I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Price- $5 on a weekday (only 2 other golfers on the course the entire time I was there and 9 holes took me about one hour) Staff- only saw one lady working inside who I paid and she was fine...I didn't see anything to speak of in terms of a pro shop to buy supplies/equipment Course- 9 holes that are all par 3; the scorecard had the wrong yardage listed according to the app (Uswing) that I was using and many of the holes were in the 140-160 range; there were a couple holes where the trees were in the way...perhaps holes #3 and #6; there were no tee markers with yardage and the tee boxes were in poor condition making it hard to put a tee in the ground; the greens were pretty green but the type of grass and the length made it hard to putt because you had to hit it so hard *to sum up this is not a great course but the price reflects that and it is hard to complain very much for $5 or $6 read more

Such a fun little course. It's my goal to play every course in LA County, so this was on the list. Compton Par 3 is a decent sized, 9 hole muni course. A few of the holes are on the long side and the greens aren't the typical flat ones you get on a course like this; they've got some undulation and some are raised. The course architecture is what makes it fun. No mats; it's nice to tee off on grass on a little muni course. The grass isn't perfect, but it's in good shape. There's nothing to buy in the clubhouse, really - I think I saw 2 shirts and some tees. There is a kitchen that has breakfast, burgers and such - I skipped that, though. I would probably come back if a friend wanted to go. read more

I absolutely love this place. Is it a Recreation 9 hole no is it a Ironwood nine no. But let me tell you what it is it's a damn good little course. Narrow fairways and lots of trees and plenty of sand. And if your unlucky enough they have water as it runs along side the LA river. The staff is awesome and you can't beat the price. read more

The set up of the course is good. The pro shop and course needs some love. Too many lows and highs on the course for a good and enjoyable walk. Been talking to the maintenance folks, but their hands are tied; no equipment to do the work with. One walking greens mower and one small riding mower to cut the entire course. Grass is really bad. Compton need to step! it up or let some company lease the course from them, so they can make it better. I will love to lease it from them. You can't beet the green's fee. read more

I have found my weekly practice course! Who would've thought that this little gem was hiding in the HUB City. I lived in the area all my life and didn't know this course existed. A good par 3, 9 hole for practicing with irons. Be weary of using your woods in this course. Greens are a bit rough. That's the only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars. The price is what seals the deal, $5 weekdays and $6 weekends, wow! There is no rushing through the course. Groups play sporadically giving you plenty of time to play through the holes. I highly recommend this course if you're a beginner like me or are on a budget. read more

A jewel. This is a good par 3 golf course if you're a beginner, especially if you're a young kid. It's not the most kept up course but for $5 bucks on weekdays and $6 bucks on the weekend, you can't beat the price. It's very chill spot if you want to play a quick 9 hole game. If you want to hone your short game skills or if you are a beginner like me and don't want to look like a complete hack when you pay good money for a par 72 course: this is your course. The staff are friendly, the fairways are tight, and the greens will make you a good putter. If you play through 9 and are having too much fun to leave, another $5 will get you another 9 holes of joy. Came back here and played after a seven year hiatus and had a great time as usual. Every hole now has it's own green. Greens run a little slow so you'll have to give your putt a little extra oomph. Really. What can you ask for in terms of quality at 5 bucks! One of the first places I started my golf career. Just a short 5 iron away from my old house, my brother and I come here to just play strictly fun golf. Chips off of gopher holes and sand bunkers filled with regular dirt. A nice little par3 9 hole in the HOOD! nice to see peeps working on their golf swing sporting baggy pants and chuck taylors! 3.5 stars This course is more East Rancho Dominguez than Compton. I went on a Saturday morning and it was relatively quiet, the play was at good pace. The course is well kept with good sized greens. At least 7 of the 9 holes are 155-160 yards long so I could not give it more stars due to the lack of variation. I would like to see them change some of the hole lengths to make it more interesting and give more variation. Cheap - $5 during the week or $6 at weekends. read more

This is a fun course, especially when you want to hone your iron skills. We teed off at 7:30am, no one else here. When we finished a couple of hours later, we were still the only ones on the course. Now you will face a lot of water! Even some of the cups were full. But only at 6 dollars per person, how can you complain. read more

So this is my home course. I got the Keyes to the castle. This is a awesome course somewhat hidden in the urban jungle in between COMPTON and Paramount. $5 Monday through Friday. $6 weekends and holidays. If playing on the weekend please respect the locals who are here every single day. Rain, wind, sun, gunshots, etc. absolutely nothing keeps me out of here except my two buddies Willie and John. They run this place and keep people in line. Please don't come with soft skin cause it's a tough group of men here. We are a family and look out for one an other. We have absolutely LOVED this course for over 20 years. We have seen many triumphs and challenges. We have enjoyed playing any time of day. It's a great place to play leisurely as well as regulars will allow you to play through if you are in a time crunch. You can beat the $5 and $6 green fees. Current situation...DO NO GO AFTER WORK. I arrived about 5:40 during the week. The flags were removed. The guy running the facility told me they close daily at 6 pm...HMMM there were at least 2 hours of sunlight left. He told me he had something to do He allowed me to go out, however as I came up 6 he waved me in. I played the 9th hole on the way in When I reached him I told him thank you. He was not friendly and seemed quite annoyed attitude. It was the FIRST time I have felt UNWELCOME. It is still an ENJOYABLE PLACE TO PLAY. With the smell of brick weed lingering in the air, we teed off on our afternoon golf game at this amazing nine hole short course overlooking the majestic Los Angeles River. Who would've thought that there would be such an amazing hidden gem in the heart of Compton, a city once known to have one of the highest homicide rates in the country. The championship tees are nicely decorated with a painted block of 2x4 and large nail, which really adds a rustic vibe to the course. The greens were challenging, I couldn't tell if I was in the bunker or the green...but the presence of mulch and the flag nearby led me to believe that my ball had indeed landed nicely on the green. As I gently putted for my first par of the day, the ball barely moved. What a tough green I thought to myself, I must've misread the line. I proceeded to pull out my wedge and hit it full power, putting the ball in the water filled Oak Island cup. I guess the par will have to wait until the next time I'm able to afford to play at this luxury resort course. read more

just got home from playing a round of golf here!! really enjoyed myself other than the weather being a little hot out there it was really fun! the course was kept pretty nice and people that work there are nice too! the holes do not differ that much but that makes it easier for me since im not a good golfer to begin with haha! i will be going there again soon it was fun! read more

I was hesitant to play here when I noticed that there was a prison located right next to the third hole. I was instantly put at ease when I saw the barbed wire fence to keep the inmates where they belong. I'm subtracting 2 stars because there isn't any visual barrier to prevent inmates from gawking at golfers. The course itself was very dark when I played. I didn't have any problems finishing my round though. Can't go wrong for $6 read more
