I got my first headshot photos done with Kimberly and Romeo this past weekend and I cannot wait to get the chance to work with them again in the future! Not only are they incredibly professional and talented in their craft, they are also very sociable and friendly. I am fairly camera shy but they both made me laugh and feel relaxed: my photos clearly reflect this. I also don't feel like I photograph too well, but somehow they managed to help me take a LOT of amazing shots. They really listened to what kind of shots I was looking for and helped me produce exactly what I was going for (if not better!). I bought a Lifebooker deal for my husband to get new headshots. As a struggling Actor it's been difficult for him to find affordable headshots that aren't amateurish looking or downright horrible. So I started looking for daily deals on various sites. Skyrider was the first one whose website made me go, "WOW!" So I bought the deal. He did the shoot about a month ago just before we moved. We got the images and I knew right away the Skyrider team was amazing. My hubby is a good-looking guy but even he can take bad picture if the photographer isn't up to par. Just about every shot is a keeper from these guys. It made choosing selects so hard though! LOL! Not a bad problem to have, right? Anyway I totally recommend Skyrider. Even without a "deal" they are worth the price. He has paid as much as $600+ in the past and he says these guys are way better. Kimberly and Romeo are the best! First of all, it's great working with a team because while one of them is worried about shooting you at your best angle, the other is focused on making sure everything in the shot is perfectly in place! Together they have a wonderful sense of artistry which is very important as well! During my shoot, I knew immediately that I was going to love my pictures because periodically Romeo would show me a few shots from his camera and I would get happy. ... Or he would show Kimberly and she would go, "BOOM!" (She's quite expressive) ;-) I love the fact that they are bringing back shooting with FILM instead of always DIGITAL, which is what most photographers use these days. Romeo shot pics of me in Digital and Film. I loved both, but my favorite was the Film. It cost a little more, but if you can, ask them to shoot you with FILM! In Kimberly's words, "It's the difference between looking at pictures of a Commercial Actress and a Leading Lady!" I don't know about you, you but I'll take Leading Lady of Commercial Actor any day of the year. I adored all my pics, but there WAS one really hard part of this whole experience..... I am typically not one to write reviews however I felt compelled after the service and images I received from Skyrider Photography. But as I perused their profile I could not help but notice the one star review. As a small business owner myself it makes me very concerned that any person, unjustified, unqualified or not can pose a threat to a small business like Skyrider. Needless to say, after reading this silly review I was even more determined to write about the true character of their business. I will start by saying that Kimberly and Romeo are very much artists. Therefore, if you are someone who cares about quality, professionalism and or artistry they are a perfect match. However, if you only want a snap shot akin to an iPhone photo or want to get in and get out, these guys are probably not the ones to see. They only shoot when the weather is right, they do wardrobe, test shots, etc. For myself, this was extremely impressive especially now when most services can be compared to a fast food drive through. I had a wonderful experience and what is more received excellent quality images. These guys are pros. And in my opinion, if you get a chance to shoot with them you better snag the opportunity - because I have a feeling they won't be this accessible for long! read more

Nothing makes me happier than to come to Yelp and see a plethora of 5 star reviews for Skyrider. They are truly deserving of every one of those accolades, so here comes another! I got my session via Groupon, and like some things Groupon, I went in with limited expectations. However, from the first correspondence with Skyrider, I received nothing but the utmost care and attention, something that I feel often goes out the window when you purchase a service at a discounted price. Kimberly was quick to respond to my booking request and after a couple of missed connections on my part, she continued to follow up with me until we had set a date. She gave me instructions regarding the shoot that thoroughly explained what they did, while never making me feel like I would be limited in giving my own input. The day of the shoot, I was warmly greeted by her and Romeo, the photographer. I know that there is a better way to describe the experience, but I just have a desire to throw out some words to describe the day: professional, friendly, unassuming, comfortable, relaxed, and fun. I could easily go on. The way the two of them worked as a team to make sure that they got the best shots while including me on the decisions really made me feel like they had my interests in mind. When you know nothing about photography, seeing someone looking over the shoulder of the photographer at previews and saying things like "Now that I like!" and "Look how well the colors work there," without being hammy or forced at all, is so reassuring to the person sitting there on the other side, hoping everything is turning out well. I couldn't be happier with my shots and wouldn't hesitate in recommending friends and strangers to go check them out. Romeo and Kim are simply AMAZING! I wanted this shoot because I get pictures every few years and they made me feel so welcome, and comfortable, and the end result is fabulous. Their attention to detail is remarkable (and I am saying this knowing well that I am a control freak