Very disappointed with the food. I usually go to the location on 135th but was in Lenexa today so I thought I would do the drive thru then take it home. 10 to 15 minutes later I open the box to grab a wing and it's not even warm, as if the chicken was just sitting around. I thought it was very odd that I got my food so quickly. Owner/Manager/Employee please see this review and figure out what is going on. I'd driven by Slim Chickens plenty of times and always wanted to stop by. I'd never heard anything about it by word of mouth or never looked up the Yelp page. The menu looked real appetizing when I first saw it on my first visit and the team was super friendly. I ordered the tenders and wings with a variety of the sauces they have. I was hoping for some good good fast food fried chicken similar to other fast food fried chicken like Canes. I was disappointed with the quality of chicken, but a fan of the sauces. The chicken reminds me of the Dominos, Pizza Hut, or Papa Johns chicken sides available, not that the highest quality or item they specialize in. I just figure a place that specializes in chicken would have a little better quality tasting chicken. However, the sauces on the menu are awesome and the fries are really good. I would even go to order sauces to add to any chicken dishes that I would cook at home. read more

Not sure what all the hype was about, putting it simply the chicken is small nothing special in taste made my stomach hurt 1st time i visited slim chickens. Decided to try again and same thing. I wont go back! Food is not that great and they filled my cup so full of ice i had less than a can of soda in my cup. Ok I just wanted to update that we've been back twice since my initial review and love this place! The salad is great and the husband and kids still love the chicken fingers - and now the mac and cheese. We'll be visiting often. I've only done the drive-thru so I can't comment on the inside/dinning area but it look nice from the outside. PS - the ranch is amazing. I wish I could buy a bottle of it. read more

Not impressed. I stopped by tonight and picked up a three piece strip meal. The chicken strips were tasteless and cold. The gravy dipping sauce was horrid! It was basically water with grey food coloring. Texas Toast was soggy bread and the fries were halfway edible. The bright spot of the meal was the Slim Chicken sauce. The sauce gave my flavorless food some spice. I will not be back. read more

I have an unhealthy love of wings... If I'm going to eat something that's unhealthy it better be good. Color me unimpressed with Slim Chickens wings. I got the "Hot" wings and they were bland, fries were greasy and tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while. Food was definitely not worthy of the price. Really wanted to like this place, as it's close and I like chicken fingers. Unfortunately... Dined in twice. Both times, there was an odd, slightly bitter taste to the fingers, although they were hot and fresh. Might just be the breading recipe they use, but given the below... More concerning were the fries, which seemed stale - lukewarm at best, tasted like they'd been sitting a while, several were broken. (To note: sauces aren't a draw for me, apart from a little bit of ketchup. I'd rather just taste good chicken with good breading. :) read more

With high hopes of good old southern fried chicken, Slim doesn't quite hit the mark. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. However, the food is bland. When it's all about the sauce, mayo as a base should never be the main feature. The breading on the chicken fingers needs flavor. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Chicken was very bland and expensive for what your get. Ordered a sandwich for carry out. What they gave me was three little chicken strips, fries and two pieces of toast. For my money Hen House and Chick fi la beat this place hands down. Just went to Slim Chickens for lunch and I have to say, I didn't enjoy it too much. My chicken was cold and dry and just didn't have much flavor in general. Same with my fries. Overall just a bland experience, but love their sauce. read more

Close to work so I go here somewhat frequently. Love the grilled wrap and potato salad. Wings with the honey bbq sauce are delicious and if you are look for desserts their desserts in a jar are fun and hit the spot. read more

It is inexplicable that this location does NOT have fried okra, while the Overland Park store does. I was told they might not ever serve fried okra at this location. Really?! I like the fried chicken and fries, but I can get that anywhere. What I can't get is good southern fried okra. I won't return to this location. read more

We were looking for a family friendly place to grab a meal with friends after an event. Not a ton of options after 7:30 pm on a Sunday. The food was a decent deal, since kid meals are free Sundays in fall with purchase of an adult meal, but... The restaurant was unkempt, the service was slow, and the tv's were rolling a very not family friendly crime drama with subtitles! Not sure they'll get a second chance. read more

For as New as this place is, I was astonished at how unkept it is and even more disappointed in the freshness of the food. I would question whether or not management is doing their job. Does the Franchisee care about daily operations? I came at 5:45 on a Tuesday night, August 1st. I was one of only five families eating here at the time. It wasn't busy. Trash all over the parking lot. Beverage counters and tables that were completely messy/sticky, windows and doors with amazing amounts of hand prints all over them. Three tea flavors and the lemonade were empty. The fries were not fresh and my wings were absolutely COLD. I tend to always write positive reviews, but there's nothing positive about this Slim Chickens location to write. I've been to several other locations and was happy. I hope management turns this place around, otherwise it won't be open for long. I will not return and that's a shame because it's less than a mile from where I live. read more

Slim Chickens is always great! I'm really surprised by some of the negative reviews. I have been to several locations and have never had any of those experiences. They are one of the only fast food restaurants that will INCLUDE a drink with your salad! The salads are stuffed to the lid and they do not leave you hungry. Their tenders are excellent too and I love their large portions! Our favorite time to eat there is Sunday-kids eat free day! Their rewards club is easy to join too and well worth it. read more

Great service, great desserts ( I accidentally started a collection of Slim Chickens mason jar collection). If there was a Zaxbys closer to where I work near 87th and Pflumm I'd be going there (better chicken strips and the Zax sauce can't be beat) but this is still a fantastic choice. read more

Terrible food. The fries were cold and soggy. The chicken wings were cold, to the point I was worried about food poisoning, so I didn't eat them. The chicken fingers were warm, but soggy, filled with grease and lacking flavor. Service was also pretty bad, which made initially ordering any food somewhat of a challenge as I had to repeat myself over and over. The staffing clearly don't give a crap, which is why this place is crap. I will never go back and I will tell other people the same. read more
