Slicers has become one of my go-to lunch spots when I'm working in the Commerce area. It's located inside a large food court with a mix of vendors and a ton of lunch options, but when I'm in the mood for pizza, a sandwich, burger, or even a breakfast burrito, this is where I end up. The menu is solid with a little bit of everything, and they often have a daily special posted on the whiteboard. Most meals can be made into a combo with either chips and a drink or mac salad and a drink. The food hits the spot, but I'll be real--I'd skip the mac salad. It doesn't really add much to the meal. You can pay with cash, card, or your phone, and the staff is friendly and quick. If you arrive before the lunch rush, you can get in and out fast. There's also the option to call ahead if you're really short on time. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a big food hall or mall-style food court, but instead of shoppers, it's packed with working adults on their lunch breaks. It's nothing fancy, but it's efficient and practical. And there's plenty of parking in the shared lot, which makes everything even easier. Highlights: - Wide-ranging menu with daily specials - Fast service, especially before peak hours - Easy payment options (cash, card, phone) - Large shared parking lot - Call-in orders available - Good value, satisfying food Things to note: - Mac salad is skippable - Ambiance is functional, not fancy--think "lunch hour hustle" If you're working nearby and need a quick, filling lunch with options, Slicers gets the job done. Just don't show up starving at noon unless you like lines.

Was in the area and picked up a sandwich, the triple threat, to go. I really wanted to give this higher but bread was hard- not toasted, just hard- and sandwich was overall very mid in terms of taste and ingredient quality and assembly. The ingredients all tasted kind of tasteless and not fresh... I think I had my expectations set a little higher bcos it has New York deli in the name. sorry

    Uber Eats order

POOR SERVICE, JUST A SO SO FOOD. Ordered is Uber Eats Pastrami on sourdough, I got a turkey sandwich on rye with avocado and onions. I almost puke on the thought that I have to endure eating that crap of a sandwich. What an S#$*@ and I@%*& store not paying attention to orders.

Omg! I'm an addict for NY deli sandwiches. I've been living in Montebello forever and had no idea about this place until it popped up on my Yelp. I finally got a chance to give it a try. Since it's in a food court, it closes at 2:30pm everyevery day and not open on the weekends. I finally had a weekday off, so I drove over there and I ordered the Fatboy as my introduction. It was every bit of delicious as I had imagined. Two thumbs up, 5 stars LEGIT! Everything On the menu looked amazing, including the salads. I'll be going back again and again until I try everything. Thank you, Yelp, for the suggestion.

This is my first time at Silicers New York Deli at the Commerce Commons food court but my wife have eaten here before. The food court is open Monday to Friday close at 3PM or early. I step in the food courts they varieties of food stands then I went to the Slicers New York Deli then I was looking at the menu they have very choices of sandwiches choices. I decided to order the Suga Mama it have maple glazed honey turkey with provolone cheese with vegetables and with honey mustard on toasted sqaw bread also comes with coleslaw but they ran out but they give a option potato salad add $1. I decided to bring it home. When I got home I unwrapped the Boarhead wrap you know they use high quality meats and other ingredients in this sandwich. One bite of the Suga Mama sandwich wow what intense flavors in the sandwich and so much flavor in one bite. The maple glazed honey turkey was amazing good I really enjoy it including the toasted sqaw bread add it other level of flavor. I really the potato salad I notice this scratch made potato salad I couldn't tell how good is it. Next time I need to a different sandwich also they use Boarhead products in their sandwiches.

This was a pretty tough review and I sometimes wish Yelp allowed for half stars to be added because it's more a solid 3.5 . The sandwiches aren't bad but quantity vs quality had to be carefully balanced for this one! On to the food review! Got a to-go order and was able to try multiple sandwiches: The New York Rachel was a 3.5/5 because the cole slaw made the sandwich way too sweet for my palette. Not to mention as some other reviewer said, they really drench the sandwiches in sauces here. A lot of oozing slaw sauce all over and by the time the sandwich arrived, my bread was slight soggy around the edges! The Fatboy 4/5 but it should be named the slim boy or something. Probably cutting back on the meat because of inflation? Overall flavors were great but there wasn't a large amount of meat and my sandwich kept sliding back and forth because of the dripping mayonnaise turned my sandwich into a slip and slide boy by the end of it all. Overall it was okay, with too much sauce and soggy sandwiches. I do appreciate the places that serve up Boars Head bread. I'd say it's a good 3.5 - maybe would've gotten a 4 star if there was more protein in the sandwiches.

I remember really liking it, but for some reason we hadn't been back in a while. This week my husband couldn't stop talking about wanting an Italian sub, and Frumento's immediately came to mind. We drove down and ordered the '58 Classic and another tuna sub, both as combos. The sides absolutely stole the show. The purple cabbage was so good, the coleslaw wasn't my personal favorite but my husband loved it, the four bean salad was absolutely mouthwatering, and the marinated mushrooms were also delicious. I work a couple minutes away so the drive there is quick which is perfect for my 30 minute lunch break. I tend to either order my food ahead of time so it can be ready and I just pick it up and go or I drive somewhere where I know it's quick and easy because they're not busy or because they have specials ready to pick up. Anyways, After we (the 4 people) walked in ....no one else came in, so it wasn't crazy with a line. I usually come in and get the 2 slice special. Wait is usually nonexistent since the slices are literally ready to put in a box. I was helped by another guy today (black beard, black shirt ) and felt there was no urgency from him during the " lunch hour". The pace was the same if there were 100 people or 1 of us. He took my order I sat down, he helped someone else then someone else then he shuffled some papers and got distracted by a little girl yelling across the street while waiting at the bus stop, then he headed to the back to do whatever and then came back out and answered the phone which is when I walked up and asked for a refund. I waited for a min and he noticed me then started getting the box ready for my slices and I told him to just give me a refund. He asked another guy to come over and he returned my funds back to my card and I kept the receipt and he apologized. I attached the receipt to show the time when I finally walked out 11:43 am 10 minutes after my order for two slices ready to go only a step away from the cashier. I never even got the soda cup to sip on while I waited. I may or may not return. If I do return and I see the gentleman in the black shirt that helped me today I'll just walk out. Most likely I won't be returning off this ONE experience. Do I recommend the food ? Yes Is the staff nice and attentive? Yes, Most of them Make what you want with this review but this was my experience today. I would've put this at a 4/5 review based of my past experiences but today made me drop it to 3/5. Hope this restaurant does well. I know it's hard for businesses to exist with the current economy which would make you think people should be thankful for their jobs and their income. Put a smile on, talk to the people coming in and put a little pep to your step when the lunch hour starts. Best of luck Tony's Italian delicatessen

Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.
