This is a straight up Trump bar and I really can't explain it until you step into the place. It feels like a klan meeting is about to take place. They even have a Proud Boy flag hanging in there. It's cringy and gross. Im actually embarrassed for the owner bc her interior decorating skills are absolutely awful. It just screams fragile toxic masculinity and so do its regulars. They are very on brand with the decor and so is their dental hygene. The crowd in here is ultra right/conservative/red. It is plastered all over their bar and their apparel. This is not a safe space for the LGBQT community at all and if you aren't white and go here you run the risk of being eyeballed and racially profiled. It is not a fun, friendly atmosphere at all whatsoever. Literally if you are liberal, democratic, left leaning or moderate and you voice your opinions, you will be belittled and your personal safety may be at risk. It's one of those places. The owner is absolutely horrific. She is very rude and has no problem yelling at her employees in front of customers. She is aggressive and scary, monstrous even. Any employee who has an ounce of respect for themselves leaves...they have a high turnover. I always see new faces coming and going. She is very unprofessional. Again, very on brand with being a Trump worshipper. Her loyal employees stick with her because they either absolutely need the job or won't get hired elsewhere. If you are in the area and want to be around a friendly non judgmental crowd and shoot some pool, go to Airport Saloon instead. Their staff is friendly and not running around like complete rage monsters yelling at each other. You won't feel outcasted because of your political views. It is a much better, friendlier and warmer atmosphere void of a rightist owner cramming her political beliefs down your throat. Shame on this establishment for not getting with the times. We used to LOVE this place. But the last couple times I've been there it's gone down hill MAJORLY. Number one there's a group of 40 plus year old women trying to be the gothic Pink Ladies of Cameron Park?! Calm down dude you have a leather jacket you're not a badass. Tonight we were inside playing ping pong, ordering drinks and having a good time for about 30 mins. My dog was waiting in the car until it was time for the patio. We asked both bartenders "is it ok to bring our dog outside on the patio?" And their response was "yes, totally! As long as he has a leash." I walked to my car and I wasn't even half a step to the patio when some random lady with a displaced attitude said "um you can't have your dog here" in an exceptionally rude tone. I informed her that I got the ok from multiple employees. She said "Ok you can go to the last table in the corner." I'm sorry, am I Rosa Parks? We go sit down at a table in the back but apparently it wasn't far back enough. Next, wannabe Betty Rizzo asks us to move further back. At this point my boyfriend and I discuss moving back, finishing our drink, and then closing out. This took a whole 20 seconds but it was not quite quick enough for the nazi without a hobby and she told us to leave and my dog was bothering people. What?! The bartender seemed nice and relaxed however, and I did really like the "hot seat"for half off a drink if you sit in the chair the wheel lands on. Credit where it is due. It's a nice spot to play pool for cheap and get an okay mixed drink or a beer. This bar is a joke. After the way the owner acted last night, I will never spend another cent in this shithole. It was absolutely disgusting how she handled an already bad situation. While a friend was highly intoxicated and acting out of character, we were finding them a ride home. In the mean time the owner sees his behavior, not to mention he was already in parking lot ready to go. She storms out telling him she's going to beat his ass, while shoving him in the chest (so lady like right?) of course this sets fuel to the fire and is making the situation a 100 times worse. So as my friend starts to walk away she continues to follow him and 3 of her employees are with her all acting as if they are going to jump him. I worked there for a few month, and ill tell EVERYONE the truth.. The whole building including the bar is discustingly dirty. The bartenders have no customer service skills. i had to litteraly yell at them to get them to make a drink for me. even when they were slow. The owner of the bar is what really makes it horrible. She lies to people, tells them what they want to hear and then completley fucks them over. Ive heard from multiple people (including my own experience) that she hires people telling them she will train them and get their life started, and instead just leads them on giving them 1 to 2 , four hour shifts per week... I've been coming to "Slingshots" for over ten years now and have seen the growth and development of this bar. The staff has always been friendly and the owner is very easy to talk to. I've not had one problem at this bar. They also have expanded their food menu and I have to say the wings, jalapeno poppers, basically, anything on the menu is going to be at a fair price and good quality here. I also frequent the karaoke scene which "SlingShots" has on Wednesday and Sunday. I have to say, I've been to other karaoke bars before, and Sling Shots really knows how to entertain their audience. I would highly recommend this bar to anyone who wants a guaranteed good time. read more
