Always good soul food always consistent. No complaints when in Kansas City this is a must!

A staple in the community for a very long time! The cafeteria style service-ordering still allows that glimpse of down home granny cooking smells and views! Mrs Frances meal please and thank you! Fried chicken nice and crispy and seasoned just right not too much salt and definitely not bland! Got those mashed potatoes which tasted kinda instant like but I rolled with it... and that mix greens/cabbage hit my southern craving! And you can't forget their peachy, cinnamon, nutmeg perfectly golden crusted cobbler!!! Yummmy!

I came here because I love the macaroni so much at the Eastwood location. They didn't have any macaroni at this location today so I tried new items. WOW!! I was blown away by how delicious the neck bones, corn, and cabbage were. They were all so well seasoned and the corn is probably the butteriest most savory corn I've had in years, seriously. The neck bones had a lot of good fatty meat and not too many small bony pieces. The cabbage was delicious. The meatloaf was also super juicy. I am really pleased with every item I've ever had both times I've been to these places now.

This is really a 4.5 star. Fried chicken was top 5 all-time for me. Mac and cheese also on point. Salisbury steak was just ok and yams were not it. So one of those places where you need to know what to order but I would definitely go back for chicken alone.

This is the nastiest attempt at soul food in kc. I don't know what in the microwave tv dinner pile of shhh it I just got served but this is Nasssty. You have fallen out over the years and there's no coming back. This is like if the slow family member takes over the business and uses the name but doesn't follow the recopies. Like the aunt who brings food to the family functions that no one eats. I just can't express how disgusted you are for calling yourself a black owned business selling the most Caucasian stereotype of a bad attempt at soul food. I'm just really pi ss ed I wasted money on this garbage.

Great vegetarian find in Kansas City, Missouri!!! Sweet potato bread is so fire, and i love the crust on the outside. My friends said that the breading of their fish and fried chicken was seasoned really well too. I got the veggie plate and everything was pretty good at a great price too (got everything for $10). I also liked the cafeteria style so rlly great when you just cant wait for food haha.

It seems that Peachtree Buffet has become Peachtree Cafeteria. It is probably a better fit as it keeps the food fresher but I do miss the buffet. I love Peachtree. They are one of the few places in town to get a solid meal of Southern comfort food. The fried chicken is so perfectly made. A little greasy but the flavor is just so perfect. The fried catfish always has exceptional flavor and is nicely dusted with cornmeal that has a fantastic crunch. And I love the sides. The green beans have a unique spice to them and lovely chunks of red potato. The Mac 'n cheese tastes like something k would expect my grandma to make but she could never do this so well. Such a nice blanket of real melted cheddar cheese and you can taste the oven-baked goodness of a quality cheese blend. The mashed potatoes and gravy are flawless. And I'm obsessed with Peachtree's corn muffins. Overall, if you want comfort food, this is a great option for it.

fried chicken, pork chop, cabbage, dressing, mac & cheese & roll

This is usually my 'go-to' spot if I didn't cook Sunday dinner. It's been a staple in the area for years as 'the- place-to-go' for great down-home cooking. It still has my heart, but a recent visit left me & my husband lacking. We ordered a few meals consisting of turkey/dressing, fried chicken, smothered pork chops, cabbage, macaroni & cheese, sweet potatoes & rolls (no cornbread muffins). This time around was disappointing. The meat was flavorless (pork chops tough), cabbage was overseasoned (hot) & the macaroni & cheese bland (really? how do you mess up m&c?). The dressing was the best, but the server forgot to put the gravy on it. Geeez Louise! Perhaps a change in cooks??? Idk, but I don't have to rush back by any means. Everything looked delicious, but the proof is in the pudding, ie: palate. I'm not saying not to try this establishment as everyone can have an off day (or 2, 3?), however my past few visits have left me asking myself if this is the 'new norm'??? I certainly hope not. Come on y'all, get it together, pleeeeaaassssseee!

The place was pretty empty which was unusual; the last time we came in I think was in December and it was slammed! It turns out they aren't serving alcohol right now (apparently an ownership change? I didn't get the full scoop) so that was the first let-down. So fine - I'll just have a bowl of the gumbo. For $29?! And some biscuits. The gumbo comes out in a cracked bowl with a cracked plate underneath and the 3 little crawfish on top are refrigerator cold. Granted, the actual gumbo was pretty solid with the right amount of heft and spice and depth, but even then the rice had some hard pieces in it like it was old. The biscuits aren't anything to write home about and the butter is just meh. I wouldn't spend my carbs there. On top of all that, the waitress literally couldn't be bothered that I existed. I had to pry to get a drink menu (which is when I found out they weren't serving any), I couldn't get any eye contact from her or any kind of friendliness, she asked me if I wanted them to "heat it up" when I told her about the crawfish, and then brought my bill when I hadn't even finished dinner without bothering to ask if I wanted any dessert. And on top of that, there was no mention at all about the dinner issues or any apology whatsoever. I don't need or want a meal comped but for over $40 for a bowl of gumbo and some biscuits (+ tax, tip, etc) I at least expect some acknowledgement or "hey, here's something nice we can do for you". We really enjoyed the last time we were here and this was a genuinely jarring experience compared to that. The place looks pretty rough right now - maybe this is one of those places that has the right vibe in the dark, but nothing felt right about it today, and I'm afraid I can't (won't) recommend it again.
