Chowder is really good! Wish I would have tried the tri tip sandwich because did not care for the corndog. It was fairly greasy, which I know, it's fried, just wasn't my favorite. Kinda pricey for a walk up, but everything is pricey on the central coast. Glad I tried someplace different while I was in town!

So much fun! Right off the beach, easy parking and really nice people serving AMAZING FOOD! Everything I heard about the tri tip is true, it is the BEST. Reasonable price for a big beefy sandwich

Fish and chips were bomb! Very large pieces and made fresh. Service was good and [[HIGHLIGHT]]its a classic beach side vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you are hitting the dubes and are hungry, hit this spot up!

    My car being unreasonably towed

Sooo ate here and my car got towed as I was eating and only here for 20 minutes by the way. I now have to pay $250 for my car to be put down on top of some mid clam chowder. Do not come here. Also: they gave me regular instead of Diet Pepsi.

Fat burritos at a fair price! The service wasn't super fast but I guess that's how you know it's fresh! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not a lot of room for dining but slaps is right next to the beach![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was the perfect burrito for my hangover!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]If you are looking for a nice chowder spot that has easy access to the dunes and off the normal busy parts of Pismo then this is a nice spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The street outside can get busy with recreational vehicles going in and out constantly but it also adds to for great people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Slappys is a great place for breakfast and/or lunch. From breakfast burritos to corn dogs to chowder. All the classics done right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Warms up the foodie soul on the nice chilly Pismo beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I think there are addictive properties in the clam chowder. My sister had the tri tip chili cheese fries, and said they were amazing. The kids all had ice cream and shaved ice every day that we were there. Can't wait to go back when we go to Pismo!

Came here for the first time and let me tell you, the chowder here is amazing!!!! The bread was freshly toasted and perfectly paired with the clam chowder soup! We also had their tri tip sandwich sang their tri tip burrito, I think I'll favor the burrito more because I didn't want to keep dipping. For those who don't like good touching, stick with the sandwich. The guy serving us gave us great recommendations and service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has the perfect location! Right before the dunes entrance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Menu is easy to read and simple to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Grab some food and picnic on the beach![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a table if you wanted to eat there but really, the beach is within walking distance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Perfect stop and great CS. Will definitely return, tomorrow!

Everything is fresh, made to order and 10 times more flavorful with varying levels of salsa. I came here for lunch twice during my 3-day stay here and loved every taco I had (fish, birria, carne asada and al pastor). Tuesdays- $2.50 tacos with a purchase of an agua fresca! I got the horchata and it was creamy, cinnamony and not too sweet! Order at the register and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready. The food comes out within minutes! The al pastor burrito was packed with perfectly seasoned meat and well-balanced ingredients, while the beef cheese quesadilla was warm, satisfying, and generously filled. You can tell they put real care into both the taste and presentation. Beyond the food, the whole experience felt elevated by the atmosphere. The space has a cool, modern vibe while still feeling welcoming, and everything was spotless--it honestly looks brand new and very well maintained. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable lingering a bit longer and enjoying your meal. The only small downside for me was that the chips and salsa were served at the same time as the main dishes. I would have preferred to have them brought out earlier as a starter, just to enjoy them before the meal arrived. Overall, it's more than just a quick bite--it's a place we'd gladly come back to for both the food and the inviting environment.

Came in without reservations around 7:00pm and hostesses said it would be about a 30 min wait - they were both very friendly and offered any available seats at the bar as we waited. Pretty sure we ended up getting seated before 30 min and our waitress, Lizzie, came right up to ask for any drinks, brought us warm bread, and was back with our waters and drinks really fast! She took our order (gave us the extra time we needed to make up our mind without feeling rushed), set us up with small plates since we were sharing everything we ordered and in no time brought our food right out. We ordered: **Mussels but with the garlic/wine/butter sauce - We did not want that sauce to go to waste once we ate all the mussels. Lizzie gave us another basket of bread to get every last drip! **Dozen of the fresh oysters - They were so fresh and sweet! **Bowl of Clam Chowder - Yummm! Perfect thickness and seasoned perfectly **Fish and Chips - the fish was soooo fresh and melted in your mouth! **Seafood pasta - so good! Sauce was thicker than what I've but in a good way and covered the noodles magnificently! A good amount of seafood was in the dish - the scallops were the best! All in all, it was a great dinner! Food was on point, service was great throughout - very attentive and friendly, atmosphere was lively, price is very reasonable for the quality and amount of food we ordered. We will be definitely be back and would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Pismo!

This is in regards to the catering. I looked up La Parilla, there are several locations in SLO…read morecounty, and I just picked one in AG since i'm closest to that one right now, and it's the same logo as what is on the catering truck with the same name So i'm guessing, it's the same owner/operator as the catering. I waited 45 minutes and paid $6 dollars for this piece of crap (will attach a pic) i got the vegetarian taco, which you would think they could at least add some cheese to it for flavor but nope. Also, for a place called "The gril", you would think that the vegetables WOULD actually be grilled, but no, they were not. The rice was dry, and the beans had no flavor. I literally could not eat it and left half of it there. My server felt so bad she insisted on not taking a tip. So because of this crappy company, my server did not get a tip. I would have insisted, but I didn't have cash, and she would not allow me to add a tip to my card charge because she knew I waited 45 minutes for a fu*king vegetable taco ‍ Honestly, I think they screwed up and forgot, because there's no way it should have taken that long, and she knew that....she kind of flinched and grimaced, and she said "I'm sorry, I think they got backed up" and kind of rolled her eyes as if to say, I think they fu*ked up, she even said quietly to me "I think maybe they forgot". This was for the live music event on Friday, 6/19 at Claiborne & Churchill. The music was great, The servers/ wine stewards were amazing, but the food was horrible. At least my taco was. if I ever see La Parilla serving food again anywhere I am, I will not order anything! BLECH. Oh, also I asked for no onions, and they couldn't even get that right. In one of my pictures, you will see onions that I pulled aside on the plate. I could have pulled aside more, but I was wolfing down what I could after waiting 45 miinutes for a frigging shit*y vegetarian taco that was crap when I got finally got it. NOT worth the wait. No cheese, no sour cream, no guacamole....just dry rice, flavorless beans, and a few pieces of bell pepper, plus onions - which I asked to NOT HAVE. What a pathetic, underflavored, overpriced taco. Ironically, I drove by Hannah's tacos food truck earlier, and I should have just bought some tacos from them. They are, I think $3 per taco, and 10 times better than this crap was
