My buddy and I went here a few weeks ago. The fish and chips were PERFECT. Ignore the reviews with people saying they're overpriced. This place uses actual good quality fish and they CHANGE THEIR OIL! This is California. Food costs are high. $26 for FOUR pieces of quality fish is amazingly cheap. Wow. Life has kept me away from Pismo for a while. Came in today excited for something I've enjoyed all my life. Sadly, nowhere near expectations. Two orders of fish and chips. Small and medium. Small without batter. Plates come out, and the first thought is "Wow. Those are small pieces. And hardly any fries." Started eating. Either the fish was frozen to the point of freezer burn, or they were just old and poor quality. This place used to have flaky, fresh tasting fish (for being fried). This was dense, rubbery, and impossible to get through. Lots of it had grey color. Ate what we could. About two pieces total. All the old faces were gone. Service seemed fine, lots of younger servers standing around talking. They weren't busy for lunch. Had 2x the necessary staff for what we saw. It's sad. I left actually sad for what used to be my favorite fish and chips in the world. I honestly don't know if I'll walk in those doors again. read more

I stopped in to grab a bowl of clam chowder, well because it's what you have to do when you're in Pismo. Coming to Pismo and not having clam chowder is like going to Hawaii and not having spam, it's simply just not done! The chowder here is really good nice and meaty super enjoyable. Family of 5 ordered clam chowder, salmon and chip, halibut and chips and halibut tacos. My younger son really enjoyed his tacos and oldest had the salmon and chips that was moist and tasty. My halibut and chips was moist and not fishy at all. The fries I really enjoyed perfect crisp on the outside and moist on inside. Clam chowder is more on the chunky and hearty if u like it that way. Hi!! Our LARGE family came by while camping at North Island Campground Pismo Beach. 22 of us walked in and they accommodated us immediately. Everyone was very welcoming and sweet. The ambiance is very open with a lot of space. We had the Grilled Sourdough Bowl with Cam Chowder topped with Dungeness Crabs, Fried Oysters, Grilled Halibut Trio and Grilled Shrimp. There was a lot of food with leftovers to bring back to camp. It was a great experience and definitely family friendly with kids ranging from 4 to 8. read more

I highly recommend Getting the halibut fish and chips. The clown chowder looked delicious so we asked for a sample and we were actually happy that we did not order it.
