Pre-paid for a hot deal on 4/06/21which included a cart on line thru Golfnow, show up for my tee time and I am informed that even though my receipt states cart included they would not honor it and would cost me a cart rental. i usually walk with a push cart but didn't bring it with me, so 7.4 miles later my walking round of golf wasn't my best. I will never play there again and would advise others to be aware of this problem, the employee checking me in blamed it on Golfnow, stating that they had addressed it with them but did not offer any customer service at all. The course layout and conditions are 3 star but management or lack thereof is getting worse every time I've played. They need a Marshall and they need one bad. We teed off at 620 and were told that there was a tournament starting on 7th hole later on and to look out for them. WTF? Either hold times for your reservation customers or block out times for your club tourney but don't try and do both as your just doing two things wrong instead of one thing right. El Dorado is down the street. Send one of your mgrs over there for a month to see how a course-even as goofy as Hijinks is-should be run. Than on 10 we are watching a five some hit about two balls a piece on another hole and all hitting trees and almost us while a guy in a cart with a hard hat tells my group to speed up. We were two holes ahead. In short the course is ok but it's mismanaged. No way a 5some (starters idea not ours) should suffer 4 1/2 hour round teeing off at 620. I avoid skyjinks at all costs from now on. read more

Played here a couple weeks ago. If you hit low top spin heavy drives you'll love this course cause the fairways are rock hard and have almost no grass. No sand in the bunkers either. Greens and most tee boxes were in fairly good shape. I like green grass and courses that have aesthetic appeal. This course has very little of that. Did get right on and almost finished before or got too dark so that was a plus. read more

My husband and I got married here in April 2018 and it was the best experience ever! We toured many venues and met with many coordinators but Skylinks felt like home and Brooke and Sydney were genuine and sincere-like long time friends/family. Brooke took the time to really get to know my husband and myself and understand our vision for our big day. We had several meetings to go over details both big and small and were given ideas and tips to make our day go seamlessly. Brooke is a problem solver who came in like Wonder Woman to help us coordinate a special first look after we ran into some hiccups from our original plan. The vendors that Skylinks team up with are top notch, our cake from Great Dane's in Los Alamitos was scrumptious and crafted beautifully. The overall venue is centrally and conveniently located on a charming and well manicured property. We had our actual ceremony on the beach in Laguna Beach but the reception space was the perfect size for our guests and the bridal suite is a bright and vibrant space to get ready in. Brooke ad Sydney helped to create an appealing space that was intricately decorated and what we envisioned for our big day, Brooke even threw in some surprises because she is that awesome! The food is some of the best food that I have had at a formal event and I promise I am not being biased- all of our guests ranted and raved about it. All of the catering staff were pleasant, helpful, and sweet going above and beyond the call of duty. The dance space was perfect and the overall ambiance was magical. They made our special day so memorable/special and now we have these memories to cherish for a lifetime together. This was my second time playing at Skylinks and I've score alright both times. If you've played El Dorado or Big Rec, then there should be few surprises. Skylinks is what you would expect from a Long Beach municipal course, although I prefer playing here than the other munis. Even off the back tees this course plays really short and scoring is pretty simple (shot 71). Considering how much golf gets played, it's in pretty decent condition. The greens rolled nicely (which didn't seem to help me) and bunkers were raked, which is always appreciated. Sadly, as I said, this place is treated like a golf factory, and the experience suffers as a result. My main frustration was that this round cost me $75 and my friend and I were paired in a 5 - ball, which they failed to tell us before we arrived on the tee. Also, they removed GPS from the carts, which is a pretty standard feature when you're paying over $70 on a week day. I will play Skylinks again but I'm in no rush to make the journey down from LA. I prefer playing courses like Industry Hills & Angeles National, which cost a similar price. read more

I get a lot of practice done on their putting greens, chipping area and range. Many good golfers here. Had an incident years ago with a guy in the group that kept talking negatively about the Asian couple in the group. Was odd but nice golfers for the most part. Friendly staff and nice greeting even though one guy seemed like he couldn't wait to say welcome. I wasn't even looking. Anyway, there are problems in the pro. The fees are expensive and the staff offered a refund and and a prorate on my next outing which they could not follow through on. Went back on their word and refused to offer a cart refund after promising to do so. I was then told a mistake was made and talked to rudely by the manager Sung. Did my best to resolve the problem. Would just like to be given proper fees up front instead of false claims and offers. Want to say I'll never play their again, but will not let ignorance, unprofessional staff ruin my golf outings or my day. It's hard to find good help and customer service, which is unacceptable when paying $60 - $70 for a round of golf. Not to mention the fairways are straw dry and cement hard. Groups of 5 on busy days is just wrong Skylinks. Don't make false promises and keep it real. Professionalism is a must or I will play elsewhere. We can all play elsewhere. Golfers beware and don't fall for the fake, forced greetings. Get a receipt. SMH read more

