We've purchased carpet from Sloane's twice before so they were our go to when it was time to recarpet 3 more rooms. They have three racks of carpet samples: plush, textured and a flat pile. They also have other types of flooring. We chose a plush carpet and some really good pad and Brett wrote up our order. He sent our phone number to an installer named Chris who was supposed to call us in a day or two to schedule coming out to measure. When I didn't hear from him for 4 days I called him. He said he couldn't get into his email and didn't know that he was supposed to call. But he did come out a few days later to measure and again a week later to measure the third room that was missed on his first visit (hubby's fault). Being that it was only 3 days before our scheduled install I was definitely nervous. Brett called us two days before install to say they didn't have enough of our chosen carpet and offered the options of choosing a different carpet, doing less area, or getting our full deposit back and not getting carpet. We opted for getting a different carpet so we made that drive up north once again. The morning of our install Chris called to say he couldn't make it but would send his brothers. We had spent days getting the rooms ready - taking out all the stuff in the closets (up to 3 feet off the floor), emptying shelves, and basically removing everything but the heavy furniture. So of course I said ok to having substitute installers. They turned out to be very good and got the job done in one day. So far everything looks great And they only missed one night stand when putting the furniture back. So Sloane's will continue to be our go to for new carpet. read more

I went to Sloane's to replace my living room carpet. My sales experience with Adam was really good, he guided me immediately to a carpet that works wonderful and helped me pick out a pad which makes it feel luxurious. I got a large sample to take back to my house and make sure the color was right, which was really nice. They give out much bigger pieces than the standard carpet samples you see from Costco or other carpet sellers, which are impossible to visualize on a large scale. Installation with Gabe's crew was quick and easy - they had it installed within a few days of my order. Unfortunately the carpet had an imperfection in it that was near the center of the room. I wasn't aware the piece I was buying had this imperfection. No problem for Sloane's. I spoke to Adam the manager and he told me they'd take care of it. A week later, the same crew reappeared and installed a brand new piece of carpet in our room with no imperfections at all. It was free of charge. I really appreciate Sloane's dedication to customer service even though they sell carpet with imperfections and this should be something any customer is aware of at the time of purchase. I will use Sloane's again for my upstairs carpet and this time will be sure to inspect the piece of carpet in the warehouse before purchase so there are no surprises. I'd highly recommend this spot. I'm probably going to be repeating what all the other reviewers have already said but man, no one should be buying a carpet in Denver without paying a visit to this spot first. Sure they don't have hundreds of options and they are limited to what's available in terms of style, design and color but they still have a decent size selection where you will surely find something that fits your needs and wants. We needed the entire basement to be redone for carpet and padding and went to the big box stores like everyone does when they know nothing about carpet. Neither husband nor I ever had to shop for carpets before so had no clue what to expect. The stores have a ton of variety, of course, but anything half decent quality and above is going to be expensive and we had a relatively limited budget that we didn't want to exceed. So we got our carpet PhD via Google and decided on what exactly we wanted in a carpet - pile height, material, pile density... And realized that we simply couldn't afford what we wanted in any store. Then our realtor recommended Sloane's and I had found it over yelp, too, by then. We made an appt, arrived, the employee who helped us was great to work with, didn't rush us at all granted we also knew exactly what we wanted and didn't take much time. He was also very helpful though and brought out carpet samples that he thought we might like based on our descriptions. Once we picked a carpet he helped us with picking a padding. We ended up with an absolutely top notch carpet for, in essence, a third of the price! And a memory foam padding that I couldn't have been able to afford had I spent more on the carpet. The whole thing was an insane deal! Once we finalized our decision they rolled out the carpet for us and showed the "defect", which in our opinion was barely noticeable. I had been waiting until we got our basement done to leave this review. Seems certain carpet installers work exclusively with Sloane's so you know who is coming to work on your carpet. The installers we got very nice people, they got the job done and while there are certain areas where the installation could've been slightly better and cuts could've been made slightly more straight, I still can't really complain. They overall did a very fine job and I don't think anyone would notice any of the issues I've just mentioned. The carpet looks absolutely gorgeous, the pattern matching was done brilliantly and the carpet was stretched perfectly - no issues on those whatsoever. I hope we never have to get carpets changed in our house... But it we ever had to I wouldn't go anywhere but here. I'd also recommend this place to anyone. read more

