I had a dying 30" diameter walnut in my yard that needed to come out. It was growing at a strange 30 degree angle, leaning over our toolshed. Skyview gave us a quote that was better than the others received, so we decided to give them a try. On the scheduled day, Marisa contacted me and asked if they could come earlier than our scheduled 11am appointment. Of course that was fine with me, sooner the better! At 9:30, they showed up and went to work. I was worried that there might be problems bringing the beast down over our shed, however they were very careful not to let anything fall on it, using ropes and careful cutting to guide the limbs down to the ground. By 2:30, everything was dropped, chopped, cleared, and cleaned up. The only evidence a tree ever existed there was the chopped up bits that backfilled the stump grind, and 2 cords of split wood stacked along my fencerow. Two things I liked about Skyview: 1. Stump grinding was included in the price of the quote. 2. All of the debris was chopped into a loading truck and hauled off. The other quotes I received wanted to put the remains on the street for the city to pick up. I'd use them for sure again! read more

Jaime of Skyview's Tree Service and his crew were very professional. In a short time, they had trimmed two trees, a crepe myrtle and a maple, that had been untrimmed for a number of years. Both now have better shaping. The maple was hanging over a neighboring fence and getting too close to some telephone wires. Jaime and his crew were able to trim the overhanging branches back and still give the maple a good balanced look. They hauled away the branches and cleaned up the site really well. She saw the pictures and said it would be better if someone from her team came up in person. Bernard? (don't remember his name now) came to my place on 10/22/16 and looked at my situation. My neighbors olive tree was making tons of mess and we had a chat with Skyview, my neighbor and myself where to cut the tree to stop the mess. He took the measurements and told me that we would send me and my neighbor a proposal through email which he wrote down. It's been a week now and I haven't heard anything back. I texted and called the owner multiple times, but did not hear back. It looks like she forgot or doesn't plan on taking this job. 4/8: I'm terribly sorry but I had to edit my post the minute I realized I put the incorrect name of the wonderful Skyview Professional who was my point of contact from the beginning: his name is Noah. I'm so sorry but I have corrected my mistake. Contact Skyview and if you can ask for Noah to manage your job. I promise you will not be disappointed. I live on a private road in unincorporated Los Gatos and I learned about Skyview from a card that was left near my mailbox. I usually toss these cards because we get so many, but this card caught my eye and I decided to keep it for future reference. Some time later I had a massive tree that had been cut down by PGE last summer and they left about a 20' stump. With all the storms we've had it started to lean terribly into our street. One of my called concerned fir his daughters safety driving up and down our private road. I called Skyview on the weekend. Noah called me almost immediately. He told me he was out of the country but would be back and would call me Tuesday am and he gave me a time when he would come by to quote the job. He was early for his appointment, he was extremely knowledgeable and he was inquisitive about my property with many trees that needed attention. Even though initially I wanted to hire him for one tree I ended up hiring him to do a tremendous amount of work. He cut down massive trees that were to close to the home and he removed all the stumps; you'd never know there were trees there sans the material I asked him to chip into dust like size and leave behind. He also manicured so many trees he did work we didn't discuss but he saw that it needed to be done. And he was so incredibly impressive my neighbor Accross the street hired him to do work for her when my job was done. Noah is a true arborist, he's an artist with trees and he's so professional it's just amazing; one can get jaded with the amount of tree services who promise one thing only to disappoint and deliver something quite different then what was agreed. Not Noah, not Skyview. I don't think I'll ever use another service. The work Skyview did during the few days they were here made out property look so beautiful. And the price was very reasonable. I have had so many tree companies over the years and I can honestly say none, not one company came close to the wonderful experience I had with Skyview and its employees. They were here early and they stayed late. Just to put a little icing on the cake they left our property in better condition then they found it; they did little extra things that just made you do a sigh of relief; that you don't have to do it yourself. For example, they used a blower to make our very large patio look great, they arranged all the flower pots, potted trees etc rolled up hoses. It was little things in the