I was really excited to try Slim Chickens out, but was really disappointed. Today I ordered the chicken sandwich and the fried mushrooms. The chicken sandwich felt slathered in sauce, and the chicken itself was good until I got to the center and the texture was like biting into a raw piece of chicken. Let me clarify that it appeared cooked all the way through with no pink. It just had the rubbery texture that's associated with raw chicken, which turned me off so much I couldn't finish it. I don't know if it's due to the quality of the chicken or the way it was cooked, but it was definitely inedible. The fried mushrooms were okay. The batter kept sliding off on half of the ones I picked up. I plan to give it another attempt and try something else to see if it was a fluke before write it off completely. Highly recommend for catering/large group orders! Our office has ordered lunch from Slim Chickens a few times now, and it is always a hit. The variety of wings and sauces is means everyone gets something they like. The tenders, both fried and grilled, are always on point. And don't forget the brownies--soft and chewy amazingness! Everything is always fresh, and it's packaged carefully for takeout. No worry about hot and cold food in the same bag here. Plus, the customer service here is OUTSTANDING! They are always going above and beyond to be helpful, whether it's offering suggestions on the best menu items or helping carry food to the car. Plus, on a recent order an item was left out; the restaurant delivered it to us right away (and even threw in a couple freebies!). It's that kind of service that will keep us coming back again and again. For a (very) reasonably priced lunch for a crowd, it's hard to do better than Slim Chickens! read more

Slim Chickens was a great experience. Staff was very friendly, food was fresh and delicious, and dining in felt comfortable and fun. We tried the buffalo mac and cheese bowl, which was 1000/10 and unique with the crispy onions! We also tried the 5 piece tender meal with their honey mustard, buffalo, and slims sauce. My wife and I stopped in and were promptly welcomed by a nice young lady. She offered suggestions on her favorite items and we ordered. Chicken tenders are my wife's favorite and she rated these well above Chik fil A, her former fave, and Raising Cane's and she was impressed with the mac and cheese. My chicken club was lightly breaded, bacon crispy with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Excellent choice. Fries were hot, hot and quickly brought out by a second nice young lady. The 'manager' came over to check on us and we had a great conversation with him. We were checked on to make sure all was well and to make sure we were not in need of anything else. I think the prices are fair unlike what some of the other reviews are saying. Yeah, Canes is good but they don't have all the sauce options this place does. This was just an ok experience. I ordered a ranch chicken combo. Ordered with no pickles & o ion rings & of course they put it on. I wouldn't mind so much as I mostly ask to save the buisness stock, however they barely put on any ranch and what little was there got rubbed off on those things I picked off. The lettuce was yellow instead of green. The chicken was very mid. There was no one else in the location and I see why. I would not recommend this spot and will not be coming back. read more

Went here for the first time tonight and idk if the cook was in a salty mood or new but we ordered the chicken sandwich meal and Buffalo Mac and cheese fried pickles and a kids Mac and cheese and EVERYTHING but the Mac and cheese was super salty... the chicken sandwich had like a special ranch sauce or something but I had to remove it with my napkin because it was super salty once I took it off the sandwich was good. The fried pickles super salty thought dipping them in ranch would help but nope. Even the fries were a little bit salty but it was bearable enough to eat a few. Was so excited to see a new chicken place open up. Approaching the drive thru, the gal taking our order was very nice, and didn't rush us as this was our first time. The menu is very extensive, and everything looks tempting. We ordered the crispy chicken combo and the chicken mac and cheese. Both looked really good. The fries tasted funny, and after sampling the chicken sandwich realized the chicken and fries are/were cooked in the same oil. Not good at all. The chicken was no where near crispy, actually was a little soggy although I know freshly made. The chicken mac and cheese, again had that same oil taste and was not impressed. Just stopped here for the first time today. I went through the drive-thru and the customer service experience was great! It was a very nice girl named Kianna D, and she did well with answering my questions. I ordered the 3 and 3 meal with a peach tea because I wanted to try both the wings and the tenders and I asked for the wings to be cooked well done. The wait wasn't long, and after I received my food I pulled into the parking lot nearby. (I didn't want to get out of the car to eat inside) After trying everything, the tenders were about 4/10. They were rubbery and the flavor, to me, without any sauce just wasn't great. The fries were 5/10 - I feel that they have potential, but they were lukewarm and seemed old or that they had been sitting for awhile (I'm a fry connoisseur) and the wings were all purple from the bones being broken and weren't very flavorful. read more

We have been going to Slim chickens here on Saint Rose Parkway since it open day one. Without ever knowing what kind of food they sold because it's a southern chain we were pleasantly surprised. Larry, the manager and Candy are very good people very sweet always saying hi Karina, who also works the register. Very sweet always friendly. The food is relatively hot every time. My only concern is they're never usually too busy and they just need to help themselves advertise a lot better than what they're doing. Not a lot of people know about them.