Overall a very decent golf course. The greens are very tight and maintained. It really helped me enjoy my game that the greens were tight and smooth. If I have any complaints I think some of the tee areas need some work. Will definitely like to play here again. read more

Read what Owen B wrote. I second it. This was my 3rd time there. First was a week day AM and I was really pleased with quality of the greens and the overall lay out. Not championship but not muni either. I'm not very long anymore (240 drives) and this course was very playable. Second time brought my son and we were paired with 2 others. Week day afternoon and took 5 hours. Much, much too long for a short course in my opinion. There was a slow group 3 in front of us and NOT ONCE did we see a marshall. It was bad. Still we went back and gave them another chance...a Saturday afternoon. BIG MISTAKE!. Paired with a really nice couple who were good players so we weren't looking for balls everywhere. On some holes there were 4 groups. Never once were we waved to "hit up" on a par 3 despite signs instructing people to do so. NO MARSHALL anywhere. We quit after 12 holes and 4 HOURS AT THAT POINT. So beware going here in the afternoon or on a W/E. Anyone saying the place is "empty" is wrong. Will I go back...probably "yes" if schedule allows a fairly early week-day tee time. It really is a decent course and a decent value for a slightly higher greens fee. read more

This golf course is well-maintained but the staff was very unhelpful and pace of play was absolutely miserable. It took almost 4 hours to finish 9 holes. They would not refund our money for not finishing the last nine or offer any compensation . There was no general manager on site. Don't waste your money here. Expect to play all 18 holes in about 7 hours! read more

Absolutely loved this venue. It was perfect for us from the first time we had a tour of it. We looked at a few other venues & just kept going back on thoughts of Skylinks. It worked out for the best. Ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception was all in one place. Very flexible & convenient for 140 guest & ourselves. Alyssa was professional & very engaged. Everything was perfect! The reception room was & looked amazing after we added a few upgrades. Definitely worth all the money spent! Food was the bomb too. We're still getting complements on the food. Ceremony site was beautiful & so peaceful with the sounds of the waterfall. We would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding! read more

Chef Service / Waiters & Waitresses/ Bartenders were all on point with making sure the food was served to our guest in a timely manner hot and fresh we were able to speak with the Chef weeks prior to our wedding to inform him on how I would like the food prepared at our wedding and it tasted amazing and all 168 guest loved everything . I recently golfed at Skylinks golf course and let me tell you, this was easily the nicest public course in Long Beach/greater Long Beach area. The greens were well maintained, the fairways had no divets, and our group never had to wait behind any other golf groups. This well maintained course had great bang for your buck. Not to mention, Skylinks has a beautiful wedding venue and my girlfriend and I are strongly considering Skylinks for our upcoming wedding. read more

Too slow! Where are the marshalls???? This is a pain every hole is backed up with 3 groups on the tee.

What a disappointing experience. We booked a tee time a week in advance, provided them wtih our credit card and email address, and called it a day. We woke up early to drop our 3 month old off at her grandma's house at 6:30am to make it to our 7:20am tee time just to find out that they mysteriously didn't have our reservations. Apparently, management here finds it completely appropriate and fair to charge us if we don't make our tee time, yet there are no repercussions for them if they don't hold up their end of the deal. They apologized, but made it seem like we were trying to pull one over on them. THey had my credit card information, our email, we showed them the outgoing call we made to them a week prior to book the tee time, but because we never got an email confirmation from them, there's "nothing they can do"??? Hello? I have a 3 month old baby. Why on earth am I going to go through the trouble of getting her ready, out the door and off at her grandma's house by 6:45 am if I didn't actually book a tee time?!? Asinine. THey were able to get us out on the back 9, but should have offered for one of us to golf for free, not just a free cart for one of us. This was an absolutely frustrating and infuriating experience for us and we would rather patron other courses in the area if this is how Skylinks deals wtih their own mistakes. Regarding the course itself, there are a lot of bunkers, the greens are not in great shape, and the grass on the fairways could also use some work. For a course that charges so much, they really should spend that money in maintaining their course. read more

