I came here with one goal in mind. Try lobster for the first time in my life (I'm only 25). I got the Hot Lobster Roll not knowing what to expect. For about $30 you get a soft roll with lobster chunks, fries and a lemon slice. No drink but I knew that in advance from looking at other Yelp reviews. My sandwich wasn't very hot but kinda luke warm, not a big deal. The lobster wasn't fishy, but it had a very mild flavor that I don't know how to describe and you could really taste the sweetness of the roll. The lemon slice really enhanced the whole experience, I'm glad it was there. The item description on the menu says it's dipped in butter but I couldn't taste it. All in all it was very pretty and striking but not as flavorful as I anticipated. The fries were good & they had fry sauce which was a win for them in my books! The location was clean but definitely had a strong fishy odor which I read from another Yelper. Our service was fine, fast casual style. Yeah, this place SLAPS. We don't have restaurants like this where I'm from. A walk up and order, fairly quick, seafood place. We've been here a couple times while in town visiting friends and try to make it a point to come here each time we're there. We did notice a couple of menu changes since we've been last, but honestly, what do I care? The lobster roll is still there, and that's all that matters to me! One thing I can say is that the service has seemed to slowly decline a bit each time we've come here. Not sure if the ownership has changed, or just the management, but I'm not sure I've come across much more disinterested staff at a restaurant in awhile. In any case, the food here is good, the concept is good, and I hope they continue to grow positively and maybe even make their way to us in Northern California. read more

This place might have the most below- par lobster roll I have had in Utah. Huge disappointment. I would have given it a 2 star, but the fries were the only superb part. Trying to get silverware or napkins is a hassle. You have to ask for it even when they bring the food. Just have it out. Clam chowder. Ok. Kinda tastes like it might be Progresso from the can at the grocery store. But adding bacon and oyster crackers made it better. Not very flavorful until I added hot sauce. Lobster roll.....I only ate the whole thing because I was starving after being at the lake all day. Considering they only had 3 people working and there were no customers besides me and my kid, they could have put more effort into it. Was the driest lobster roll ever. Got the hot one. Dry lobster. Had to ask for lemons just to make it more moist. They definitely didn't use butter. Maybe have that out too! Finally the slaw. The worst!!!!! Kind of disappointed. We went to Slapfish tonight after having not been there in a while. The menu is completely and entirely different. It used to be New England comfort food. Now it's more California Coastal. They still have Lobster rolls for about $27. It comes with a small pile of fries. there's only a couple other things left from the original menu. The thing I always order is no longer available. They have the lobster roll, clam chowder, fish & chips, and what used to be called the clobster grilled cheese. Now it's called lobster and crab melt. That said, I ordered the tacos with seared Ahi and and the sesame soy sauce, and they were quite tasty. They come with chips and salsa, which aren't very good. The chips are kind of thick and the salsa is kind of tasteless, but has a funny taste at the same time. Absolutely no heat. They do not allow substitutions at all. So, you're stuck with a side you don't like. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts side. It was just ok. It needed more sauce. My husband also ordered the tacos after deciding he couldn't stomach $27 for a small sandwich and little bit of fries, and he liked them a lot. Our friend ordered the bowl with grilled shrimp and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sad they got rid of my favorites, but I would go back for the ahi tacos. Took myself out on a little late Fri afternoon lunch date and boy did I pick a good spot! Hahaha 5s on the food, the ambiance, and the company! I ordered the hot lobstah roll- definitely recommend and appreciate them flyin that bad boy all the way over here for me! The meat was savory, the roll was fluffy and buttery like it should be, and although I was bummed they forced me to get the fries instead of tossing a few lettuce leaves for a side salad on there, the fries were super tasty, too. I think Slapfish is one of my favorite restaurants! We have tried many things on the menu. My personal favorite is the fried shrimp roll, it's crispy and juicy and perfect! Get it with the Jersey sauce (white sauce). My husband loves the fish and chips or street tacos (getting 3 seem to be the perfect amount). One of us always upgrades our side to be chowder fries and then we split them. They are delicious. Not too fishy, and they blend with the fries in perfect harmony. What a pleasant surprise! I tried Slapfish with a couple of colleagues from work. At first glance it seemed a little overpriced, even for seafood. But, the food was incredible and the portion sizes we are generous. This is definitely one of my new go to spots in Lehi. They may be wearing masks but we watched kitchen help pull their masks under their chins when they thought no one was watching. I signaled to one as he came out of the kitchen to pull his mask over his nose. But as soon as he went into the kitchen, that mask came down again. I'm not sure how this spot has evaded my fingertips via review, because as it turns out, I've eaten here three times. I feel like that gives me some kind of baseline to talk about the pros and cons. My first trip here was right after they opened, and several of us met up to try it out. I of course had to go with the lobster roll. That "MP" on the menu (market price) is pretty scary and as it turns out, it was $28. I'll answer the question you're thinking of first: was it worth it? Nah. It was good. It was a lobster roll. But it was not $28 worth it. It wouldn't be $20 worth it. I'm going with $15 worth it. But I also have no affinity or devotion to lobster rolls. If you grew up on the east coast and need your fix, it might be worth it to you. I will say that the better option is the lobster grilled cheese. It's a pretty simple sandwich and for $15 it's not tapdancing on the table for you, but I liked it. I do wish it had less lobster and more cheese ($12, maybe?) but then you'd get those people out there complaining about it not having enough lobster, so I respect the decision to pack it with fish. I've had the tacos, and the Dagwood sandwich. Both great options, both more affordable, both featuring the fish, though both have a lot of other flavors going on so it's not front and center fish. As for the spot itself, I have an affinity for it; it's not particularly fancy, but I have some fun and fond memories on each visit. It's my favorite type of breading - thin and crispy which helps accentuate the juicy fish. I really liked the tartar sauce - a zing of freshness. Haven't been back since the opening where we thought the dishes were too smothered in sauce, but I gave Slapfish a second chance for lunch the other day because I was in the mood for fish and pickin's are slim around the Point of the Mountain for healthy fish. Was pleasantly surprised with the grilled wild salmon salad. Didn't need too much dressing because the flavors were enough, but the cashier recommended a tasty one that went well with salmon. Came back with my husband recently to try the fish taco (not very big, might want to order something on the side) and fish & chips (light, flaky crust). The fried pickles don't come with a dip, so ask for one if you're a dipper, but the pickled onions on top added some fun flavors. This restaurant is truly a gem, I am a lover of seafood and it satisfies all my cravings!!! They're known for their lobster menu but I branched out to try the other dishes. The power bowl is great for value, it's a huge portion with a variety of grilled seafood - shrimp is my favorite!! The tacos are good grilled (GF) or crispy but is definitely one of the more expensive tacos being $5 for one. The burrito was good too, anything with shrimp was seasoned well! We started off with their Lobster Taquitos. Their "Awesome Sauce" is a Spicy Sauce; so if you can't handle spice, ask for it without the sauce. I totally wiped off the sauce so I could still enjoy just the taquito. I thought the taquito was pretty good. The Hubby and I shared the Clobster Grilled Cheese and sadly we both weren't very impressed. The bread was ok and the sandwich just didn't have much flavor. It's surprising because that's what the guy behind the register suggested as his favorite. We also shared the Surf N Turf Lobster Burger and I enjoyed that more than my husband did. I thought it had a great overall taste and was pretty filling! I liked the way they cooked the cheese with the lobster; it made the cheese a little crispy and it enhanced the flavors! A little thing that was annoying was how small their trash cans were. I get that you don't want your small metal trays thrown away, but they are like ridiculously small, just a little bigger than the size of your hand...so that made it hard to throw away your trash when it would spill all around the tiny trash opening. Note: For all the other wimps out there that can't handle spice...their "Jersey Sauce" has a kick to it and seems to be on most of the things we had. Is Slapfish pricey? Yes. Is it tasty? 100% yes. With the check in Yelp offer I was able to get lobster taquitos, a bowl of clam chowder, and a fish taco for ~15 bucks. 1. Lobster taquitos are soooo good. They're perfectly fried and sauced. They're the perfect way to start a meal here. 2. Clam chowder was good but I think the the "bowl" servicing size isn't worth the price. I felt it was really similar to the cup size, even though I know you get more oz in the bowl. If you want to try it as side to your entree, the cup will do. 3. The fish taco as a whole is amazing. The tortilla is big, the fish is a good size and perfectly fried. The sauce is tasty and acidic which is really refreshing. I also enjoyed the slaw that added good texture and freshness. The fish itself had no seasoning. I took a bite of it by itself and it was super bland. Together with the taco and the other flavors you couldn't taste how bland the fish itself was. Overall, Slapfish may not be an everyday meal due to cost but it's definitely fresh and delicious. read more

