We had a couple of first timers and they really helped them be more comfortable and have fun. It was my first time ziplining in hawaii and it was so much fun!! We bought the 5 line package and it was about 1.5 hours. I think the lines could have been longer, distance-wise, but I'm giving skyline a 5 star review because our tour guides, ikaika and randal were the best! They made the experience very enjoyable, teaching us about the wild life, making sure we were safe and secure on the lines, and cracking plenty of jokes along the way too. Very hard workers for sure. Yesterday, my family and I went zip lining with Skyline at the Haleakala Volcano. To sum it up quickly, it was absolutely amazing! I wish I could leave more than 5 stars, because these guys really deserve it! We had Ray and Chauncie as our guides, and it's obvious they really enjoy what they do. They were cracking jokes and having fun with us all the whole time. This was all of our first time zip lining, so were not quite sure what to expect, but we really felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The zip lines themselves were obviously fun and thrilling, but the best part really was the customer service from our guides. I cannot stress how amazing they were, and I highly, highly recommend this company! We have been staying near Lahaina, and the drive from there wasn't too bad. Go by Ocean Spirits for a nice cocktail after to make it a great trip out there. 10 out of 5 stars for Skyline!! Do not pick any other zip lining company! read more

But years later, I can say this review, written by my mom, still stands true. This was an amazing experience for all 6 of the members of our family. We are from st joseph mo and was here visiting our daughter and her husband that live in Honolulu. They came with us also and loved the great time we had. The guides we had really made the experience even better. Thanks Jordan S. and Levi for a great time! They were funny and very knowledgeable about the history of the Hawaiian islands. Went to this zipline company after going on the sunrise tour on Haleakala Peak. We got here just in time for the 8:30am start, checked in and signed a waiver on their iPad. Jesse, one of the staff members, helped us all get situated with our gear. This place has 5 lines but we skipped the first 2 because of renovations/tree cutting. I was a bit bumped because we weren't informed beforehand. Instead, we were comforted that we were doing lines 3 and 4 twice to make up for it. On the way to line 5, there was an elevated wooden ladder we had to walk through. I actually got a headache walking through this because the person before me shook the entire thing while I was walking on it... so beware! I think of all the lines I tried, line 5 was the best one. If you're afraid of heights, or get skirmish of the sort, I suggest going first or one of the first. Standing there just seeing how "deep" or "far" the other end is might make you reconsider your life decisions, lol. Take it from me, I'm afraid of heights and I was the last one to go. The only reason for the -1 star is because I felt like the staff weren't "excited" enough. I felt like they were somewhat just going through the motion of getting you from point A to point B. I didn't expect them to have a full-on conversation or become your BFF for the entire 1.5 tour of this place, but a little enthusiasm would have been great. Then again, I think we were the first group and they didn't have their coffee just yet. read more

Our sunrise tour was led by @BillRath who is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the history and flora & fauna on Haleakala. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate but we knew that was the risk of doing a sunrise tour. Bill was prepared and airdropped us photos of previous sunrises and the crater to take home. Ziplining was a TON of fun. It's super safe and out of group of 4, we had no issues or problems that we ran into. I also feel like a huge reason why it was so good was because of Austin and Keilan. They're absolutely hilarious and crack the funniest jokes. You can really tell that they love their work and they really added to our experience of ziplining for the first time. I'm not someone who has a fear of heights or experiencing an extreme activity, but they can really help calm anyone's nerves. Make sure to try out Skyline! I also highly recommend stopping by the Kula market to pick up ginger chews, ginger beer, or a Hana Tonic if you get motion sickness. There's also a restaurant next door to eat your fears away lol read more

Skyline is usually booked out months in advance, but we got lucky and were able to book a 5-line 90 minute tour the same week we were staying in Maui. It's a really great option if you want to add a ziplining adventure into your itinerary without committing to an entire day. Our guides, Ray and Jansen were engaging and funny and definitely enhanced our experience! We learned that Skyline gives 1% of all sales back to environmental conservation and I really enjoyed learning about the efforts to get rid of the invasive Eucalyptus trees that you're ziplining past. They make the soil acidic and require a lot of water, which makes it difficult for other native plants to grow around them. You also learn about endangered bird species as each zip line is named after one. Reminders: 1) Arrive 30 minutes before your tour start time to get setup with your gear. 2) Wear close-toed shoes and warm clothing. While I was fine in shorts and a t-shirt that day, I'd still bring a sweater as it gets cool on the mountain. 3) Recommend having a zippered pocket for your phone! We chose to leave them at the office, so we wouldn't accidentally drop them. I was really bummed that we couldn't capture any of the fun, but luckily there was a couple that was nice enough to snap some photos for us. Most of your views are limited to the ravines, but there was one scenic spot where everyone took pictures. Minimal walking required. While most of the zip lines were pretty basic, I still had a great time and would come back! read more

Fantastic! My sister (who had never been ziplining) and I went on the 5-line eco-tour with Ahnalee and Randell. It was the perfect tour for first-time zipliners. The tour guides were funny, knowledgeable, and accommodating to all skill and comfort levels. We were encouraged to have fun and try new things (like running off of the launch platform) but they were a-ok if we were not comfortable pushing ourselves yet. In addition, we ended up stuck in traffic on RT-30 and could not make our original 11:30 tour time. We called the main office and they were extremely accommodating and offered to reschedule us to the 2:00 pm tour free of charge. Will definitely be recommending this tour company to all of our friends and will be coming back on future trips to Maui! read more
