I stopped here in March driving from the Carolinas back to Oklahoma. I wanted a Memphis Bbq Experience that was close to the highway and had good reviews. At the time I didn't know it was a chain , but I found out later. Sometimes that's not a bad thing though. I found the restaurant was decorated nicely and clean. My waitress was very nice and informative since I told her it was my first time here. I got a Half Rack of Ribs with Wet Sauce on one side and Dry Rub on the other side. Bbq Baked Beans , Cheese Grits , Rolls , and Sweet Tea. The Ribs were tender and good. They have 2 Bbq Sauces on the table and I asked the waitress if they have any others and she said yes , a Honey and a Smoky Spicy one. I asked for the Smoky Spicy to try. I liked the Dry Rub side better and with the Smoky Spicy Bbq Sauce on the Dry Rub was the Winner. The Wet Side was Original Bbq Sauce and it was kind of plain to me. They also had this on the table with a Hot Bbq Sauce that was more or less like Texas Pete / Louisiana Hot Sauce. The Bbq Baked Beans were really good. The waitress said they are the best in town and I would probably agree even though I haven't been to any other bbq place in the Memphis area. The Cheese Grits were okay. They used like a White Cheese I think. I love Grits , but they could've did a little better on these. The Rolls were like yeast rolls like Texas Roadhouse , but better , melt in your mouth and you don't even need to put any butter on them. Sweet Tea was just right , not too sweet or not enough sugar. They had a display of their desserts , which looked good , but I was too full to have any. There is also a Bar if you want to have a drink and some appetizers. A wall with lots of pictures of Celebrities who have dined at Corky's is on display. Elvis and Little Richard are sitting at a table above the dining area watching to see how you like the Bbq. They sell shirts and sauces if you want to take some home. The menu is pretty large , so lots of choices for you to try. There is also an upstairs area for dining. If I lived here or was visiting for a while I would come back and try more. I usually prefer a more Mom and Pop place , but this was very good , much better than the Bbq I've had in Oklahoma. read more

We ordered a pulled pork hamburger and chicken baked potato. The burger, if you c an call it pulled, lacked taste and the only thing pulled was my wallet. The chicken potato, wow. My wife couldn't eat it. Pieces of black potato in it, the waiter said it was skin, tell that to a person who has cooked all her life, and knows a bad potato when she sees it. My date and I received exceptional service on a Thursday evening. We shared a Captain Don's Dinner. The brisket was ok, I liked the ribs, the pulled chicken and pork were good. Memorial Day, arrived 7:45pm A man already there was waiting and had seen no one that worked there. After ten minutes a lady showed up with to go for a patron at the bar. Seated us after chitchat. Then on 1-1/2 glasses of unsweetened tea and we're told no more would be made. Then no silverware or napkins. We're out of bbq ribs. Given plastic ware and a paper napkin from to go. Place deserted and by 8:10 someone was vacuuming. Wife did not get a refill on water. Or asked. We will not be back. It was clear everyone though very nice just wanted to go home. read more

This was my favorite dining experience during my trip! This is a two story location with seating on the second floor. We were seated promptly on a Saturday evening around 6:15. Our waiter was incredible. I wish I knew his name but if you know who was working the main area on Saturday evening, give this man a raise. He is HUSTLING, attentive and truly cares about your dining experience. He went out of his way to service every table in our area. The food was incredible. I got ribs half and half with grits and potato salad. My only regret is not getting more of each. I love the option to do half and half on the ribs! The seasoning is jaw dropping and I love the sauce. The grits had the perfect flavor and the potato salad was amazing. They have a bar on the main floor if you want. This almost was going to be a 2 star review based on service alone. We arrived at Corkys and theres a line at the front with no hostess, no servers, no anybody letting you know anything. Looked around tables were dirty seemed they were understaffed on July 4th and that's okay but communicate that to people waiting. Servers kept walking by trying to avoid customers gaze. I eventually went over to the bar and asked if they provided full menu service at the bar and they did. My friend and I ended up eating at the bar and glad we did. A girl working there said the bartender would be right with us and brought us rolls and sweet tea. I wish I had gotten her name she was kind helping out at bar as she could. Our bartender Jayln was amazing. He was kind even though there was a lot happening at the bar with irritated customers and pick up orders and bar service. He handled it well and still took care of us. We ordered the brisket queso and omg I was in heaven, it was tender cuts of brisket in a white queso sauce and you dipped tortilla chips in. My friend got the chicken BBQ quesadilla and it was delicious. I ended up ordering the short rib combo with coleslaw and Mac. I will say I wasn't a fan of their Mac you can skip it but the ribs? Fall of the bone melt in your mouth type. I got mine half wet and half dry rub. The dry side was actually tastier in my opinion. I would love to return to Corkys for some dessert. Worst experience at Corkys in 20 years. Extremely over staffed and business was extremely slow. Yet customer service was insanely terrible as well as the food. Cheese Fires were cold to the touch. The catfish ordered crispy was extremely cold and shriveled. Had to wait forever for the food. Forever to pay and leave. And every table with different servers experienced the same thing. Dropped by for a bite between lunch and dinner....linnar. We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar with the barmaid Staci and Michaela (who just finished her shift and waiting for a ride). They recommended Captain Dons dinner for 2 with 'muddy' ribs and the burnt ends with grits . There were 3 of us and we ate until we were full and still had lots to take back to our hotel for a late night snack. The ribs were fall of the bone delicious, pulled pork and chicken extremely tasty and the burnt ends simple 'stunning' as we say in Wales. We enjoyed Corkys own beer which the ladies recommended. Call in order for over $50. Ordered a whole slab that was the size of a roll of Ritz crackers. Then it was not good at all.

