People rave about the fruit pies here and maybe that's where I went wrong, because I didn't get a…read morefruit pie, but I am very sad that I had to give this place such a low rating. Walking into the bakery felt like stepping into a pastry lover's dream. The warm aroma of freshly baked bread and sweet confections filled the air, and the presentation was nothing short of picture-perfect. Every cake, pie, and cookie looked as though it belonged in a high-end magazine and I found myself salivating over every sweet concoction. But sadly, the taste didn't live up to the visual appeal. Despite the bakery's inviting atmosphere, the flavors fell flat, lacking the richness and depth I had hoped for. The confectionary sugars were tasteless and dry. It's frustrating when something looks and smells incredible but doesn't deliver where it truly counts--on the palate. We got the Cow Patty cake which is like a no bake cookie on top of a chocolate cake: the top was ok but crumbled when you tried to cut it, and the chocolate cake below was very dry from being overbaked. I was super excited to see she had Hot Cross Buns which I had always wanted to try but never found a bakery that sold them. Once again I was left very disappointed. The bun itself was very dry and the cross on top was so hard you could not eat it. I was literally able to peel the cross off the bun and it did not break. The last thing we got was what I think was a Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie ??? It was like a chocolate chess pie with pecans and chunks of chocolate baked into it. Once again very disappointed. The pie should have been sweet but was very lack luster and flavorless. One bright spot, however, was the owner who was pleasant despite the culinary shortcomings. I appreciate her kindness and the effort she put into creating such a beautiful space, but when it comes to flavor, there's room for improvement. Here's hoping future visits bring a better balance between the bakery's stunning presentation and the taste of its creations.

The peach pie was good. My son loved his brownie and the whoopie pie was good as well. With so many choices it can be overwhelming so I would suggest batting a few mini pies.

I typically get a burger, breakfast, or this most recent visit I tried the pot roast special and it was great! You really can't get anything bad at Copper Pot. I also love that they carry Diet Mtn. Not many dining choices in this area. Ample parking and a large dining area with tables efficiently serviced so that they turn over quickly. Our wait for a table was only 10-minutes, following a group of 18! The service was the star of the experience. Very efficient, helpful, attentive servers. Shout out to Suzanna. The large staff worked well together and seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. The ambience is southern, hometown casual. You feel like you are visiting your large family from start to finish. Nothing pretentious. Clean enough. Comfortable. Pricing....in this time of food inflation, this restaurant still offers amazing prices. My husband and I had two large dinner entrees with water and our bill came to just under $24.00. Our portions were generous as evidence in the photo. Our waitress recommended the grilled pork chops which were hot, juicy and seasoned just right. They came with two veggie sides from a long list of choices. I chose collard greens and Mac and cheese. These items were just average and only luke warm as was the biscuit (from a choice of about 5 bread options). Had the sides been hot and a little more flavorful, I would have given 5 stars. For vegetarians and all-day breakfast eaters, Cooper Pot is your place; so much to choose from on their menu. Vegans might struggle as most southern cooking includes dairy and it looks as if they cook their sides in large quantities and keep them in a warmer to serve. The ability to respond quickly to large numbers of travelers and locals, with solid, well-priced, filling meals is the gift of the Copper Pot. We will return when traveling their way.
