 felt at ease with all our instructors. They walked us through everything we should expect from start to end with humor and professionalism. Just enough to ease any unnecessary worries. Our photos and videos came out great! We were able to watch them on the TVs in the hangar. Definitely upgrade if you can! It's quite pricey, especially on top of the Skydive fee. Some things to keep in mind -- 1) If you purchased a Groupon, make sure to read the terms before booking! You can only use it if you reserve by phone. 2) There will be a considerable amount of waiting. Bring games to do while hanging out, and food to eat! There is a fridge and microwave there. 3) Spectators are welcome! 4) They don't control the weather. They want you to jump as much as you do, but safety is priority! This place was pretty easy to find with a big parking lot. They check your temperature at the entrance and only allow jumpers in to make sure there's not a lot of people in the building because of Covid. The view was amazing and my jump master Luna was great! He had such a fun personality and was always explaining everything as he went. We laughed the whole time and made sure I was comfortable with everything. We did a flip in the air and he let me steer when we were free falling. I purchased the extra video package, I think if it's your first time it's worth it because you get better pictures and better camera views. What a bad ass experience! It is completely worth it to pay the extra money for footage. You go in, sign your life away, then the instructors begin to get their groups and show you the proper way to jump. I assume it's separated by the different groups jumping the different heights. I was the last group, three of us did the 18,000 ft. For the first 30 seconds it is a little hard to breathe but they warn you about that, it is completely normal we all experienced it. Once the first parachute comes out is when you can real be in wow of the view.. my instructor was very kind and comforted me from finish to start, he reassured all my questions lol read more
