I had never heard of Slim Chickens until recently. I kept seeing it on Yelp so I finally decided to try it. One thing that caught my eye when I was browsing the menu was that they have fried okra. Okra is one of my favorites and I love a chicken place that has it as an option. I ordered the Chick's Meal (3 tenders) with fried okra and gravy. They have a lot of dipping sauces, but when it comes to tenders and Texas toast, I have to have the cream gravy! I went through the drive thru and there were a few cars in line. It took about 10 minutes to get through which wasn't too bad. Apparently they don't make the food until you order it so that's nice. The portion of this meal was perfect. The tenders are really good. Some bites had more flavor than others. The okra and toast were yummy too. The tenders are almost as good as Golden Chick, but Golden Chick is still my favorite. My iced tea (unsweet) was bitter and tasted like it had been sitting awhile (which seems to be the case at a lot of fast food joints). My meal though was really good and I want to try some of the other menu items. Thanks Yelp for helping me discover a new place!

This place is still new so I'm sure they're still working out some kinks... My sister and her family were in town so I decided to bring them here since I read decent reviews and have been wanting to try it. Ordering seemed a bit hectic... like, the girl working the register didn't seem to know how to do it very well. Anyways, we ordered 3 kids meals ($4.99 each), a medium Buffalo chicken sandwich meal ($7.99) an order of fries ($2.69) and I had a FREE cayenne ranch chicken sandwich (from downloading the app). The bill came to $33.49 and we didn't really think about it... until we got home and I was like- that seems high for getting a free sandwich. So I plugged our order into the app: with the chicken sandwich =$33.49 and without it =$27.77. So the lady redeemed my sandwich from my phone/app but never took it off the bill. I don't even think my sister got a receipt so I couldn't even bring it in to get it fixed. Boo. The food itself was REALLY good. My sandwich was excellent (the chicken itself was only about 1/2 the size of the bun- see photo), the fries were hot and seasoned perfectly, the kid's tenders were delicious and my sister said the Buffalo chicken sandwich she had was quite possibly the BEST chicken sandwich she's ever had. The only sauce we tried was the bbq- which was good but a little too sweet for my liking. Next time I'll try a more savory one. The decor was cool and modern. I loved the wood-look tile and the white subway tile... BUT the floor was slippery AF. It was literally like an ice rink. Not sure if they mopped the dining room floor after mopping up grease in the back but it felt hazardous. I definitely want to come back with my husband.

Our first time in very impressed with the service, the attitude of all the staff that we saw was good very attentive to the customers. The chicken was hot cooked well the buffalo sauce was perfect. We put that ____on everything. The okra could've been cooked a little bit longer I like my crunchy, but still good next time I'm gonna try the wrap. We ordered the three wing three strip basket and then After we sat down I noticed that we could've got a five wing five strip basket for just a dollar more note to self read the menu before you order.

We should all be sick and tired of chicken places, but we are not and the concepts keep rolling in. This time it's Slim Chickens. You would think by the way the concept on the outside looks that it's a bar and grille. Alas, they only serve chicken with sauce in a combo on a platter, in a wrap or on a bun. Quick tip: stop saying food is high! Everything (As of the date of this posted review) is high at this point. The dollar store stoped selling everything for a dollar a while ago! Back to it. Ordered a 5 Wing 5 Tender combo with fries and medium drink. According to my childhood buddy, the staff was in a mood that was not pleasing. The cashier was not happy about life or at least about being at work. Please help some of the staff! They looked a bit frazzled! The team member that brought us our food...he was nice. Oh! The dining area was cleaner than expected. Good presentation! The platter looked like there were more fries in the order than anything unfortunately that was an illusion. On the wing: BBQ. On the tenders: Garlic Parmesan. Both were consistently wet like a steady drizzle on concrete a rainy day. Liked the added touch of the parmesan grated on top of the tenders. Both flavors were good, though the GP Tenders were a bit vinegary. Fries were good not great. They lost their strength after the after fryer cool down. The four star is for the manager getting into a tiff with a customer who had to wait for almost an hour for an order! (That really happened) Besides that, this place is well worth a try.

Vibe- There's a nice ambiance and a good amount of seating. I really like the long table in the middle with the red bar stools! Customer service- Great! The young lady at the register was very patient while I tried to piece my mushroom wrap together Food/drinks- They have fried mushrooms on the menu and wraps with meat as well so I asked if I could get the fried mushrooms on a wrap without the meat and ranch. They made it happen and the mushroom wrap was delish! Parking- Good amount, there's also a drive thru and curb side pick up too.