There is never anyone at the front or bar to seat you or grab your to go order. Really poor service operation they're running here. Staff must just be hanging out in the kitchen all day cause I never see them unless I call. read more

First time here and we enjoyed the meal! My wife does not like ribs, but really enjoyed these!! That is amazing in itself. We had the captain Don's with ribs, brisket, pulled chicken and pork. All were very well seasons and the brisket was very tender and not very fatty. Of the sauces I loved the smokin hot, but that is me! The apple bbq sauce is really sweet and you can taste the apple clearly. Very clean and easy place to talk and catch up. Don't be in too much of a hurry as it takes time to get your yummy food. My wife and I are not BBQ fans, but when out-of-state friends/relatives visit and ask about Memphis' FAMOUS BBQ, our go-to is Corky's. So, in August 2024, when our cousin from Nassau County, NY visited and wanted to sample Memphis-Style BBQ, we placed a To-Go Order at the Corky's in Cordova, TN (less than a mile from our home). FOOD: We ordered a Corky's Captain Don Dinner because it had a sample of four meats and sides for only $35 and we added a couple of additional sides. Our To-Go Order came to $40. EXPERIEANCE: To-Go Orders are picked up at the bar. On this Friday evening, picking-up our To-Go Order was a DELIGHTFUL Experience because Ms Stacy Justice was working the bar. There were three gentlemen at the bar (one eating, one drinking/while his wife was at a local beauty pallor, and me waiting for a To-Go Order). The brisket was dry and tough, the pulled chicken and pork were average but the ribs with a dry rub were excellent. Service was so so, bartender came to the hostess station to seat us and it was not busy. Waitress was good and fast. Food was terrible. Got the 4 meat combo to try everything and the brisket was dry, the chicken tasted like it had been boiled in broth before adding smoke flavor. We ordered Corky's burnt end dinner with two sides...I usually like Corky's food...but this meal was slightly disappointing. The barbecue meat was too sweet and greasy...and the juice and grease soaked on the French fries and through the bag..the container was positioned sideways so all the food was in the corner of the container. The baked beans was sweet. The peach cobbler taste of crisco.,it was greasy tasting and not too good. They sent condiments and napkins .,. My son had the chicken nuggets and seasoned fries. Corky's has a pretty high place in the list of excellent BBQ joints, deservedly so. It's where we go when we have the whole family in town; everyone can find something on the menu that pleases their palate and wallet. (Don't pass on the catfish bites!) The wait is never long, and the staff is always pleasant (unlike that very famous top-rated-tourist-trap downtown). But it's the drive thru for lunch that has my heart today. The food quality does not suffer in comparison to the indoor offerings, and the service is as quick as it can be- but worth the couple of extra minutes. The window staff is great! They could act as busy as they are, and display harried faces, but every time I've been, they are cheerful, helpful, and treat you like a real customer, not an inconvenience. My husband and I were in Memphis and stumbled across Corky's Bar B Q. I'm vegetarian, and there's not many options, but that's fine. I explained that. My 3 star's is because I asked our server if there was meat in the potato salad. I mentioned I read online that there was bacon, but she said NO, it's just plain potato salad. So I went ahead and ordered it... And of course, there's bacon. I let her know, and she apologized. When we got the bill, she still charged it and had to go back to ask the manager to take it off. In my opinion she should of done that before bringing the bill. Othere then that my husband enjoyed his food and no complaints from him. read more
