I want to just start this review off by saying that this company is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever come across. The only reason why I give them one star is because our instructors were pretty cool and it was our first time skydiving. However, I ended up finding this company on Groupon and booking a time to go skydiving not knowing the terrible reviews this place has. The story goes that I went skydiving to propose to my girlfriend and I wanted to do it via skydiving using this company. When we first got there the staff was very friendly and the instructors were professional, at first, but when we started to get instructed on what to do when we jumped they rushed through all of the instructions leaving my fiancé and I pretty FREAKED OUT to jump. Once my fiancé and I jumped out of the plane and I proposed to her on the ground, she said yes, we then waited for our videos to be produced so we could get them the same day and they said they had a power outage, kinda freaky at a skydiving place if you ask me, so they said they would send our videos in the mail and we could get them in next 3 days. I remember checking my mail for the first week and receiving nothing. A couple weeks went by and we still didn't receive our videos I paid $160 for, or even receiving a phone call from the company apologizing for the inconvenience. Continue reading this it gets WORSE. I then called the company back and the front desk guy said that he would try to check the records and see why we didn't receive our videos, and then he told me he would call me back the next day. The next day rolled around and didn't receive a phone call or anything that day or week. I ended up calling back a week later complaining about why we didn't receive my videos I purchased. I ended up receiving a digital copy in my email from the dude that checked why my videos weren't sent to me only to realize that I couldn't download the two files just one of them, not to mention that one of the videos weren't even ours it was someone else's. I then called the company back telling them these things and they tried looking for my fiancé's video telling me that they may have lost her video, or it could be on one of the instructors Go Pros still which we haven't received yet. It's been about a month and we haven't received our videos that we purchased. For whoever reads this review I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the lying and unprofessional service they offer. They pretty much ruined half of my marriage proposal with not giving us the videos of the proposal and the crappy quality of the video that I noticed on mine. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO SKYDIVE! Hi, I have visited them last week with my family. 4 of my members did skydiving and I went as an observer. Honestly, from booking to getting there and getting all ready to jump everything was quite smooth. Everyone there was quite friendly and helpful. Cassandra , vikas and all 4 divers who went with my family was phenomenal. But my experience didn't lasted long in that direction. All of my ppl got their video as they promised. But my son didn't get his video even after 48 hours of wait time. Upon calling we found out that camera was mal functioning and it may take bit longer then expected to get the footage. We understood. Things happens. But after whole one week we as of today still don't have the footage. My son kept on calling them and they kept on telling him that it's ready and he will get in his email once it's all formatted. Finally we lost our patience and I called and it was unbelievable how rude the lady was on the phone. She kept on saying in very rude tone that we have sent request to third party and they will send you soon. I said can I call them and can I have their info ? She said did your other children got videos then you should have info about them. She didn't provide me any info and email has no contact info. Upon calling again after few hours lady said nothing I can do abd it's third party. I was like I paid I you and instead of taking accountability she was taking her hands off of this matter. She totally made me feel like she doesn't care abd she got the money now screw you. I requested nicely few times that isn't it your job to call me n keep me posted ? Here every day we been calling. Secondly , now that my son has no video are you going to refund ? She was very stern and said well your son jumped abd we have footage so no refund. I said ok he jumped so take money. But he didn't get the footage so why are you not refunding or getting me video? She just didn't care to talk n she just left the convo n manager Cassandra came on the phone. Then the whole thing started working again smoothly. Cassandra said if I don't get video by tonight then she will refund and still send the video. Now Thsts call the ultimate customer service. I would do the same as business owner. But it's sad to see their staff has not learned this. Ppl so far I and my son spoke to gave us just same words and nothing more. But Cassandra was on top of thst just in one call n kept me posted about what's goin on. I would def work with Cassandra since she knows tacts of business. If I wouldn't have gotten hold of her then surely this review wasn't going to be decent. They owe it to her big time. The team at Skydive Phoenix works like a well oiled machine. The entire experience was professional and comfortable. That's a good thing since we were jumping out of an airplane and safely floating back to earth. My tandem skydiver was Dustin and my girlfriend's was Joel. Both met with us early and went through the entire process. We both felt like we were in great hands! My recommendation is to go with the higher release - 13,500' and 60 seconds of freefall! My boyfriend and I went a few days ago and had a BLAST! Jonathan was my outside video guy (worth buying the outside video) and he was the perfect hype man. He took great video and his excitement and enthusiasm made the experience that much more fun and enjoyable. Drew was my instructor and I felt completely safe with him. Opposite from Jonathan in that he just seemed like a chill, calm guy (something that was definitely necessary considering he was the one my harness was connected to). I do feel like I have to apologize to him though... you're supposed to curl your legs back and try to touch your feet to your butt... looking at the video and pictures, I was more so in the fetal position hahah sorry! Absolutely incredible and awesome staff. They know it's scary but they make you feel at home and that everything is under control. We paid for the video package and it was totally worth it. I am a big guy at 6'2" and 230 lb and Dustin was able to bring us both safely down with ease. He also made the free fall and parachute descent as crazy as I wanted it to be including flips and spins. However, my wife opted for a less crazy option and her tandem jumper matched her style so nobody was pushed beyond their boundaries. It is definitely worth the money and the team really knows their stuff. Some other things to note are that they will give you the option to free fall for 20, 40, or 60 seconds. We chose 60 seconds but if it is your first time jumping and you want to save money you will be fine with the twenty or forty second free fall. Spend the cash on a personal videographer that comes down with you!!! Loved it!! read more