Let me start off by saying: I don't usually eat fried chicken anymore. Last time I did, it was Raising Cane's down the street to this place, and it was tasteless to the point of needing its sauce for any flavor. As every review says: The employees were very nice. They welcome you in, take your order, and don't bother you. Not bad at all! I got my order, took it with me back to work for lunch, and sat it down, looking forward to my rare fried chicken treat. I opened it up and was actually pretty surprised. The presentation of the food in the box was rather swell! It was also filled with more food than you'd expect, as a chicken place should! I ate some fries first-- pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but still pretty good. Needed salt, though. They should come up with their own unique salt blend, because THAT would drum up sales and fry hype. I tasted the toast-- good. As expected. Not impressive considering it's fast food, but still good! Not burned, tasty, good stuff. It was also cut in half into triangles which is pretty unique! Then the chicken... the reason you're reading this. I bit into the chicken... and there was a satisfying, almost perfect crunch while also still being soft and ever so tender. But what of the flavor? It was really good. Really dang good! It was way better than Cane's chicken which relies way too heavily on its sauce. The chicken was pretty well seasoned and I was overall really impressed! The beading had a nice crunch and crisp to it without feeling like a rock or tasting raw(Chili's)! They also have a lot of sauces to choose from. I chose Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan. The Buffalo was great on the tenders, but the GP just didn't work well with the tenders. It is definitely meant for wings, though! I should have gotten that Chipotle ranch, though. Spice is life! With all the negative reviews I expected it to taste like crap and to be the equivalent of Nazi Germany returning to stomp on my tastebuds, but because people don't know what a fair review is, along with tanking the value of reviews with their spam of 1 star reviews. Seriously, be reasonable. 1 star = You basically want the place closed down immediately. 2 stars is more reasonable if you had a really bad experience but can see improvement. On top of that, the clientele in this area of Pearland is awful. Seriously, a bunch of arrogant, petty people who think that an exception is the usual. They were not spanked enough as children. Back to the point: Good stuff! I haven't tried the rest of the menu; don't know if I will, but this was quite tasty! They have my endorsement if you like Cane's and other chicken places! Good out and give them your support! They'll need it in this already saturated market!

To be fair, I waited until after my second visit to the restaurant and after a week of being open to work out the kinks that new restaurants deal with. To be forewarned, this review is based on curbside, not dine in or drive thru. The first thing I would suggest for customers to do is to get an app for your favorite restaurant-especially if you utilize curbside. Curbside from Slim Chickens contains not only the menu but the ability to check in and let the kitchen know you've arrived. You can also redeem rewards from within the app. Most importantly, avoiding the long lines! Both times at different times of the day, I have seen a long line of cars at Slims, but because I ordered through the app, my wait time is like two minutes tops getting my order. Secondly, if you want to compare chicken restaurants (say for instance Chick-Fil-A and Slims Chicken), there are some pluses and minuses. I'll start with price. Slims is a little more costly, but I believe their app rewards pay back way more quickly than CFA. CFA may have some impromptu rewards pop up on their app, but as far as earning points, you'd have to spend way more to get anything worthwhile-especially since there are different earning levels in the CFA app. How that goes who knows... Plus, Slims offers a birthday treat, which CFA got rid of a few years back. Customization of the Chicken and the various sauces available at Slims is probably the attraction to the place. On my first visit, I got a chicken sandwich with Chipotle Mayo. I didn't sauce the chicken patty (which is not an extra charge BTW) to really get a taste for the chicken quality, which was okay--a little dry if you ask me, but on my 2nd visit, I decided to get the chicken tenders sauced with garlic parm. OMMMMMMMMGooooooodness! Best decision ever. If you've had WingStop's garlic parm anything, Slims has them beat. Juicy all white meat chicken tenders with plenty of the garlic parm seasoning! I bought a kids meal just to taste, but darn--if I had known the chicken would be that kickin' I would have bought an adult meal! Still, even with the kids meal, I got a splendid array of items to taste. First off, the Kids meal is huge! It would take a kid all day to eat it. The chicken tender meal comes with 2 nice size chicken tenders that you can have sauced, 2 pieces of TX Toast (which was so yummy by the way), a dipping sauce of choice, and a side of choice. I did notice that some of the sides like fried okra and pickles were not available for the kids meal, but you still get a great selection of sides! Surprisingly, the mac n cheese has the lowest calorie count than the fries, so I went with that on the 2nd visit. Absolute comfort food paradise with white instead of cheddar cheese. I've had the fries before and they were just okay...I've tasted better but you do get quite a big portion of them for the regular size order. I would however skip the gravy. It was white and had the thickness of gravy, but the seasoning of it was way off. It was more like thick water for a lack of a better description. Stick to a sauce instead. Plus the kids meal came with a drink all for $5. I'd definitely suggest if you try this place out to order the kids meal just for kicks just to get a feeling for the concept of the place on the cheap. Overall, Slims fits the bill for a legitimate chicken place, but be ready to pay and have your app not too far away for the quickest service.