myself). They are very meticulous, any errant strand of hair, every tension in my muscle, they were paying attention to it all. I am very very please with the shots and I had a great time above all. Even the test shots Romeo too were good enough to please me and leave it at that, but they took literally over 400 pictures until Romeo was pleased. I found Skyrider through Groupon, so honestly, I wasn't expecting much... but I figured it was so inexpensive, it was worth a try. It took a while of emails back and forth due to us both being busy, but they were very polite and accommodating. If there were any problems, they were caused by me. I was nervous and flustered and forgot to bring a flash drive and/or my laptop. I relaxed right away because they were so cool and calm and friendly (and have a great dog!). They assured me people forget to bring the flash drive all the time and after the session, told me the closest places to pick one up (which was very easy). I had a great experience, got some great pics, and got to keep all of the high res originals (which isn't the case with all photographers). Below is the email I sent to Skyrider Photography after my photo shoot. The email says it all. I find it interesting that Kim or Romeo never responded back to me. Hi Kim and Romeo - Thank you for the photo shoot. It was a pleasure meeting you both. I want to be honest with you and tell you that I am somewhat disappointed with the photos. I would assume that you'd want to specifically know why, so you can understand where I'm coming from. Overall, I feel that the photos are just nice. They're fine.... They're just not special. Not one of them pops out to me as an awesome representation of me or my personality and especially the brand of roles that I'm going for. Part of the problem is that I think they all look really similar. The poses are basically all the same. Perhaps that is because I was waiting for you to give me some freedom in moving around...I was just going with what you were telling me, but I never truly felt comfortable. And maybe I should have spoken up, but I was really just trying to be trusting and flexible, hoping that since I had been so specific in what I was going for, you'd be able to get that in the photos. I specifically said that I wanted my dimple on my left cheek showing, it shows my character. There are only a few photos with it showing. There was no way for me to know it was hidden while we were shooting. I am definitely disappointed about that. A lot of the photos cut off a good chunk of my hair and body. Maybe this style of framing is used for film or tv or commercial headshots, but for musical theater/opera, they are not usable. I hope that you are not offended by me being so candid. Kimberly and Romeo from Skyrider Photography made the headshot process easy for the FIRST time in my LIFE. First, I was able to set an appointment with them immediately, then their home studio was super easy to find (YAY! I love that!), and when I got there they were ready to shoot right away. In under an hour, I got the most amazing headshot of my life. Kimberly was an excellent help with some relaxation exercises that I think made a great impact in the quality of my shots, too. On top of that, I was able to get all of my images right way by bringing a MAC compatible USB drive, as they suggested. And within another 24 hours they had edited my favorite shot for me (It costs only $20)! EVERYONE loves it!!! I feel like a photo truly did capture 'me' for the first time. I'm always trying to please everyone; Agents, managers, casting directors, and I never realized how badly it showed before. It is obvious that this is the shot that will get me noticed! Even if you are not an actor, I have always felt that it is important to regularly do photo shoots for yourself. They can always be used for work, or personal, and are an important heirloom to mark a time and day in your life. If you are considering WHY to buy a photo session with them, please stop and consider WHY NOT. It is worth every penny you will spend, for millions of reasons, and if you are lucky enough to see a Groupon deal PLEASE buy it right away. Really. I took my one year old daughter here for a photo shoot and I love all the pictures. I bought the deal from groupon. Set up an appointment with them and they are super friendly. Send me emails confirmations and set up a reminder in my phone calendar. We got there and they spend some time to take my daughter's picture. They actually waited for that great shot to take her pictures. We forgot to bring a flash drive or a cd so we have to go to a local store to buy it. I found Skyrider through lifebooker. I needed to get new shots and didn't want to spend a fortune. Buying a deal can be a bit dodgy since a lot of times you get what you pay for. In this case, they were above and beyond what I paid for. I won't go into detail since all the other reviews seem to spell it out pretty clearly, but I will say that these are the best shots I've had done by far. Skyrider was seriously the best photo shoot I've ever had. Because I'm an actress I get headshots often and I've worked with a few photographers but I've never felt this comfortable. By the minute I walked in Kimberly and Romeo were incredibly warm and welcoming (which is so important if you're the kind of person who freaks out when you're getting your photos taken). They tried to find the best lighting so took some test ones first. Always asked me which kind I liked. They gave me great directions, just a little tilt in the head changes the whole thing and they know exactly which position would make you look your best! And they upload the pictures into their computer right away so you can see them. You immediately have an idea of what the pictures are going to turn out as. Unlike other places, I was given a second person on the shoot (Kimberly) who acted as an additional set of eyes.
