This place rules. The coffee is always delicious, with a rotating selection of seasonal flavors made in house as well as several non-dairy milk options. Some of the flavors are what you might expect, and some are really unusual and special, with fruits, spices, herbs, and sometimes glitter making an appearance on the menu. Whatever you get to drink, it will be delicious. The baked goods are unreal. They are probably best known for their cinnamon buns and doughnuts, which are always excellent but are only available on certain days and only in limited quantities, so be sure to follow them on Instagram and check before you head over, because they will fly out of the cases. However, there's always something else delicious to try. The maple biscuits are a staple, and they are legendary, flaky and sweet and just the right amount of finger-licking sticky on top. There is usually a sweet and a savory flavor of scone, and every variety I've tried has been incredible. I've also had some unbelievable slices of cake here - rosemary olive oil cake and apple butter cake were two particularly memorable ones, but you can't go wrong with anything that comes out of the Sleeping Bird kitchen. There are also bagels, sandwiches, and salads, and there are some vegan and gluten-free menu options. The store itself is beautiful inside. The decor is bold and eye-catching, with lots of plants, bird knickknacks, and possibly the most beautiful wallpaper I've seen in a coffeeshop. There are several tables, cozy chairs, and a large and clean bathroom. These are all reason enough to come to Sleeping Bird, but if you need another, that would be the staff. The owners are friendly and dedicated to creating awesome food and a good ambiance. All of the employees and friendly, knowledgable, and skilled at what they do. This is a self proclaimed safe space for the queer community, which is so important and needed. From the owners to the employees to the customers, this is a store where it feels like everyone actually wants to be there and cares about having a nice, chill time. read more

Sleeping Bird is me and my wife's favorite place to go for great coffee and excellent breakfast. The avocado toast with smoked salmon and the strawberry toast with marscapone cheese, creme brûléed brie and balsamic glaze are both freaking delicious! They also have freshly made pastries they bake on-prem and breakfast sandwiches. It's got a great vibe and they support local businesses and artists by letting people put flyers and business cards on a countertop next to the cashier station. We were also happy to recently wait in an early morning line at the new Sleeping Bird Donuts and walk out with a delicious dozen. They were unbeatable, freshly made, and unique in flavors. We ended up sharing them with anyone who walked into our house throughout the weekend and everyone was impressed with what Sleeping Bird is putting out. Keep up the great work, Sleeping Bird! Great new coffee spot! Friendly staff, delicious and fair priced food, and of course lots of coffee and a wide variety of flavors for your lattes and cappuccinos! I tried the avocado toast which came on fantastic sourdough, with avo of course and capers, dill, onion.... very good and filling for $7. My companion went with the salmon bagel - everything bagel toasted with arugula, red onion, capers, and she added jalapeño cream cheese. Not sure where bagels come from (def not made in house) but it was fresh and delish! Bonus points for cute branding and fun mugs, t shirts, etc. I'm sure I'll cave and buy one eventually! Came here on a recommendation from a friend who had tried their food truck. We had their regular iced coffee, a flavored latte, and their avocado toast. Everything was super good and despite being swamped, service was fast and friendly. The avocado toast was super yummy with some dill, capers, and a good amount of flaked sea salt. It is definitely something I will be coming back to have again. The plain coffee was good, but their lattes seem to be a big draw. They have a lot of unique flavors that look really good. I've popped into Sleeping Bird twice now and it's very cute. I would recommend following them on instagram so you're aware of what's going on with them. They usually have specials, including limited specialty donuts on week days. The first time my husband and I came in, we grabbed a latte each and split a lox bagel (I forget the specific name). It was on an everything bagel, the bagel was really good, with seasoning on both sides - but it was surprisingly more seasoned than I would've hoped - just not for me - but I'm sure a lot of people would love that. The second time I stopped in hoping to grab a lemon mascarpone donut but they had sold out and only had peanut butter fluff filled donuts left. The donuts were really good, a sugary, fried masterpiece. The filling was super sweet and I couldn't eat all of it. I think I would have preferred the lemon mascarpone. The donuts are worth popping in to grab if you're already in the area and know they're available but I would never stop here just hoping to get one because they sell our super quickly. I believe they make a tray of each and from what I can tell each tray usually sells in less than an hour from when they put it out (post it online). I have to admit, I think part of what makes these donuts exceptional is the hype built up in order to get ahold of them. I believe they also do speciality cinnamon buns, on weekends. I look forward to trying more from here! It is a cute spot in a great location around other great businesses. read more

I like this coffee cafe, except for the loud music. The whole point of having coffee with a friend is to listen to what they want to say and to enjoy our time together. If I want to listen to loud music I'll go to a rock concert. I'll keep trying to get the volume adjusted downward. Coffee and bagels are excellent. read more

Went here twice - first time I had the sandwich with the pimento and jalapenos, second time I had the salmon bagel for breakfast. Both were incredible. Prayers answered! We'd been looking for a coffee shop ever since our beloved De La Coeur closed, and Sleeping Bird is an outstanding addition to the neighborhood. We've tried nearly all their pastries and quite a few other food items and haven't been disappointed. I'm a huge fan of their avocado toast and my son and husband love the array of cookie/brownie options. Its fun because the options change nearly every day, so you never know what you're going to get. It's a busy place but the service is great, and the staff seem to enjoy what they do. Highly recommend! read more

CHEFS KISS! I discovered their coffee truck last spring and I loved their fun coffees and desserts and was so excited to try their shop when they announced that it was opening. They have such fun sandwiches and treats and everything is just amazing. I got a bacon egg and cheese with the chipotle ketchup on a sundried tomato bagel (awesome) and a coffee cardamom snickerdoodle (baked to perfection) and an iced honey cinnamon latte, it did not disappoint!
