Green salad with cilantro lime dressing
    Teresa I.

I had been wanting to come in here for a while. I always see it when having Coffee Bean. Finally, had the opportunity to stop by. Their menu is pretty good with lots of variety and something for everyone. I went with the chicken barely soup with garlic bread and a simple green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions. You have to try the cilantro lime dressing. It's really good & a good kick to it. Overall, I was really impressed. They do have daily specials. They don't have a restroom or indoor seating. This isn't a good location for large groups. I loved the ambiance, they were playing good Holiday music & the service was good too. Plenty of parking in the street or in the back parking lot. They cater parties to if you're interested. I'll definitely be back to try some other items on their menu.

Service was great and our food came out rather quickly. Came here with a friend and she got the chicken caesar wrap and I got the avocado turkey wrap. Both of them were home runs. They come cut in half so we shared each other's sandwich. They have outside seating which is nice. They have plenty of drinks ranging from water to soda and coffee. I will definitely be back and try there other sandwiches.

Ambiance: This place is much smaller than I thought, no seating, and not many places to stand. Kinda gives small corner store deli vibes. Service: Very nice, patient, and helpful. I appreciated the suggestions and advice about my sandwich selection. Food: I went with the Chipotle chicken Philly combo, and I wasn't really impressed. When I heard chicken Philly, I didn't have this in mind, and the bread to filling ratio was off. It ended up just tasting like a regular chicken sandwich with peppers and onions. Overall, the sandwich was decent, just not what I expected.

I decided to try out Dave's Deli & Catering it's located a block away from the East L..A. courthouse and also the Metro Gold line in East L.A... I was very curious about Dave's Deli my wife and I went to have lunch at Juan's Rotisserie Pollo it's next door. They have the menu on the windows showing what of kind of hot and cold sandwich including salads and other items they make in the restaurant. They everything they made is fresh and made to order and also they high quality meats from Boar's Head one of my favorite Deli meats. I decided to order the turkey Sandwich with provolone cheese with everything including Persian cucumber. I got my sandwich then I took it home when I arrived I took a bite of my sandwich it took really good I really enjoy the turkey meat was really high quality turkey meat with good flavors and bread was soft and airy with other ingredients like the provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and Persian cucumber were very delicious by the way I order the large it's big. Next when go again to Dave's Deli I need to try a different sandwich.

I love this place! Enough that I have tried many different items at this location. Notable items Toasted turkey bacon avocado: delicious tasting. Just a simple and tasty sandwich Waldorf salad: honestly a jr. Size is good enough. Comes with fruit and makes it very refreshing Vanilla coffee: cheap and just sweet enough! Better price than coffee bean if you're into flavors like iced vanilla latte. Clam chowder: SO freaking AMAZING. The best I've had because they are NOT stingy with how much clams and items they put into the soup Tomato basil: also a very good choice! Sometimes comes with pita bread and sometimes comes with garlic bread. Just depends on their availability. Chicken avocado salad- good. Can't go wrong there. Turkey Jack panini- was told this was a favorite. I liked the chipotle mayo. Gives you a little spice. Not my faves: Chicken Cesar wrap: the wrap was a bit thick, I think maybe it was made if wheat or something? I don't like wheat so if you do, then maybe you'll like this one. But I prefer the one at coffee bean next door. Grilled cheese: this might just be my preference. I don't like whatever cheese they use. I think the flavor just doesn't go well as a grilled cheese type

    9.99 for a 4.5 inch breakfast burrito.

We had a nice server, Daniel, who was very attentive and helpful. My sister ordered cheese blintzes and they were served cold in the middle. Daniel took them back and when they reappeared at the table they were hot enough but not piping hot. Sister said they were very good. But two not very large blintzes for about $16, is kind of high. Friend had a Rueben which she said was delish. She also ordered a container of matzah ball soup and the matzoh ball was huge! I ordered a hot corned beef on rye and it was indeed very good. Large enough that half was enough for dinner and the other half was another meal on the next day. I also ordered onion rings. Very good! My dining companions enjoyed some of them too and there were still a few left to take home with my sandwich! I had a few of my friend's steak fries, they were good also. The prices are high here. Guess you have to go with the flow in a world-famous place! There is a small bakery counter near the front door. We bought two danishes to take home. OMG, the chocolate and almond danish was absolutely a 6 on a scale 0f 1-5! Also got a bear claw and it's terrific too. But the other was great. Notice I said was; my sister and I shared it. Didn't tale too long for us to decimate it! This was an experience for sure. If ever I get to LA again, I will be sure to get a chocolate and almond danish!

Order online and have some jump out of the car to pick up your order. There is no seating inside but maybe a chair or two outside. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges so you may want to get that food to go. We tried three sandwiches and they were all huge. The crispy chicken caesar wrap is phenomenal and I am not one who usually orders this particular sandwich anywhere. It comes with a creamy sauce that I might have drank directly from the little cup. The wrap is packed full of chicken and it is refreshing and excellent. It doesn't look huge but trust me, the wrap is packed full and you will be plenty satisfied. The Antonia sandwich comes with turkey, cheese, avocado, tomato, and garlic aioli. It isn't all that unique a creation but for what it is, it is very fresh and very good. It came loaded with delicious turkey. The Martha sandwich (chicken salad, apples, fennel, argula, herbs, etc.) is on special right now. Personally, I am not a big chicken salad guy but you get a lot of it and the person in our party who ordered it liked it a lot. We also tried the arancini and they were excellent. You get three arancini balls and fantastic vodka sauce on the side. This is a winner. To be honest, practically the entire menu sounds great to me. They have quite a few locations and I feel like I will be trying them again soon.

Luckily I had my fan to help cool off my soup. I did add a little salt and pepper. Other than that it was total comfort. $15 We shared a club sandwich and got French fries instead. All the condiments, Russian dressing, ranch come in prepackaged little containers. Ranch tasted fresh and homemade. I used a little of the Russian dressing. Is that a Brent's thing? $22 + $3 for French fries. I wanted a little sweet and got the blueberry cheesecake. That was the best cheesecake ever. Actual blueberries inside the cheesecake. So creamy and delicious. $11 Pickles are always my favorite. I got bagel chips with my matzo ball soup. I ordered corned beef and cabbage for my 99 year old mom. She said she didn't like the cabbage, no taste. She's 99 ‍ It's been a while since I was there. It feels the same. Booths and tables. Same decor. Our server Laura was super sweet and patient. Helpful in our decision making. Ricardo cracked me up because he brought a small soup container for my friend's cabbage soup. She was a little perturbed it was too small. If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend making a stop here. My biggest piece of advice is to go early because it gets incredibly busy by lunchtime--and for good reason! Keep in mind they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. While you can order online, I'll always choose to go inside so I can browse everything they have to offer. Their selection of fresh pasta salads is fantastic, and the desserts are always tempting. Whether you're craving lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, or one of their many other Italian specialties, you really can't go wrong. Be sure to check out the wine section in the back left of the market. It's extensive and absolutely incredible! This is the kind of place that keeps people coming back year after year, and it's easy to see why. Being Italian American and growing up with an Italian mother who loved feeding everyone, this was one of our favorite places to visit together. Those memories make every trip here even more special. My personal favorite is the Godmother sandwich--hands down one of the best you'll ever have. It's packed with flavor, made with quality ingredients, and it's the sandwich I find myself craving every time I come back. One of the things I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It has an energy that immediately makes you think of family. Everyone is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to help, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. It has that warm, old-school Italian family vibe that's becoming harder and harder to find, and it's a big part of what makes this place so special.
