We had a good experience. Our bartender was new and very personable. She worked hard to get answers to all of my questions on their extensive selection. I had hand breaded calamari. It was fantastic. Slip 56 maybe the only place to hand bread calamari in Kenosha so I really appreciated that. My husbands steak sandwich was ok too. read more

I went to Slip 56 for the first time 6/3/20. The food was good and the service was pleasant. The one problem had was that most of the staff was not wearing masks. That shows me that they really do not care about protecting their customers. read more

Came for dinner with wife. Got fried cod. The cod was good quality and cooked correctly, but tasteless. Told sever and she said add salt. Told her that I have ordered fried cod hundreds of times and never needed to add salt. Ordered bourbon and coke and requested how to make it. Mostly tasted coke. Slip 56 has a lot going for it; good food and drinks. But they have some kinks to work out in regards to service. My boyfriend and I sat at a table outside for two hours, and no one came to check on us until my boyfriend spoke to someone inside. We watched one table after another sit, get service, and leave before anyone spoke to us. We'll be back, but I hope they've improved their attentiveness by then. read more

Went inside, spoke to bartender about sitting outside, was told to go take a seat and he'd send someone out. Sat for 14 minutes as the server checked on the two other two-tops that were wrapping up their dinners. Decided to go inside to order directly from the bar. Got two drinks from the bar and informed the bartender that we'd be interested in food if a server was available and was told he would let her know. Three other tables arrived, sat down, and were immediately waited on as we finished our drinks. There a total of 50 minutes without service or even eye contact. Drinks were fine. read more

Great little spot in downtown Kenosha. Visiting from Milwaukee with my wife and had a great time. Staff was amazing, we were greeted immediately and offered a place to sit. Asked if we wanted to watch the game and made sure we had a spot to view the game. Reality...not a bad spot in the place. Giant TVs everywhere. Food was very good. Recommend the herb infused butter burger and fish tacos. Good selection of beers on tap as well. Very cool patio for outside dining and drinking. read more

meh. we've tried this place twice, and I think we'll just stop there. this place is trying to be "chicago prices/menu/crafted cocktails" level, but failing miserably. it's silly expensive, poorly executed, and the staff is quite frankly, a mess. Kenosha has tons of well priced, excellent service and *awesome menu* places, go there instead! trying to be "fancy" and failing is so lame...we can go to chicago for expensive bad food and service. ;) read more

Both food and cocktail menus look great but execution is just ok. Both drinks we had were less than average. We ordered an appetizer and main dishes. Waited a long time and then the appetizer finally came and less than a minute later the main dishes came. SO annoying and just bad service. Main dishes were cold and soggy. Server seemed to want to be anywhere but there and was not very engaged or attentive. The appetizer was delish but sadly we didn't even get to enjoy it as an appetizer. Might go back to sit outside for a glass of wine but not for food or cocktails. read more

I wanted Slip 56 to be my new go-to spot. I wanted to love the drinks and food. After probably 10 visits ranging from Good to awful - I decided to leave a review. When Slip 56 first opened the service was good - not great- but I figured it was new. We normally always sit at the bar and service was okay. Food is inconsistent. Some items are delicious ( steak sandwich)others like the flatbreads leave a little to be desired. Service seems like it is going downhill. Last two times the service was awful. First time they were very busy and I will give them some slack. What irritated me was that the owners/managers just stood back and watched it fall apart. The last time we were outside. Servers walked by us 9 times before taking our order. When Michael got to us - our service improved greatly. I will have to think long and hard about going back there. read more

My mom and I decided to head into downtown Kenosha to spend a day and we ended up getting lunch. The service was really good, people were kind and overall nice atmosphere. When I ordered, I asked for a few items off of my burger and when it arrived, they were still on the burger. Not too much of an issue, I just picked it off. If you have a sensitive stomach like me, beware that the food here is quite greasy. The fries are soggy, still tasty just very soggy in grease and the buns of the burgers are pretty soggy as well. Overall good place, good service, kind people, just for people with sensitive stomachs like me, watch out! read more

Poor service. Crappy management. Inconsistent food. Don't waste your time. I mean let's be real. For a newer establishment you would think the team would care. There was a party of 6 of us and it was not busy. Server was too carefree, bartender was slow on any drinks that weren't at the bar, had to ask for silverware after our food, and the menu did not match what we ordered. We relayed our concerns to the manager on duty and even that didn't make me feel like he cared... I hope this best for a newer establishment but I don't think much will change. My husband and I have been here several times now. Everything we both have had, has been delicious. Service is great and the atmosphere is quite nice. We expected this to be just another bar with food, but it's so much more. The first time I was there, I had cheese ravioli. It rivaled any Italian restaurant! My husband had shrimp tacos and was blown away. The menu is much more diverse than most restaurants in this area. The beer and menu is also excellent. We will continue to go here! read more

This was my second time there. The first time I went for drinks. The waitress was very prompt, and my glass was never empty. Tonight I tried the food and it was delicious! I had the brisket nachos, which were on special, and I would definitely go there again. The waitress was also very nice and attentive. The outdoor seating is also great. First time I went there, they messed up our drinks twice. The last "dirty martini" came as a cosmopolitan with olives in it. The food is somewhat pricey for nothing special, vegetables are frozen from a bag. Prices are high. I usually meet people next door coming in for a FEW drinks after having one here expressway the same. Place is really nice looking, lots of tv's. Music is really loud, if you want to go for conversation, you will be screaming at each other. I went on a Saturday afternoon however and the Bloody Mary mix they use is good! read more

I've been there a few times over the past few months, food has always been good no complaints. But after the most recent visit (I haven't been there the past two months) the service has changed. Our server Lauren barely came to our table she ignored our table and sat for 14 minutes (my girl timed it) talking and flirting with the manager, Mario (we met him three months ago on a Friday night) after we asked for the bill. It was odd watching "a manager and sever" touching and flirting in the workplace. My girlfriend finally went up and asked for the THIRD time for the bill. I understand working in a bar/restaurant that you have relationships with coworkers (I worked in multiple bars/restaurants), after this time, we will not be going back. I can remember multiple awesome servers there Kelly, Rob, Dave, and Ashleigh but one bad server will change the experience. Maybe we'll get the to go option because the Italian beef is awesome. A manager should be telling servers bartenders to tend to the customers first, and this wasn't the situation. I wonder if the owners know what's going on. Props to the cooks though! read more