first, let me say that i don't play golf. so i can't really say anythinig about that aspect. but i did use their services for our wedding. i really wanna give them a good review but, man.... we had so much problems! when we were booking them, they were promising us a lot of things! i was very happy thinking that they do really wanna help us and take care of us. but then after i signed the contract, i couldn't even freakin talk to anyone who can help me prepare for our wedding! and few days (like a week) before the wedding, they tell me that there has to be changes made regarding the use of place! are you freaking kidding me?! seriously?!?! and on the wedding day itself, they weren't very accomodating and they were actually mean to us and even to our guests. so embarrassing. i'm giving them 2 stars because the food is actually good and they gave me a good price for it. and also for the fountain. it's pretty for the pictorials. read more

Wedding Review: Got married here a week ago (9/3/16). For the planning process, Skylinks deserves one star; but on the day of, their catering manager was fantastic and worth 5 stars. To start, in the span of 8 months, we had 3 different wedding coordinators, and the last change came right before our big day. My then fiance and I booked this location back in January 2016. At the time, the event coordinator we were working with was Ana. She was very helpful with us, and was a big factor in deciding to go with Skylinks. Within 2x months of the booking, Ana accepted a promotion and we had a new event coordinator to work with. That sucked, but was understandable. However, two weeks before our wedding, that replacement coordinator informed us she too was leaving, to go back to school. It was really unprofessional, and we would have appreciated more of a heads-up, especially since you can't just decide to go back to school but need to register and make deposits, etc etc. Another issue was the food sampling was also really underwhelming. They had a very limited selection from their menu, and we had no way of tasting the appetizers we really wanted, instead having to blindly pick since we didn't like the three options they had for us. But their catering manager/Banquet Captain, Max, was great the day of the wedding. He was super helpful and responsive, and did his best to solve the hiccups that came up. Had a 3 pm start time Sunday afternoon. Teed off at 323. At check in they said they did not have enough carts for everyone. Went back at 3 and they said there were 3 groups in front of me without carts. Layout was great. Don't really need driver on a lot of wholes. Fairways were like cement on some wholes. Greens were pretty beat up. We played 14 holes and it took us 4 and a half hours. Not coming back on the weekend. read more

First golf course review. Skylinks does not care about customer service Friend booked a two some. They paired him with a three some. I called and tried to join they said they could not do it. I asked to move times they said they are really backed up. My friend called to cancel tee time and they wanted to charge him full rate no show. They always run behind and it's time we hold course accountable not to run late on tee times. Also golf now was involved they did. It help at all either they just wanted to sell him the VIP membership then he could cancel tee time no problem. Skylinks and golf now just do not care at all about customer service. My big complaints are golf now should have a 5 some notification, if they are running behind you should be able to cancel. Golfers really have no recourse when courses are running 30 minutes behind. If you can't call and check them you are just stuck there waiting to play your 5.5 hour round. If you agree write another review so we can hold courses accountable and make them respect the customers time. read more

9/13/17 Went today at 2 pm. Only went to get a few strokes in between classes. Pretty busy due to a few highschool teams playing. Putting greens were nice, staff was very friendly. Chipping and bunker practice areas were open to the public and was decently kept. Only problem I had today was at the range where I was hitting off bumpy and near-dead grass. However having had a glimpse of how well maintained there actual course is, I would come back to try it out. read more

This review isn't much about golfing itself, just the wedding venue aspect. The pictures for this place look lovely, with the rocks and the waterfall and such, the signature place to be, but unfortunately, don't look much further, because that is the only place I found appealing about this wedding venue. The banquet room that was showed to me was very small, obviously not able to accommodate all my guests, even though they advertise that it could...thing is, they would have to seat some of the guests outside...so in essence, separating people from the party. The GREAT thing about this place is that it was the most affordable place we found...complete with kids meals! read more

I came here in search for a wedding venue and found information online, I believe recommended by HereComesTheGuide.com. Anyways! Anna is the event coordinator and she was very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. The prices aren't too bad, but the banquet hall was just too small for us (150ppl max) and we like a big dance floor. I'm sure you can rent out a bigger one but it just wasn't the right place for our wedding. I am writing the review though, because of Anna's great service and communication. She was very kind and it made for an enjoyable first experience in our search for wedding venues. read more
