I can't believe Dollies's serves similar style soup and salad and it brought back so much nostalgia. However I think Dollie's does it better! The soups are chunkier. This is a rebranded Sweet Tomatoes, and has the same charm. I'm here for the greens and salad fixin's, but they also have soup, pasta + accessories and destserts. They have a wait staff to "take care of you", and their system is to have you pay after you sit down, but near the start of your meal. I like this as you don't need to wait around for the-check-dance at the end. The foods seem fresh - no bad lettuce or spinach (a feat!) so I've been back a time or two to meet with friends and coworkers. I like this place for lunch meet-ups because you don't need to wait for everyone to arrive to start. A bonus for groups who need to get back to meetings, etc. read more

I was in deep mourning for the loss of the previous tenant of this establishment. Let me tell you that Dollie's is a significant improvement. We stopped in before a show at Hale. It being buffet style means we can control our timeline. Pretty standard salad bar. The pasta salads were all incredible, minus the tuna tarragon one. It was so sweet. No candy pasta for me. The soups were where I felt Dollie's really shined. I tried 4 of them and they all had an incredible depth of flavor. My favorite was the mushroom but they were all fantastic. I went into the buffet. I loaded up my plate with salad, then grabbed a couple of half bowls of soup and some hot pasta. The building was so over air conditioned, I was freezing. All of my hot food went cold very quickly. And by hot I mean that if the Board of health went in checking temptations the so called hot food in the steam table would not have passed inspection. I sat down to enjoy my lunch. but it was so cold, I could hardly eat. The food itself was mediocre at best. I finally had to leave to get warm. When i asked for a to go container I was refused. They advertise To Go meals, but refuse to allow customers to take home leftovers. Of course, I'll never go back for the cold aptosphere, high prices, and mediocre, Luke warm food. And their attitude about serving customers. They ask you to tip at the beginning of the meal. Don't do it. Take cash and tip after the fact. Better yet, don't go there at all. read more

I am not one for AYCE salad bars, but I would come to this one again. Good food at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the salad bar offerings, everything was presented nicely and everything was fresh. No browned or wilted lettuce leaves. A good variety of everything else. The soups were very good. I really enjoyed the clam chowder and the beef chili. They really had a nice mint lemonade. I had several glasses it was so good. Very pleasant experience. Nice booths, nice atmosphere. I believe that this used to be a Sweet Tomatos. Same layout. (I'm new to Sandy) and this has been open only two years. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. I love soup and salad; this is my type of spot. The salad bar has a great variety. Beyond that, my favorites were the mint and strawberry lemonade and the clam chowder. They also have pasta, muffins, cheese pizza, and soft serve ice cream. Quality is all as-expected for a buffet. We got there right when they opened and it was all very clean and well-organized. If you know souplantation or sweet tomato this place is pretty much the same. I'd it's 90% similar with minor differences. The price was a solid value for a buffet $15 imo. Dreaming of Dollie's! The other weekend I woke up craving a buffet. I needed a big BIG salad in my life. There just easiest many places like this around any more and everyone knows it. We went in on a Saturday around lunch and the place was popping. We were able to find a seat but throughout or time we could see other groups searching for a spot. We filled out plates with fresh ingredients and cleared our plates pretty quickly. We loved our salads, soup, pasta and muffins! The fresh muffins were a dream. My daughter loved the soft serve ice cream too. We did not like the pizza and it did take a lot of time for a server to stop my our table and offer drinks. That's my reason for a 4/5. Ever since we found out about this place (2023), we have been going here every month or every other month since we do miss Souplantation, but this is literally just like Souplantation. It's pretty awesome. Salad is really good, soup is really good as well, and the sides are awesome. Although idk why they put such small plates for the sides. My favorite is their chicken wonton salad that is premade, and to top it off with their Clam Chowder with Sourdough bread. Service is fine, my only comment is that it's so weird for them to just come up to you while you are barely starting your first plate and to make payment. What's even more awkward is that the devices they are using is already asking for a tip. Normally, customers would tip servers after they have finished eating, based on the service they received. But not before? That's just my only comment that reduces a star from this place. Ambiance is also awesome, can get loud at times if it's filled with a lot of people. I am a soup fiend so I love coming to dollies to start off with a healthy salad followed by a tasting of there rotating six soups. I often will try at least 4, gravitating towards the mushroom and the clam chowder. The restaurant can get busy especially on Saturdays for lunch. Sometimes they will get your payment before sitting, other times after you've found a table. The server doesn't do much but bus your table so I'm not keen that the starting tip % is 15% and up which is high for a buffet. The restaurant is reminiscent of sweet tomatoes and other similar restaurants but I think their soup options and quality is much better. Seating is plentiful and comfortable but can be a bit tight walking through. In addition to fresh soups and salads I really enjoy their freshly baked muffins, particularly the cornbread and my daughter loves the mini ice cream cones. I do wish there were more protein options and not just pasta and pizza for the kids but for less than $18 person which includes beverages and free for kids 3 and under it's a pretty good deal. read more