After writing this review, I'm also sending a message to yelp asking them to add a half-star rating system, because a star seems way too much for this garbage company and its garbage employees. If you want to try them out, by all means. Just make sure to get there 5 hours late because they're going to make you wait that long anyways. And if you want to document this wonderful skydiving experience, bring your own go pro camera. Hell, if you jump while taking a video with your phone, then drop it from however many miles up, you'll still have a better chance of getting a shot or two of your jump. My girlfriend and i paid $160 each for video documentation, they first claim they'll send them soon. Then they claim there's been a "problem" with the camera. Then their newest employee lets slip that "they've lost a bunch of videos and a lot of people are complaining". Oh and guess what? Their coward, pu**y owner has the audacity to refuse to talk to us over the phone about a refund. Even though it's been over 3 months and we still haven't received the videos. But don't worry! You MIGHT get a free low quality cotton tshirt if you show that you're annoyed. Maybe if you yell at them they'll give you a jumpsuit, just never a refund. The Skydive was exhilarating, but their customer service and ethics fall quite short. I paid an extra $139 to have a camera guy jump with me to film my first Skydiving experience. However, they forgot to send the camera guy. (We were in a large group so I assumed one of them was going to be filming us) I was pretty disappointed because you only have your first skydive once... When I got to the ground, they said I could pay $100 to go back up again and have them shoot the video. There was no way I could get a video of me skydiving for the $300+ dollars I had already paid (including the Groupon). Needless to say, I won't be recommending these guys to anyone. My diver was an awesome guy. He made it a good experience, but unfortunately due to the lack of customer focus and customer service I could never recommend this place to anyone. I give it 2 stars because I jumped out of a plane and survived. Other than that, nothing else was pleasant. I bought a Groupon just like everybody else here. However, I don't think that Skydive Phoenix had the personnel to handle all of the customers. We booked over a month in advance, for an early time slot at 11am. They told us to arrive "just a half hour early." It was only AFTER we arrived and registered that they told us the wait would be 4 hours. They also told us on the phone that our party of 3 would be able to go in the same plane; this was not the case. They split our party up, and by the time it was my friend's turn to jump, they decided to cancel all flights because the afternoon winds had picked up. I am grateful that they are cautious, but we booked an early time slot to avoid that very issue. One tandem instructor hanging out in the waiting area kept talking smack about another instructor. Another instructor told me that the front desk girl gets "booking happy" which exacerbates the wait. Not very professional. To top it off, they redeemed my friend's Groupon even though she didn't get to jump! That was terrible. Groupon gave her credit for the amount she spent, which we were very happy about. read more

After doing my first tandem jump in Southern California I was hooked. When I came back to Phoenix I wanted to start jumping by myself right away. Luckily, for both my safety and that of others in the sky, that's not allowed. I started my Advanced Student Program (ASP), which is much like Accelerated Free-fall (AFF) training, at Skydive Phoenix. It's a small, but growing operation with some awesome, friendly, skilled people. After shooting the breeze for awhile with the owner Marc on the phone I set up an appointment to get started on my training. I paid up front and started the classroom training way too early in the morning on the weekend. Marc talked me into the ASP program, to my benefit, which is 2 tandem jumps, then the rest is just like AFF with 7 levels. The tandem jumps allowed me to get more familiar with free-fall and a little bit of canopy operation. During my training they taught me life saving techniques in high stress situations, but the emphasis to have a great time was always there.....which I obliged naturally. Now that I'm off student status I'm having a blast doing front flips and back flips from the plane, during free-fall, and whatever else I can imagine/read about. There are two small Cessnas that they use, which seats 4 jumpers, and very soon they should have a caravan and there will tons more people going up at once. It gets quite busy here sometimes, but there is always space to jump. The staff are very helpful with any questions you have, and safety is paramount for everyone. Knowledge is shared freely in a nonjudgmental manner since everyone is down to earth, when we're on the ground of course! read more

