Easily some of the best seafood tacos in Pismo. We stopped in 2x during our 24-hours in Pismo. Mariscos El Picosito ("the spicy one") lives up to its name--each table comes stocked with a fiery lineup of hot sauces. Fresh, flavorful seafood with solid turf options, too. Quesadillas and burritos are generously filled; tacos are a MUST. They open at 8am for desayunos (breakfast) with all the classics--eggs any style, chorizo, chilaquiles, burritos, and more. Highly recommend the pulpo tacos--grilled queso-birria style with tender, lightly charred octopus. So good we ordered them twice. Fast service, friendly team, and a vibrant mural throughout. TVs front and back make it a great low-key World Cup spot by the pier--such a fun surprise. Tempted to gatekeep, but you know I had to share with my Yeeps. Picosito? More like sabrosito! This place is delicious squared. Add in the charm and amazing, friendly customer service and it gets a 10/10 from me. I ordered the Campechana, and the portion was huge! My wife had their fish tacos and fries. It'll definitely be my place to stop at every time we're in town because I definitely want to try the rest of their menu. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday during lunch hour. I inquired about their tacos gobernador to make sure they were careful about food allergies. They assured me about the ingredients and confirmed them to me. I went ahead and ordered 4 of them. As soon as I got it and tasted it, I knew it had that freshly made flavor. For 4 tacos I only got one container of salsa which also had a good flavor and it blended well with the flavor of the tacos and lime. I ended up asking for extra salsa and limes. Definitely need it for 4 tacos. They said it had pico de gallo but don't assume that it's the fresh pico de gallo we always get, it was cooked with the shrimp. I would definitely come back again for the exact thing. There were more items on the menu that looked good so I will be trying out other items next time The place is a little small, but that's a normal thing at Pismo. This is our 4th time coming to this hidden gem walking distance from the pier! We've had the shrimp cocktail, the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and this time we tried the homemade guacamole and tacos gobernador which were amazing! Made a pit stop in Pismo Beach for breakfast as we were heading up north and found this cute little gem. The service was excellent and the place was very clean. We ordered breakfast burritos and an order of shrimp ceviche. It didn't disappoint and was delicious. The burritos were big enough to share if you're not that hungry because the portions were a bit large. I wanted a smaller portion so I got the ceviche which hit the spot and was still very filling as well. My only regret is not taking pictures of the food. read more

Would definitely come back here to try more of their food. My husband and I got several tacos: 1 asada (8/10), 1 lengua (6/10; needed salt and was a little dry), 1 gobernador (8/10), 2 shrimp (8/10), and 2 pulpo (10/10; better than the shrimp gobernador imo; was not as chewy as I thought which was great). We also got a tostada de ceviche de pescado and that was a solid 8/10. For me, it does feel a little cramped to eat in the restaurant since it's really small. Also, It does feel kind of warm in there too during the summer months (I guess there's no AC which I know can be common in these areas). I knew something was off from the first bite i took of the pastor taco it tasted nothing like ive had before and about an hour later i start constantly throwing up until the next day and i went back for a refund and i politely told the chef what happend and asked for a refund he refunded it but told me to start eating at home because i told him the meat was bad and made me sick he was disrespectful and didn't care about the meat making a customer sick. read more

The food was great!! You can tell it was fresh & made on the spot because it took awhile but so worth the wait. OMG I had an octopus taco which was over the wall cheesy & octopus was soft & fresh with a house made salsa sooooo good. Also had a shrimp taco ... wow so good. The place is next to the beach. Great menudo with hand made tortillas and fish tacos. Love the large variety of bottled salsas on the table. The coffee was so good and rich. It's in the middle of a tourist area, but the prices are reasonably. It is steps from the beach so you can walk off the great meal. This is the new Sheriff in town! Totally authentic food and the prices are great! The burritos aren't humongous but the flavor makes up for it. The menudo is flavorful and not greasy or overpowering and it comes with 3 huge homemade corn tortillas. We tried the Pastor, Carnitas, and Asada tacos and the bean burritos are amazing...go figure! It's a very small place but I think it's just perfect. As it got busy after we came in during dinner hours. They had birria on their menu but had a note that they ran out. Their food is quite fresh and authentic although it lighter on the seasoning for our taste. The shrimp and squid ceviche was the best. My ceviche didn't come out fast like the others as I think they forgot about my order, but it was loaded. All I can say was it was fresh. Service was good. The price was reasonable but my ceviche was well worth it. You'll need a key for the restroom. The location is next to the yogurt place and 1/2 a block to the view of the water. read more

Ceviche is traditional and delicious- add one of the many hot sauce options to kick it up. Amazing food!! Went here three times on vacation and it did NOT disappoint once. They have a great taco Tuesday deal but even their regular menu is very reasonably priced (even for a touristy area). Came here with the family during a day trip and stumbled upon this hidden gem for Mariscos. We ordered the shrimp ceviche tostadas, Cali burrito, garlic shrimp, and the caldo de camarón .... and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The meats are delicious. The aguas frescas are homemade if they are in a decanter huge jar. The best menudo on weekends. The reason being is the head chef Olivia. Delicious, friendly and affordable. We ate here with my whole family all ages while visiting Pismo on Sunday and we loved everything from the menu.