end that made me sure I would be using them again and asking for Noah. The trees they manicured are growing into absolutely beautiful trees that look like they've been professionally maintained for years. And finally several of my neighbors have stopped over to ask for the name of the company who made our property look so fantastic. I'm already putting together the next job I'm going to hire them for. In closing, I read one of the 1 star reviews and I want to put my word on the line here when I tell you it makes no sense that this company could ever receive anything less than 5 stars. I just had Skyview Tree Service come out to trim my large liquid amber on the parking strip of my house and I'm very pleased. I learned about Skyview while walking in my neighborhood. I noticed one of my neighbors had just had there three liquid ambers trimmed and they looked great, not just trimmed, but artful. I asked my neighbor who trimmed them and they told me Skyview Tree Service; he told me to talk to Carlos. I called Carlos and had him to come out to give me an estimate and I told him I wanted the same climber that did my neighbors house. He said that was Amador and that wouldn't be a problem. The workers showed up on time, worked hard until the job was complete, and spent 30 minutes or so cleaning up the leaves and whatnot from my yard. They were ealier than our scheduled time, and got the whole job done in less than 4 hours, including stump grinding. They were very careful and cleaned up well, including moving back a standalone gazebo, table, chairs and plants that they had moved for the removal. Frank and his team did a GREAT job. They showed up a few min early for a review and were in the trees and cutting by the official start time. The whole crew worked their butts off all day and Frank was great as giving specific directions on how each tree should be cut. We had 2 ~60' trees completely removed as they were dying and about a dozen other trees trimmed including 2 large redwoods. I contracted Bernard for a large job, which included tree removal. A couple months after they took my money all these saplings started emerging because they hadn't ground deep enough on the roots. I contacted Marisa and Bernard. They strung me along for 6 months, saying they were going to come out to take care of it but never did. I paid them thousands for tree removal and landscaping. Now I have saplings pushing through all my new desert landscaping fabric. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend them to anyone now. read more

According to the business card the estimator, "Noah," gave me, the email address for this business is noahtreeservice@hotmail.com. I communicated with Noah in-person and "Julio" by phone, and my impression is that they are the business owners. I have two trees that shade our solar panels, and Noah estimated $850 for the job. He added that $850 is the minimum charge, and the trimmers would perform additional work if the time allowed. For the $850 estimate amount, I wrongly assumed this was an all-day job. While Noah was at the house giving the initial estimate, we discussed a couple other trimming areas besides the two trees I was concerned with. I accepted the estimate, a date was agreed upon, and Julio called to say I should be ready at 8:00am on that day to discuss with the crew exactly what I wanted and why (that the solar panels are shaded by the trees). On the day of the work, Noah arrived at 8:00, but the two trimmers didn't arrive until 9:00. Noah translated my request to the trimmers, and work began promptly following the trimmers arrival. Then I asked Noah (and I should've asked this up front) how long the work would take, and Noah said, "About three hours." Even with Noah's instruction to the trimmers, I had to ask the trimmer to cut branches still shading the solar panels. When I came out of the house later, the additional work still wasn't done, so I asked the trimmer to try again. I re-entered the house, and Julio called me on my cell phone about this problem, so I went back outside to find the trimmer speaking to Noah on his cell phone. Bottom line: The trimmer went up a third time and tried to finish the trimming to my satisfaction. The trimmers worked until 12:30pm. I'm not 100% satisfied the trimmers cut the branches in question, the overall appearance of the trees is just OK, and NO ADDITIONAL WORK WAS DONE FOR MY $850. I used my credit card to pay for the job after work was finished, and Noah told me they charge an additional 3% for credit card payments -- something he didn't mention at the time of his estimate when I asked about payment options. According to Noah's business card, this business is licensed, bonded, and insured, which is the reason I chose them. I didn't want an uninsured contractor dropping a limb on one of our solar panels -- and it's hard enough in the first place to get an estimate for this size of tree-trimming job. However, due to the quality of the work, the amount of work done for $850, and the credit card fee, I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS. read more