Incredible! 10 out of 10 and easily deserving of 5 stars! My wife and I decided to check something off of our bucket list and go skydiving this week, and Skydive Phoenix made it perfect! Our instructors, Wilmar and Chris, were both very professional and helpful. They made sure that we were comfortable, answered all of our questions and made sure we knew exactly what to do every step of the way. Our videographers, Max and Sebastian, were also extremely friendly and helpful. Both of our instructors and videographers had each individually made THOUSANDS of jumps and were very reassuring. We were both able to feel completely safe but enjoy the insane adrenaline rush of the entire experience! I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the higher jump (60 seconds of free fall instead of 20 or 40 seconds) and the outside video package with a videographer. With it we each received 300+ high quality pictures, 2 shorter 'highlight' video clips, and a single full video clip of the entire fall and landing. The videos are then uploaded to an app within 24 hours where you can edit and download them. The whole process couldn't be any easier. Best of all, both of our videos were extremely well filmed and watching them back is like watching the advertising video for someone living the best skydiving experience of a lifetime! read more

Firstly, we didn't order a video or photo because of the reviews on this site. So I don't have any feedback on that. However, the experience is one of a lifetime and the people that make it are the tandem divers that keep you alive. There are some complaints about the wait and organization but I gotta say, everyone I talk to about skydiving say the place they went had a lot of hurry up and wait too. These people are dealing with conditions (weather, mechanical difficulties, etc) that can be out of their control. They do their job the safest they can. Skydive Phoenix had a fantastic staff that made the experience both fun and comfortable. If you buy the videos/photos you get them the night of, however my dad's videos originally did not show his actual skydive (just him in the plane and then on the ground). After contacting the staff, they were very helpful and were able to correct the error and get us the footage within a couple of days. The actual footage and videographers are awesome. Quick, thorough, exhilarating, sunny, and fun. I could say more but you get the point. You arrive to jump out of a plane and they don't make you wait around. Watch a short safety video (to find out skydiving hasn't been around for that long!). Decide, yep I still want to do this. Get harnessed up. Take a short walk to the plane. Fly to 10,000 feet. Left foot, right foot, jump! What I didn't know: my stomach didn't drop like I expected. We were flying so fast my ears felt like they had a barrier. Have fun. read more

After seeing the reviews I had to write one. When you show up in the middle of the desert yes, there is a port-o-potty, yes there is a trailer and yes a beat up plane with duck tape. So what, you are jumping out of it. Just hope it doesn't go down before hand. The whole scene was actually pretty straight forward and accommodating when we got there. Tatted up guys chain smoking and cussing? What do you expect, your jumping out of a plane. I jumped with Tod, one of the tatted up smoking guys these people reviewing are probably referring to. Guy was awesome, made me feel totally comfortable and safe the whole time. Headed back in a few weeks to tak my second jump. Why 3 stars? Because of the video. $79 for a go pro video I could of shot myself. I have two of them and thought I was going to have a guy filming us jumping out at that price. Besides that, yeah it looks sketchy but so is skydiving. I have to say one more comment after seeing the prices people paid and with paypal? What is that all about? I had such a great experience here! I went skydiving today for the first time. None of my friends would go so I went alone. I thought it would be awkward but all of the guys were the perfect mix of professional and personable! They made jokes and made me very comfortable. They were genuinely nice, good guys. Amazing experience, you need to arrive with a little flexibility as the weather in Arizona can change and clearly a safe skydive is the number one priority. We had such an amazing jump at Skydive Phoenix! My boyfriend and I both did tandem jumps- it was our first time skydiving. The staff was friendly, confident, and professional. They made us feel completely comfortable with our jump. We had to watch an instructional video and sign some paperwork but then we were suited up and briefed for our jump. The plane is small but it was a very smooth ride up to 10,000 feet! Like the other reviews mentioned, there is duct tape and loss screws but it is a completely safe and functional plane which the instructors will tell you is 'perfect for jumping out of!' The instructors brief you on the ground, in the plane, and after your free-fall so we always felt informed on our next step. Both of our dives went perfectly! We were very happy that we went with Skydive Phoenix for our jump. There is not a lot of reviews out there for skydiving in the area, so I had to write a review to HIGHLY recommend these guys. read more