The only dessert they have is ice cream. Chuck-A-Rama is cheaper and they have a huge dessert bar, they have a meat startion and a lot more and it's cheaper. The restaurant was really clean and service was good too. The salad bar was fresh and they had so many great options! The Mac and cheese was super creamy and I loved the Alfredo as well. The clam chowder was pretty good but needed more seasoning in my option. The pizza bread was alright and I felt like it needed some garlic or more seasoning as well. We've been to Dollie's at least four times. I was so excited when this spot opened (I was so sad when Sweet Tomatoes closed). Since it's a buffet, you can expect a bit higher price point. When you walk in, you grab a tray and go through the salad bar. Then you find a table. There's a self-serve soda fountain. I really like the limeade! After you sit, a server comes and introduces themselves. They do check on you, but mostly they just take your payment and bus the table as you're done with plates. All my servers have been incredibly friendly. This spot is very reminiscent of Sweet Tomatoes. There's a soup area, a pasta bar, breads/pizzas/rolls, and soft serve. My only lament is that the protein options are pretty limited. You'd need to load up on something containing protein at the salad bar. All of the food is decent. Nothing blows me away. It's mostly the buffet and comfort food aspect I return for. If you need a lot of comfort food and you're in the area, Dollie's is worth a stop. It does get busy, so if you're going for dinner, get there early! That said, I've never stood in line for any of the food; it moves quickly. read more

I am so jealous that Utah has an all-you-can-eat soup and salad! Dollie's is my new favorite place to eat in Utah. So this place opened up a few months ago in the previous Sweet Tomato location. The name is different, but everything else is the same -- the salad bar, pasta bar, soup station, breads/pizza/muffins, ice cream, and soda station. All of the food selections were identical to the old establishment. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Dollie's Soup and Salad find their way to San Diego! Diet version of a buffet. I was really hoping for more when it came to the price and offerings of this place. I left feeling like there was more to be desired. The staff was kind and friendly once you actually meet them but they need to have an attendant for the new customers because instructions where unclear about how and where you pay and that you seat yourself. The place is clean and fairly quiet. However, for a salad bar I felt like it had less variety of options than Chuck-A-Rama and the soup options were lacking as well. I like that the dressings and soup are supposedly homemade from scratch but honestly it wasn't anything outstanding. The offering outside of the soup and salad seemed to be strange in variety including honey butter without the options of rolls to put the on just sour dough bread and muffins as a dessert. I've been on a roll lately. Got done with a little Mini Golf over at Mulligans and it was 100 degrees outside. We were all hungry for dinner, but also super hot. So I thought, "salad might be nice." This place was 6 minutes away. Surprised at how great it was. I would say this compares to a super clean Souplantation. Food was good. It was a busy dinner hour with lots of children running around getting pizza pasta and desserts - the ice cream area was very popular! I'm sure it makes it easier for parents to have their children do their own service and most well behaved. It's a buffet all you can eat for soup, salads, and small selection of pastas. The ambiance is a modernized Sweet Tomatoes. You don't pay upfront and pay at the table. My family and I came here as a joke/last resort when looking for a lunch option that would satisfy everyone. But I'm not joking when I saw Dollie's was way better than any of us were anticipating. When we were kids, my parents would take us to Sweet Tomatoes/Soup Plantation because they knew there would be something for everyone. And Dollie's is no different!
