Slim Chickens is a hit or miss spot. Sometimes when you go it's really good, sometimes it's meh. I prefer to dine in because the drive thru line usually takes forever whenever I visit. When you walk in, you order at the front counter and they will give you a table number if you are dining in. I've had their chicken wrap and wings. The wrap was missing something, maybe I just chose the wrong flavor so it didn't do it for me. The wings were pretty decent. I like their fries when they are freshly made. They have good tea for making an Arnold palmer. Depending on the staff you can have a clean space but if they are really busy they don't get to the clean up fast enough.

Hair that was on my food

To begin with I asked for sweat tea mix with lemonade and a sweet tea. And they gave me a coke and a sweet tea with breading crumbs in it. Then I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and they gave me fried. And to top it off I got a long probably females hair in my salad. Horrible experience don't recommend

Food: overall, it presents as if it will be enjoyable but their chicken sandwich was okay. The fries were awful (dry and taste of old oil/grease) Their hot wings were over cooked, just too hard to enjoy. Service: was okay, nothing to brag about but it was not terrible! Ambiance: is causal, clean and convenient.

Looks good but it was not. I even added an egg once I got home. But, still, no good once I started eating.

I have given them a fair chance. I tried different meals and all have let me down recently. I ordered a slim salad 2 days ago, got home and it was slimy. I called the store, spoke with the manager and was told they would replace it anytime during the week because they were now closed. Went back today to get the replacement and IT'S STILL ALL BAD. Today's salad was WARM, yes the lettuce was warm, the cucumbers looked translucent, the cheese was melted, croutons were soft. It was awful and to the trash it was fed. I do not even want to try again. Garbaged and will not be returning. If you enjoy warm salad, go for it.

Went here today to try this place out. First the good -- - wings not bad even after a 40 min wait in the drive thru - tenders are decent - sauce (hot/buffalo) decent The bad - 1. 40 min wait in the drive thru 2. Ordered the 5 tenders/5wings combo - got 4 tenders instead of 5 3. Fries cold 4. Diet Coke so flat not drinkable -- really?! This place needs a lot of work to succeed. There are WAY too many other chicken places around not to have to wait 40 mins for a less than mediocre $18+ meal. Unless they drastically improve, I don't think I will be be back.

Waited an hour in the drive-through to get the most saltiest undercooked chicken ever salty. Definitely not coming back

Very small tenders and the french fries tasted old. The line was quick and workers made sure the order was correct.

What we ordered: Sweet tea: Being in the South, I always judge a place by its sweet tea. This is the molasses-style sweet tea--very sweet--so I'd recommend cutting it with unsweetened tea. Breakfast egg rolls: Delicious overall. The filling could've used a little more salt or seasoning, but the gravy was absolute perfection. Chicken & waffles: Fluffy waffles that leaned slightly sweet, but paired really well with the flavorful, well-fried chicken and maple syrup. I recommend asking for the syrup on the side. The portion is large enough to share. Buffalo chicken sliders: The clear winner of the day! The buffalo sauce was perfect, the buns were soft and fluffy, the chicken was crispy, and the shoestring fries were cooked just right. Caesar salad: Decent, but the real star was the blackened shrimp. The seasoning was excellent, and I'd definitely try something blackened again! Overall: Very good food, friendly and fast service, and a cute environment. I'd absolutely come back for dinner and would recommend it to anyone.

This time, I tried a new menu item--they add and take away items fairly often so you can try new things. The turkey melt had smoked turkey and came on Texas toast. The sandwich was really good, as one would expect with thick cut bacon and smoked turkey. I was very pleased with this new item and will certainly get it again, unless they add something else new that catches my eye.

I definitely enjoyed the convenience of it being in the Cordova area as well as the ambiance. The art and music were definitely a plus. I had the pasta, which was fine. It was nothing to write home about; however, it seemed that the night I went, they were understaffed. The bar area was particularly quite slow. However, the servers and the bartenders were all nice and doing the best that they could. I will be back to try it again. It is a great stop for a no-frills, relaxing time near the house if you life in the suburbs of Memphis and don't want to make a drive to have a good time.

The waiter we had was being trained and that made the experience better. We got the attention of two waiters. This place was not busy at all. I think there were only 4 parties there. This place deserves a lot more business. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Martini and Long Island. The Peach Martini was a little too sweet for my taste and I couldn't taste the alcohol. The long island was good. I ordered the Creamy Cajun Pasta. It is not as big as it looks in the pictures but it packs a ton of flavor. They seared the sausage on both sides and thinly sliced it. Everything about the dish was perfection. The apple cobbler was also very good. Be patient with this place because they will be out of certain menu items but the food you get will be wonderful.

The hostess seated my wife & I and our server Carter did N excellent job for us. The restaurant is large and well spaced out. It is also clean and the ambiance is a home type feel. We started with the Fried pickles cooked in fresh oil and came out hot. The country dip is good. Basically roast beef cut up and provolone melted cheese on top within a roll plus an au jou dipping sauce. It's chunkier than a normal French dip but it is good. Flavor wise, it was average and could have been seasoned a bit more. The beef is barely above the bland side as far as pot roast beef is concerned. However, combined together the components elevate the sandwich. It's worth the try to see if one would like it. French fries were good and freshly lightly salted. Cole slaw was basic. Not too creamy but also not sweet. My wife got the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. It was good and you will notice the grilled flavoring on the chicken. For me, the food could have benefited from a bit more seasoning but that is subjective. The meals were well worth the cost and Pop's deserves to be on anyone's go to eateries if you want good comfort dining.

This was my first time to Tennessee, and my first time trying southern food there. I'll try and break this down quickly. The restaurant was cool and super clean. The cornbread and okra were probably the worst I ever had. The cornbread had no sweetness or flavor at all, and the okra was just hard, cold and rubbery. The sautéed squash was ok, with no flavor or seasoning really. I really enjoyed the green beans though. The macaroni and cheese wasn't that great at all, and the grilled catfish was decent. Now for the star of the show, the fried chicken. It was absolutely terrific! The thin and crispy batter and the juiciest meat! Yummy! We took home three desserts. Cobbler a la mode, banana pudding and bread pudding. The cobbler was great, the banana pudding was awesome, but the bread pudding wasn't that good. It was very dense, and the vanilla sauce was missing. That might have helped it a bit. Overall, we had a great visit and the service was completely top notch! Thanks again Grace!
