Tried Woods Deli and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Italian scallion sandwich and the egg salad--both were fresh, flavorful, and generously made. The Italian scallion had a great balance of savory meats with a nice kick from the scallion spread. The egg salad was creamy without being too heavy, and tasted homemade in the best way. Service was quick and friendly, and everything felt fresh. Definitely a solid spot when you want a satisfying, no-fuss sandwich. I'll be back to try more from their menu. read more

Located in a newer Food Court called Commerce Commons. I was at the Citadel Outlets and looking for food that wasn't the typical chain (Subway, Panda Express, etc.) that Citadel offers. I came across this Food Court a few miles away. Slicers offers deli sandwiches. I ordered the New Yorker Pastrami on Marble Rye. The pastrami is what I consider fast food few style, grilled, as you would get at The Hat vs deli style that you would get at Canters / Langers. The pastrami was lean and not greasy or grizzly. Nice layer of mustard and lots of deli pickles! Typical price for a sandwich $14 but the meat was a generous portion. Served with a side of coleslaw. For $1 more you can upgrade to a fruit cup, potato or macaroni salad. I recommend upgrading as I had the coleslaw, too much runny dressing. Was in the area for work and my colleagues and I were looking for a bite to eat nearby and chanced upon Slicers. Located in a "food-court" type setup, it's on the right side of the place, but parking can be a little busy during the lunch rush, so when you head in, go over to the right. Had the pastrami sandwich , which was very good. Took a minute to get my food, and there were only probably 2-3 people ahead of me....but I wasn't in too much or a hurry, so I didn't mind it. Service - Decent, no issues to report there Parking - Like I said, this place was pretty busy during the lunch rush, so it took a second to get a spot, and luckily when we were in there, most people were in line for the other spots, and the line just died down for Slicers. Here from out of town for work. Decided to check this place out due to the good reviews. Ordered a salad. Stood there for about 15 minutes as I watched a girl eating in the back, near food being prepared. Licking her fingers and picking up the food that was falling out of her mouth onto the table and putting back into her mouth. Disgusting. Then another lady walking around on her phone, texting, as she held a head of lettuce in her arms that I'm assuming she was about to cut for my salad. The perception of all of that was absolutely disgusting. I asked for my money back and went to one of the other food court options. Omg! I'm an addict for NY deli sandwiches. I've been living in Montebello forever and had no idea about this place until it popped up on my Yelp. I finally got a chance to give it a try. Since it's in a food court, it closes at 2:30pm everyevery day and not open on the weekends. I finally had a weekday off, so I drove over there and I ordered the Fatboy as my introduction. It was every bit of delicious as I had imagined. Two thumbs up, 5 stars LEGIT! Everything On the menu looked amazing, including the salads. I'll be going back again and again until I try everything. This is my first time at Silicers New York Deli at the Commerce Commons food court but my wife have eaten here before. The food court is open Monday to Friday close at 3PM or early. I step in the food courts they varieties of food stands then I went to the Slicers New York Deli then I was looking at the menu they have very choices of sandwiches choices. I decided to order the Suga Mama it have maple glazed honey turkey with provolone cheese with vegetables and with honey mustard on toasted sqaw bread also comes with coleslaw but they ran out but they give a option potato salad add $1. I decided to bring it home. When I got home I unwrapped the Boarhead wrap you know they use high quality meats and other ingredients in this sandwich. One bite of the Suga Mama sandwich wow what intense flavors in the sandwich and so much flavor in one bite. The maple glazed honey turkey was amazing good I really enjoy it including the toasted sqaw bread add it other level of flavor. I really the potato salad I notice this scratch made potato salad I couldn't tell how good is it. The portions here are huge. I got the pastrami sandwich and I was only able to eat half of it. Normally I can easily put down sandwiches from other places but they stuffed theirs with meat. I also got the onion rings which were crispy and fresh. The service was really quick and there wasn't much of a wait even during lunch rush. The sandwiches aren't bad but quantity vs quality had to be carefully balanced for this one! On to the food review! Got a to-go order and was able to try multiple sandwiches: The New York Rachel was a 3.5/5 because the cole slaw made the sandwich way too sweet for my palette. Not to mention as some other reviewer said, they really drench the sandwiches in sauces here. A lot of oozing slaw sauce all over and by the time the sandwich arrived, my bread was slight soggy around the edges! The Fatboy 4/5 but it should be named the slim boy or something. Probably cutting back on the meat because of inflation? Overall flavors were great but there wasn't a large amount of meat and my sandwich kept sliding back and forth because of the dripping mayonnaise turned my sandwich into a slip and slide boy by the end of it all. Overall it was okay, with too much sauce and soggy sandwiches. I do appreciate the places that serve up Boars Head bread. Been coming here a lot lately for lunch at work and I can say the food here is great! I had the pastrami sandwich, a fat boy sandwich and a smash burger all of them with fries and it is all delicious. My favorite is the pastrami sandwich. The meat is fresh and tasty and the bread is soft n fresh as well. The cashier, Jocelyn is amazing and has great customer service. I got the veg-e-tate sandwich and it was really good. Really fresh veggies and it went really well with the mayo and the mustard. It was supposed to come on the squaw bread, but I switched it out for the baguette. Can't go wrong with the baguette. $8.50 and it comes with a little tasty side of coleslaw. I'm sorry to write this, I really wanted to like it. This sandwich is totally underwhelming. The bread was just bland, the condiments were lacking, the cheese was hard and it just didn't flow well. There was no overall attention given to detail, the distribution of the ingredients were imbalanced, and it was just so weak. Really sorry to see this. It was extremely flavorful and had a nice little kick to it. I was able to eat the whole sandwich without having a heavy feeling in my stomach. The coleslaw was just okay.