This is like a drive thru Buffalo Wild Wings! How does it only have three stars!! Staff were nice: Food was really good! The sauces tasted homemade The breading on the fried mushroom tasted homemade I enjoyed our meal and we will be back ... a lot! And I like how the dessert is in a glass mason jar! Very good quality especially for fast food

Want to start by saying I loved the atmosphere. Loved being able to sit at a bar, loved the music, and service was superb. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Catfish was pretty good. It had the perfect crunch and a plentiful portion so no complaints. Sides were good but not something I'd rave about. The étouffée was pretty solid but the Brussels could've been better. Maybe seasoning them a little more, cutting them in halves, and charring them would've done the job. Peach cobbler was so yummy. I loveeeee how they have offer for preferences with the peach cobbler (more crust, more filling, or neutral) because I personally love more crust. Kool aid was good but could stand to be just a tad bit less sweet with more flavor. All in all if you have a catfish craving and want good vibes and service I'd 1000% endorse this spot.

The red beans were ok, nothing special, but not bad either - 6/10. The GREEENS tho.... 1/10. NOPE - never again. Glory canned greens with a whisper of a thought of seasoning and half a gallon of pepper sauce. While waiting for my food, a lady already seated and eating starting having an episode from being overheated. It just wasn't a great experience and the food wasn't worth another try for me.

The owner was right there on the line working hard with his employees and the ingredients were real and fresh. It took me such a long time to visit this restaurant because the concepts are not something you see often, after the eating the food it's like a spin on cajun, american comfort soul food with a modern day finish. I don't even speak like this, but after this fantastic meal I couldn't help but to let yall know it's worth a try. The first item I tried was the blackened fish jambalaya & it was really good & looked like it came straight out the pan! however i'm used to bland food so the kick from the seasoning took me back some. I then tried their punch and it was so good words can't even explain. Again packed with flavor , sweet and has a tang from what seems to be lemon. Fresh pineapples and strawberries were in the drink as well, I can honestly say it's one of the best 3 drinks i've ever had. If they sold them by the gallon i'd purchase it just to keep in the house. I even added some water to it when it was almost gone and it still tasted good! It mellowed out some of the sweetness, but not the flavor. I also got the Da Justo Sampler and at first it seemed like a lot and kind of overwhelming, but let me tell you it was so amazing. First of all the grilled cheese was exceptional, the best grilled cheese i've ever had. The wings were sweet and spicy and I didn't even need ranch for them, I thought it would ruin the flavor! & I'm a person who eats ranch with everythingg. The mac & cheese is the perfect example of what mac and cheese should be, the fries were okay though, I wish they were crispier but even with that it didn't stop nothing! Everything is still a 10/10. I went back and tried the Jambalaya a little later & again another 10/10, i've never had Jambalaya before so the flavors were so crazy , but I still found myself not able to put the fork down! The portions are very big from those two meals I got i was able to share with 3 other people and we all had nice portions ( i was not sharing that punch tho!). if your sick of your typical generic food options and want something out the box and worth the price or just want a cheat meal that's worth it, Krack Kitchen is your spot!

It's inside a gas station which wasn't too busy for a Friday night. You order at grill, but when they give you the receipt you have to pay the gas station attendant. Make sure you go back to the grill to show you paid for your meal. Now I will say it took 25 minutes to get our food but it was HOT and FRESH. We got the jambalaya and 10 chicken wings. The wings were crispy and juicy with a lot of seasoning. Everything inside the Jambayla was delicious from the shrimp, to the fish, to the sausages, etc etc. just all super flavorful in general. There are 4 small tables each with 2 seats which I appreciated cause I usually prefer to eat the food fresh rather than eating it in the car/bringing it home. Would definitely come back to try other dishes; but keep in mind that the location of the gas station is kinda not ideal. You'll know what I mean when you drive there. It's hard getting there/getting out. And again food takes a long time, so if you're looking for quick fast food this place is not it, but it is delicious

Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. So glad to dish all this goodness to Yelpers and remind them of another gem in West U that will not only give you a great place to get a bite but satisfy that sweet tooth.

She called me "sweetheart," a little Southern hospitality goes a long way. Ambiance (4/5): Modern, clean, and comfortable. In line with other Dish Society locations I've been to. We sat at a booth/table combo. Drinks (4.5/5): I love when a restaurant has more than your standard selection of soft drinks. You'll find that at Dish Society. They have "craft" sodas and a nice selection of juice blends. Plus sweet and unsweet tea. Food (4/5): I went with a cup of the tomato bisque soup and the Nutella French toast. The soup tasted as good as it looked. Some croutons or a piece of garlic bread would have been nice, but outside of that, this starter couldn't have been better. The Nutella French Toast was similarly well done. I love French Toast and I love Nutella. So this was a match made in heaven. Along with some sliced strawberries and some blackberries, I was happy I went with a breakfast dish for dinner (they serve brunch all day). The prices are affordable for the quality of the food. My only complaint? The portion sizes are pretty small. Case in point: two slices of French toast when most places will give you four. Pro tip: Join their club for discounts.