Fantastic experience, start to finish. You have to pick from what they have in stock, but they have a wide selection of types and colors. Our sales rep, Brodie, explained the differences in carpet, and made suggestions. Once we chose the carpet, they showed us the specific carpet that would be installed, and the minor imperfections (which were nothing you'd notice unless pointed out). Here's the deal-- you're getting a slightly 2nd grade carpet that the factories can't sell as 1st quality. And unless they show you the variance, you can't tell there's any issue. You'll pick out the carpet and choose any 1st quality pad you want and then it's installed by a super professional installer who provides a full warranty on workmanship. The prices are literally half of the big box stores and installation is for sure better! While the selections are more limited on carpets, they do have many to choose from and have a new selection always coming in. Pro decorating tip: Rather than spend $$$ on area rugs from a catalog or store, you can purchase high quality carpet remnants from a flooring provider like Sloane's. Then have it cut into a size that you desire, then bound for safety/comfort (usually it's an extra charge by the inch). Such is the case for my new house. Hardwood floors are great, but I like a little texture and warmth in the bedrooms and living areas. Visited Sloane's on two different occasions to pick from what they had available and now we have three very nice, 12 x 12 rugs for different rooms. You can go with the sale pieces, which range from about $.98 to $1.25 per square foot or go with the fancier stuff at $2+ per. Both visits I've worked with Ralph to pick out just the right carpet to turn into an area rug. He's personable and knows a lot about carpet. Aurora Rug Binding is Sloane's preferred sister vendor. Once you've paid for your remnant, ARB will pick it up and cut it down from the original size. They will also bind the piece, around $1 per inch. Be VERY specific when coordinating that part of the process. Otherwise you'll end up with a big ass piece of bound carpeting that may/may not fit in your desired room! The price for two large remnants (which ended up as 12 x 12 and 12 x 13 rugs respectively) was $470 plus tax. Try getting a better deal from Wayfair, Overstock or another retailer. The carpet has a stain guarantee and is a nice thick fiber. Hopefully it lasts at least five years. Note that Sloane's is in an industrial park in Aurora. Not the fanciest 'hood, but that's why you're getting such a deal. Call ahead before coming to get an appointment and they'll show you where to park and what door to enter from. Highly recommend getting carpet at Sloans. We replaced 800 sq ft of builder grade carpet and carpet padding for a very reasonable price. We ended up picking out carpet that was on sale too; orig. manufacturer price was $7.99/sq ft, Sloans price was $3.99/sq ft but on sale for $2.99/sq ft. They have a wide selection of carpet available and several different options of carpet padding. We choose the "savoy" pad and it feels so nice. Carlos M. did our install and he did a great job. It was such a good deal, I decide to upgrade my brother's house carpet as I was moving there. Very happy with both products. Do know that there are limited amounts, and ever changing carpet, so what you may like may not be there the next week, which is what we ran into. They were professional, knowledgeable, hard working, and fast. After buying our house, we didn't want to break the bank any further just on carpet. But after I saw Sloanes reviews on both the prices and the professionalism of the crews, I had to stop by. I was immediately greeted by Brett who was fantastic to ensure we were working in our price range and explaining all the nitty gritty details on carpet. I love this place. I've never purchased carpet before, and I find carpet stores to be incredibly creepy places. I get the heeby jeebies, break into a cold sweat, and feel like I'm being sucked into a black hole from which there is no escape. But enough about me. Sloane's Carpet Secret is awesome. You go into their warehouse, which is infinitely less creepy than a carpet store. It's just a warehouse. Like, normal people moving stuff around with forklifts. And they show you a bunch of different carpets and you choose one and they're SO AFFORDABLE compared to other places. The carpet is all slightly imperfect, which means absolutely nothing to 99.9% of us other than the fact that it's cheaper. We chose a super high quality carpet for our basement that apparently has a slight dye abnormality that I couldn't see even when they pointed it out to me. They set us up with an installer and were patient when we needed to keep the carpet at their warehouse for three weeks more than we thought we'd have to. I would highly recommend them, obviously. read more

It's no secret, this place is a rip off. We ended up finding the same shaw carpet at carpet exchange on sale. The owner tries to tell you how their prices are "exclusive" and it is BS. He also said that they get new carpet all the time and never have the same stuff which is also not true, we went in last summer in June and back again recently and they still had all the same carpet. Not really impressed with this company after calling them to do an installation because their category on Yelp clearly states that they do carpet installation. I called them with a decent sized installation on carpet already purchased and they said "not interested if you didn't buy from us". Frustrating, but fine, I can deal with that but the next statement was unprofessional. When I asked if they had any recommendations, this member of the industry says "man, I don't know, maybe Craigslist". Seriously? And he said it in the snottiest way possible, it was obvious that when he couldn't make a big sale with his carpet that I might as well have been an annoying fly buzzing around, can't want to get me off the phone and back to his game of solitaire. That plus the fact that in all of your experience in this industry you don't know an installer and can't be bothered to install yourself unless you also got the carpet markup? He had so much information for me, it was like I turned on a faucet at full blast! I was both impressed and set at ease by what he recommended. Now the installers on the other hand took their sweet time and weren't too professional but that is in no reflection of Slaone's Carpet Secret. I just wouldn't recommend these installers.
