Walked in the door at 9:35pm and clerk says "uhh we are closed" quite rudely. However, website says they close at 10pm, door says they close at 10pm, and the doors were unlocked. Unacceptable. Change the hours or serve the customers. To add insult to injury the staff was sitting in booths eating food. It's not like they serve steak; they serve hotdogs and precooked spaghetti. read more

Quick and convenient. The seating was a little confusing. There was no host. I guess you just find yourself seating, as they did not seem to care where we sat. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. The food came out in about 5 minutes. I supposed just about everything is ready to go in the kitchen (spaghetti, chili, cheese, hotdogs, etc). You either love it or hate it. I'm on the loving side. I can't get enough of this chili that has coco and cinnamon in it. Yes, sounds very weird but it's soooo good. Hot dogs are small but they are not shy on the cheese on any dish. Since I enjoy this chili so much but don't have a location less than 30 miles from my house, I buy the chili in a can from Costco or Kroger and make my own at least weekly. Needed to get something quick and have only had Skyline once before as I'm not from the area. Ordered two dogs and French fries. The dogs were little cold grey meet tubes with a spoonful of dry barely warm chili and a mound of cheddar cheese. These were hands down the worst coney dogs I ever had in my life. I'm from Detroit where we know how to make a proper coney dog but even so... come on Cincinnati you should be embarrassed by this debacle of a restaurant chain. Love our Dry Ridge Skyline! Service is always fast and friendly and the food is outstanding (I don't care what anyone says; some Skylines ARE better than others!). Even the drive thru is quick and always gets everything right! We're here at least a few times a month. read more

Fast, efficient, friendly service, pristine dining area, ample parking, drive thru, a bit of a trick to find this one, but worth it! If you haven't enjoyed these coney dogs or coney sauce style spaghetti, it's worth a try. Real cheese is served vs liquid cheese, and all food is prepared within eyesight so no guessing when it's ready or if it's sitting forever. Semi-truck parking is a challenge but there's quite a few empty parking lots with space within walking distance as of 8/2017. read more

This place was a BIG letdown for me! I should have taken the clue at the counter NOT to order here when you can buy their chili topping in a can! What?! Now wouldn't that be enough free advice to beware?! But no...I just had to dive head deep into "Chicago Chili Disaster". That's what I am dubbing this food stop. Sorry to even type such words of ICK towards any company, but if not only I, but my kids as well (all of various ages), wouldn't eat the stuff when I brought it back to our hotel room...it's a clear sign that something is terribly wrong here! I mean I am a bit confused. The stars for this place looked promising, the reviews looked positive, and well the place looks clean, cheery, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I mean I give them a star for that much. But that's where it ends people. The chili on the pasta ruins everything! Yeah, the condiments of shredded cheese and sour cream toppings might help the dog food taste, but other then that, it's pig slop that I am guessing a pig might even detest! Oye Vey!!! If you know me, I am not one to quickly write off an eatery. I sometimes will chalk it up to it just being a "bad day" for them...but this place will NEVER be visited again by our family. The chili in a can eatery is just not a place I could possibly stomach again, and I only was able to eat like 3 bites of it...and that was pushing it! Yuck! We were pleasantly surprised. We were expecting a small Skyline location on a strip-mall and walked into a modern, spacious and welcoming restaurant. The crew were very friendly and the service was quick. The food was consistently your classic Skyline chili fare. Our out-of-town Texan visitor got to taste and enjoy Cincinnati chili in one of their nicer locations. We were truly pleased. read more

This place came highly recommended by a close friend that used to live in this area. Although not a huge chili fan, I do partake in the Winter often. I called and the person who answered came off as shocked when I mentioned it was for take out. He asked if it was a large order and I said it was. Then he let me actually order. When the call ended and he clarified what I ordered, he said "it will be ready when you get here." No time given. Good news - I was across the street so I walked in 5 minutes later. Food was not ready. Weird. Next, although very nice, asked about a part of my order again to clarify that I did not want chili on my kid's noodles. I clarified. When I got home, all the kid's noodles had chili on them. As we proceeded to open our items, it was obvious the hot dogs were dog napped and taken to a science lab where they took the normal sized hotdogs and shrank them to cocktail size. The covered them with gobs of stuff that protected the true identity of the hot dogs. Unfortunately, the chili on top of the cocktail weenies was broken. Tumeric issue? I am not sure - I do know not a single person could finish their meals and 50% was tossed out. I, myself, had a Greek Chicken Wrap. I found the chicken....well, I found 3 cubes...I think....or that was feta....I am not sure. I actually ordered two and tossed the 2nd one because I could not get through the first one. This is probably the closest Skyline to Lexington (my main stomping grounds), so my wife and I frequented it quite a bit back in the day. They even memorized my wife's usual order and would just have to confirm it with us when we got there. The interior is always clean, staff is quick and efficient, and the food is always up to Skyline Standards. More recently, we've had a dog in tow and not been able to visit. We decided to visit their drive-thru on a recent trip back from Indianapolis. I ordered a Coney dog (wasn't super hungry) and the wife got her medium four-way with extra onions and Dr.Pepper with no ice. Both were delicious, but they had neglected to give us any onions. Thankfully, we opted to eat in the parking lot so I ran in and got those pretty quickly. The staff apologized and has them ready to go in seconds. Great location, will visit again. read more

