    Homemade Mac and Cheese

It was tasty, but I didn't get that "Nashville vibe." I ordered #3, which is 1 Slider and 1 Tender w/ Seasoned Fries, Slaw, Pickles. I ordered it medium spice...and while it had good flavor I wasn't getting any spice at all, not even a hint. The sauce on the slider was tasty, as was the slappin' sauce. The homemade Mac and cheese was okay. It wasn't overly cheesy. Cheese sauce was your basic cheese sauce. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here, but if someone wanted to go I wouldn't say no.

Very overrated food. I was told this was going to be a better Dave's Hot Chicken and it was no where near close. Very disappointed. It's not necessarily bad but just mid, nothing to rave about. Service was not bad or good really, you order on a kiosk and some one calls your name when your food is ready so it takes the humanity out of ordering food. The ambience was that of a modern trendy food place in NYC , hard to explain but also, not anything noteworthy.

What a gem!! I'm still dreaming over their Oreo pudding!! Generous portions, average price is $15 and I def came home with leftovers. Completely worth the trip! Mac bowl was my fav!!!

This was a delightfully different experience! I found the mild spice level to be just right, hitting that sweet spot without being overpowering. The service was also decent.

SCAMMY "banana" pudding that doesn't have ANY banana in it. I called up and they said they don't put bananas in it nor does it have any banana flavor . What?! So why do you call it that? Just call it pudding? Very misleading. It just tastes like whip cream with soggy cookies.

#1 Slappin Plate & #5 Slappin Mac Bowl
    Lynn D.

We ordered the #1 slappin plate which was 2 Sliders w/Seasoned Fries, Slaw, & Pickles, the #5 mac & cheese bowl with hot tenders, & (not pictured) the oreo pudding. All of it was delicious (especially the oreo pudding) & the servers recommendations were so on point! If you want comfort food this is the place!

Unfortunately business has changed and is under new ownership. The food used to be HMS certified meaning they used to follow Hand slaughter meat protocol. And used to under go surprise monthly inspections. NO LONGER SUITABLE FOR MUSLIMS TO EAT! Very unfortunate since there are few spots in LI that are Zabiha halal.

First time at slappin chick. Chicken tenders were outstanding. Delicious, Juicy, and the sauce they give you on the side is fantastic. I recommend asking for honey on the side. Food was fast and very affordable.

I don't want to be "that guy" but I've been to Nashville. I've had Nashville style chicken, this is not Nashville chicken. It's not Nashville Style chicken, not even the spirit of Nashville Hot Chicken. In Nashville, they take a juicy piece of freshly fried chicken and toss it in a kicked up oil. What is served to you is a juicy piece of chicken that's often imitated but not duplicated. Slappin' Chicken did not duplicate Nashville Hot Chicken. But Oh is it hot! I walked into a strange, stark looking restaurant with a few tables. Looking at the menu choices, I chose one tender and one slider with fries. I added a can of Coke and the total price was $18 bucks. What the counter person brought to my table was interesting. Two big chicken tenders rolled into a dry, spicy rub. I ordered medium heat and boy did it get me. I was tearing up half way thru. The fries are also seasoned with spicy dry rub. Overall, nice fresh chicken tenders rolled in some heat. Is this Hicksville style chicken? I came looking for Nashville chicken. I'm just passing thru, I don't frequent Hicksville so I will not be returning.

Oh, this place is good, like, really good! I had seen a lot of rumblings about this spot on Instagram and decided on a cold Friday night to try it out. There wasn't a line when we arrived, however, they had several takeout orders on their way out and a man taking non-stop calls for new orders. They only offer 4 items - tenders and fries, slide and fries, tender & slider combo w/ fries, and loaded fries. It's a small menu but they do it well. The spice scale also goes from country style which is based fried chicken to Slappin+ which is HOT HOT HOT! I decided to try the tender combo at the hot level. After about 10 minutes our food was ready to go and we took it home to eat. Upon seeing it I could immediately tell this was real deal Nashville fried chicken (I've been to Nashville and knew what to look for). The chicken was fried to perfection with the perfect amount of heat baked into the breading. The fries were sprinkled with heat and were delicious dipped into the honey and slappin sauce they provided. The slider also looked tasty and both entrees came with two slices of bread. It was perfection from start to finish. Prices are fair, there is some seating inside but definitely more of a grab and go type place. Lots of spots previously in this location have come and gone so I am hoping this one sticks around. Parking is tricky and the reason I have to dock a star.

We got the slappin chick for takeout. I got the mild, my sister got the medium and my other sister got the spicy. Honestly, even the spicy wasn't really that spicy. As for the proportions and the chicken itself, these chicken sliders were definitely pretty big, I was only able to finish one. The chicken was crispy and I loved the sauce they put on top. I think the sauce really brought the whole slider together. The crinkle cut fries were alright, they were crispy on the outside but because they are crinkle cut and much thicker I think it needed more seasoning for the flavors to come through. Overall a very solid meal and I would come back and try it again!

This chicken place is def SLAPPIN the menu is simple and to the point, the chicken is the closest you can get to Nashville taste in New York for sure! I got the "hot" spice and it was delicious especially after adding some honey. I love this place and will be back for sure. The service was fast and great Ps love the neon sign lol

First time trying Slappin Chick and the presentation was A1!!! However, the taste of the food didn't live up to the looks. It was okay, mediocre. It tasted more like a powdery seasoning in my mouth. The fries were mushy & the chicken wasn't spicy at all. However, their slappin sauce is delicious. I don't know if I will visit again but it is a good atmosphere.

Garlic Chili Noodles (3.5/5): Pretty good noodles, not very spicy but good flavor and consistency. Hakka Chili Chicken (4/5): I liked this chicken, but my dining partner did not. Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn when we found what appeared to be a bug in the food. After some back and forth the owner ultimately became very aggressive and said "if you want me to deal with this issue personally you can come in person and we can handle it like men" to my older brother which felt threatening. We left the interaction feeling disrespected, intimidated, and completely disgusted with how our concerns were handled. We were unable to reach a resolution or receive a refund despite raising what we believed was a serious food safety issue. Finding a literal insect in a meal is concerning enough, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the way we were treated afterward. From one Muslim person to another- that man had no kindness in his heart. I truly hope the restaurant shuts down or that man ends up on the street bc he's not taking food safety concerns seriously.

I ordered the mixed chicken and lamb over rice with a side of French fries, loaded with both white sauce and barbecue sauce. The platter was massive and beautifully layered. The chicken was tender, juicy, and packed with warm spices, while the lamb was perfectly seasoned, thinly sliced, and had that rich, savory flavor that pairs so well with the fluffy, flavorful rice. The French fries were crispy and mixed right in, adding great texture. I loved the contrast between the cool, creamy garlic white sauce and the smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. They complemented the meat perfectly and I ended up drizzling extra on every bite. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, but it made for an amazing lunch the next day too. I also got the lamb gyro with white sauce on the side. The pita was soft and warm, stuffed generously with thinly sliced, marinated lamb that was crispy on the edges and super flavorful. Fresh tomatoes, onions, and lettuce added a nice crunch, and that signature creamy white sauce tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was juicy, savory, and downright addictive.