As an experienced skydiver I enjoy the sense of community that Skydive Phoenix provides. If you are looking for an "authentic" skydiving experience Skydive Phoenix is the place to go in the valley. I say "authentic", because the Skydive Phoenix experience very closely mimics the experience to be had at 95% of the dropzones around the world. 182 Cesnas are the primary jumpships (a very unique experience compared to turbines) and turbines are added to the mix as well (Caravans). The owner and staff are very experienced and safety conscience, but it's not a clinical experience, they like to make the experience fun and genuine for the tandem passengers and students. You will not feel like just another tandem or aff student in a skydive factory. I short Skydive Phoenix one star only because it's not the ellusive perfect dropzone with capacity, facilities, experienced staff and the "small dropzone" feel....However, I've yet to find that dropzone. In October, my girlfriend brought me here for my first tandem skydive as a surprise. I wasn't quite as ready as I thought I'd be, but everything went great. The staff was very informed as well as informative, and they did a great job of showing how well versed they were in what they did. My skydive went great, it was easily the most fun I've ever had, and I've had my share of fun. The next weekend, I decided to come back to watch and see how everything worked, so that I could decide whether or not to become a student. I spent literally the entire weekend there, watching, learning, talking, just hanging out in general. The staff was very welcoming, and were more than happy to share their knowledge and experiences with me. This was the weekend I decided to become a skydiver. I've jumped over 20 times since then, and I'm loving every jump more and more. The staff makes me feel like family, and they all take their job very seriously, while keeping things lighthearted. The number one thing I respect about Skydive Phoenix is how safety and accountability is of paramount importance. If someone notices something that is potentially unsafe, or doesn't feel comfortable about something, it is brought to the right person's attention and handled promptly and properly. I'm giving Skydive Phoenix 5 stars, and for good reason. My best friend Danielle went tandem with Steve and my fiancé went with Josh! I had the pleasure of staying in the plane and co-piloting with Patrick the pilot. I went skydiving on and for my birthday, and it was phenomenal - thanks to Skydive Phoenix! It was a tandem jump so I was attached to another person via harnesses - I forgot his name (ops, but maybe it was Rob - I believe he was from Chicago?). Anyway, he was AWESOME! He was super cool and he perfectly steered the way after the jump so that we landed softly & gracefully on our feet (no hard impact)! When I got there in the morning, I read and watched info about safety - including paperwork. Hence the reasoning to get there EARLY and well before your scheduled time. Also, I watched a person carefully fold a parachute. I was thoroughly amazed though so NERVOUS as well. The flight... There were four of us... The pilot, a lone-jumper, myself and the tandem partner. Once the small plane was airborne at 13,000 feet, the door opened and the lone-jumper did his thang. Then, my experience... I paused for a slight second thinking to myself "omg, am I really doing this?!"; I prayed before jumping. Then it was all a fast blur for a few seconds since we were free-falling and I was screaming (natural instinct)! THEN the BEST part = the parachute opened and we were FLOATING in the air. That moment was so peaceful! The views made me think, "dang, Arizona is so beautiful!" Everyone there was so nice! Btw I was the FIRST jumper for the day. Afterward, I got a neat certificate congratulating me on my first skydive! A *CON* - I paid extra for photos though they did NOT come out good = quality was lacking. Note, the tandem partner took photos from a camera that was securely strapped to his arm. My recommendation: inquire if photos can be taken via alternative means (i.e., another jumper taking the photos while in the air - so as to capture your entire body with the scenic surroundings). Despite the one con, this was an exhilarating experience - allowing me to check an item off my bucket list! I was sooo pumped after the jump - with a big smile on my face! read more

My first jump was FANTASTIC! I couldn't have had a better experience! I have only thought about skydiving for a few months when a friend asked if I wanted to go with her. I found Skydive Phoenix and we both took a "flying leap"! Max was my Jumpmaster and Gena was my friends. I can say that I was NOT nervous for one moment. Came here for my dads 50th bday!! Brad was my instructor and he was amazing! Lightened the mood and made me feel comfortable to jump out of a plane with him lol nice guy!! Dustin was my recorder and he was amazing as well! The first time I went skydiving I went to another place in az but this place has better views with the mountains! If its your first time I definitely recommend to go the full altitude and free fall 60 seconds to get the full experience! You're already up there why not!! read more