So I'm in the middle of an interminable drive between way up North and way down South, lunchtime comes up and just when I am thinking whether it is going to be burger or Chinese buffet, and I see a sign for a branch of the famous Skyline chili, and realize I can check off a box on my culinary bucket list -- chili from Cincinnati. I pull up to this place that looks and feels like a clean fast food franchise, except instead of a big burger grill, there is a big space in the counter where they fetch up the chili, and another big space where they dish up spaghetti. Given the gobs of cheese they put on everything, there was probably anther big space for that too, but I did not notice it. I ordered a four way -- that's chili and spaghetti and a choice of onion or beans. (I had beans -- I was driving alone.). And, having been away from Southland too darn long, I had sweet ice tea, too. Anyway -- the chili was good, fresh, and tasted strongly of cinnamon. I liked it, And the oyster crackers, too. It's not like Texas, but it was good and filling. I was in and out in 20 min. I could not have done better at Chick Fil A. And this branch of the skyline chain is handy to the expressway and far enough from the city that traffic is not a problem. Clean restrooms to match the rest of the clean interior. Service was excellent, she brought us bibs to keep our dress clothes clean. Yes, we stopped after an event requiring a suit and tie. Meh... That's all I have to say about the food. For a restaurant that specializes in chili, it should serve something better than chili akin to frozen block institutional chili. I got the chili burrito that came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a huge pile of cheddar on top. The worst part? The chili! My wife ordered a Greek salad, something I don't really associate with chili. The salad was OK and pretty standard. My son had the children's spaghetti which looked like noodles lightly coated with chili sauce. The best thing on the menu would have to be the funnel fries! Funnel cakes made into bite size pieces and covered with powered sugar. Quite tasty! On the plus side the restaurant was clean and spacious. Predominantly found in the general vicinity of Cincinati, I usually make it a point to stop at a Skyline as I drive through for a 3-way (or 4...or 5) chili depending on how I'm feeling when I'm in the area. Cincinati chili comes in various tiers or ways. Each way is an additional element in the dish. 3-way is spaghetti base, a meat sauce and cheese. Add a way and you can add either fresh chopped onions or beans for a 4-way or both for a 5-way. Add a little hot sauce or habenero cheese and you're good to go! It's not mind-blowing or anything--the meat sauce is fairly plain and straightforward, but its just a simple local dish that's worth a try and a nice change of pace from regular roadside food on a road trip. On top of the chilis they also have some decent chili dogs, chili baked potatoes, etc. Basically all chili, all the time. Heh. In terms of the restaurant setup Skyline is actually pretty nice it's a sit down restaurant with fast food prices and decor. Think Steak & Shake minus a little style. ...also, calling home to say "I had a 3-way and it was AWESOME!!" is always hilarious. This is the first time driving thru this area and I was surprised to see Chili restaurants at the exits. What a great idea when you are trying to stay off the carbs. I saw the Skyline Chili sign and took a chance. I was not disappointed. I ordered the loaded bowl with onion cheese and sour cream. Just the right amount of food. After a long drive from SC, I stopped by the Dry Ridge Skyline on my way back to Cincinnati for a quick take-out. I was greeted by the friendly young manager, who asked me about my trip. When I informed him I was visiting my new granddaughter, he insisted I enjoy my lunch at his expense. Genuine kindness shows up when you least expect it...and the coney was great! read more

The food was NASTY. The service was slow they waited til everyone's food was made which took to long. In their chili they put cinnamon and cocoa and it's not on their menu ingredients.