Sadly one of my favorite places has been eliminated. Slap fish was known for its pop of flavor and impressive fish tacos. The crispy cod fish tacos are ( WERE) generous portions of flaky cod . The new menu change has included the downgrade of these tacos to merely a fish stick in a tortilla. ( also a downgrade tortilla that doesn't hold up while eating ) The second favorite item ( although very expensive) was the lobster taquitos . Those have been permanently removed from the menu. I am absolutely devastated with the menu change. This place isn't what it used to be and I don't think I will be able to come back unless a number of modifications are made. I used to absolutely love slap fish. I worked here when I was 19. I used to recommend it to everyone. I'm unable to do that now. I went a couple weeks ago and... first off, the service was below average, they removed half the menu items including multiple items that were unique to the old slapfish that you were/are unable to get anywhere else and it's very disappointing. I was looking forward to getting the classic grilled shrimp roll that I've been ordering for over five years and that was no longer on the menu, that one was of the biggest disappointments. I'm a shrimp fanatic. They no longer have a rotational fish menu with 4-5 options. No more hoki. They do not allow modifications of any kind anymore which I also think is absolutely ridiculous and will lose you business. No more classic clobster. No more surf and turf crab and lobster burger. Sauce's changed. No more street tacos. No more lobster taquitos. 99% of the menu is different. I got the fish and chips and they used boring cod. Cod is fine but it's way too commonly used. The hoki was 500X better. Even the fries are different and no longer good. The portion of fries given with your meal is absolutely ridiculous as well. Got a double fish and chips and the fries.... Come on. I got like 10-12 fries max. The ambiance used to also be better. It just looks impersonal and basic now. I wish I had better things to say. The only good thing is the drink options now, I did not particularly like the old Boylan brand sodas. read more

I don't know how they could have destroyed something that used to be so dang good! My husband ordered the same thing but it didn't even LOOK the same! His was 'good' mine was awful!
