If you're in the area, definitely stop by SloDoCo! Best donuts I've ever had. This location had no line, which was a plus - the original SLO shop gets very busy. I highly recommend trying the Lavender with Oreos and Crumb Cake donuts - both my favorite. Cinnamon Sugar is yummy too. The price range is in between Dunkin' and a high-end donut shop - 4 donuts cost around $12. The shop and was decorated so nicely for Easter, and there's a cute outdoor seating area too. While heading to Southern California, stayed the night in Atascadero and wanted some donuts and coffee in the morning! Many donut places may have good donuts but bad coffee! Or I may go to a coffee shop and the donuts are not as fresh? SloDoCo has awesome donuts and coffee. For about 3 dollars or less, you can get a "specialty" donut. Since a kid, I've always had a taste for the less traditional old fashioned donuts! With a good cup of coffee, my morning is off to a great start! I loved this place. The doughnuts are great. Unfortunately, the last 3 times my doughnuts have been raw (uncooked) in the middle. The first one was a Crumb covered cinnamon roll. The second one was a regular Cinnamon roll. The last one was this Cinnamon puff type glaze doughnut with cinnamon inside. Each time we called to let the shop workers know that my doughnut was raw, I received an apology, but no offer to have an exchange or a refund. The doughnuts are kind of expensive to have to be cooked in a microwave at home to be edible. I'll definitely be going back to the local shops that have been around longer, specifically if I want a cinnamon roll. I haven't wanted a doughnut since the last one though, so who knows when that will be. I definitely lost my appetite for their cinnamon rolls. ( I edited to give more stars because,for the most part, the associates have been very nice and it's nice to have variety. This is a must-do for any family with sugar-crazed kids or perhaps the adult donut connoisseur. My husband falls into the latter of those two categories. SloDoCo had every unique concoction you could possibly imagine, and they are wonderfully detailed in the decor and names of their sugared gems. The animal-cookie donut is delicious and comes with a Do Not Pass Go pass to a sugar-induced crazed kid or sugar-crash coma. Seriously, one of our favorite spots. We managed to smuggle a half dozen home on the plane for our teenager. read more

At the time, I thought the donuts were fine, not outstanding, but certainly not bad, but I thought the prices were about double what I thought they would be, but what do I know? The last couple of weekends I've been down in OC and on the way back up stopped in at a couple of highly rated donut shops in the Fountain Valley/Westminster area, and lo and behold, the prices were less than half the prices at SloDoCo. But the galling thing is the donuts were far superior! Again, I don't eat a lot of donuts, but I certainly think the prices here are really high, maybe there's a scarcity of good donut shops in health conscious SLO county that make this place worth the ratings, so be it, but I'm not impressed. read more

Good timing, I suppose! Anyhow, we stopped here after dinner and got too many donuts! I cannot remember them all, but I know I very much enjoyed some Glazed Old Fashioned (a standard by which I judge donut spots), Vienna Cream Filled, Creme Brulee Filled, and some version of a cronut (which wasn't the best, but it was still pretty good). When we went they didn't have my favorite apple fritter. While we waited, we took advantage of their sitting area, enjoyed some good music, and had some friendly banter with the employees. Since I stopped by the donut shop in San Luis Obispo, I thought of donuts again and stopped by in Atascadero. This is in the Galaxy Theater location, it must be really nice in the evening because of all the neon lights. When I first walked up to go through the door I saw wood all over the place and it looked like someone came by and broke all the table settings but after a second glance it was a large cornhole set. Ok, main reason why I went was for coffee and those beautiful and tasty looking donuts. Even though I had the choice of medium or dark coffee, I wanted medium, whew, still too strong, I should of got creme. Ok again, I'm mainly here for the donuts. What can I say.... Great tasting raise donuts. I'll be a fan for life if they keep it up. Customer service was excellent and most likely the Atascadero SLODOCO will be my main go to because of easier access because it's right off the freeway. read more

What can I say. The donuts here are expensive but they are head and shoulders above any other donut shop in our area. Certainly among the best I've ever had. Their selection is amazing, even later in the day. Sadly, they are right across the street from where I charge my electric vehicle so whenever I charge, it's DONUT TIME!. There's a lot of choice, including some unusual donuts you might not see in your standard donut store. The spacious store has nice decor with seating off to the side. Is this a chain? If not it's awesome. Even if it is, it's still awesome! SloDo is right next to a Tesla supercharger station so I wandered over for my second charge on my road-trip to LA. First of all the decorations for Halloween were amazing! Next I loved the fact that there were at least 5-6 different kinds of vegan donuts, last the staff was super nice and friendly! Overall my only regret was the sugar overload I got from my red velvet mocha, but I think that was my own fault. Next time, I'll stick with black coffee to balance out the delicious donuts! read more

Driving through Atascadero and saw this shop. Decided to give it a try and glad I did. The donut was good and fresh. Also the coffee was not your average donut shop coffee. They use a local coffee roasting co and it was great. If you are a donut fan it's a must stop. Staff friendly and they have options such as gluten free and vegan if needed. Only ding is it is also a bit more expensive than your average shop but the quality is there to justify it. read more

These were some of the best donuts I've had in a very very long time. They had the lavender doughnut had the right amount of lavender flavor not a perfume flavor but a lavender flavor best donut ever. The galaxy donut oh my goodness just when I thought my mouth wasn't going to enjoy anything more I've been into this doughnut and was pleasantly pleased. Now the glaze twist is always my favorite and I judge a donut shop based off of their twist this place did not disappoint my only complaint was I didn't get anything hot to dip it in but that was my issue not theirs. Wow I had one of their vegan chocolate offerings and a cup 'o joe. Glad i did! This is a charming upscale restaurant with delicious donuts! They also have a super clean bathroom and wi-fi. Ridiculously expensive, but you know what you're in for when you come here. But after having kids and frequenting this location, I'm appalled at their routinely grotesque Halloween decor. Pre-COVID decor prominently featured a bloodied, decomposing zombie torso suspended from the ceiling. Last year featured a Chuckie doll with a bloody knife attached to an active roomba. This year, a hunched demon creature with bloodied teeth right at child's eye level greeted my young kids as they entered the store. Cheap chuckles for an adult, I guess, but to not be able to take my kids for a whole month because management un-apologetically alienates a large base of their clientelle with nightmare-fueling decor? No thanks. It's clearly enough of a pattern to take my business elsewhere. I don't care how fancy the donuts are. read more

Love SLODoCo. We went in once a few days back and they did not have any apple fritters, and their Pronuts display was filled with (what later turned out to be) gluten-free donuts. So our first stop we didn't get anything as that was what we were excited to try...We found out about the misleading/incorrect labeling after we tried to order a Chocolate Pronut and was told they were all GF donuts instead... First visit, zero for zero. The second time we came in they had apple fritters! Yay! Now the Pronut sign is covered by one that reads, Gluten Free... We were told eventually they'll bring them up here but that they don't have them for now. So second visit, one out of two. The inside is cool, lots of books to grab and read, a fun fireplace in the middle that serves both the outside and the inside. Though I hope they add cushions to the outside bench as it looks super uncomfortable all bare metal. I've been going to the SLO location for a decade, so we all know this place in A-Town will get there. They're just not up to the same level and availability as the SLO location yet. I'm sure it'll happen, in the meantime, my apple fritter (arguably the best donut style in the world) was great. read more

Unique donut shop with a selection of interesting flavors. This was my first time in a SloDoCo, so my learning curve was steep. We happened to be lucky enough to get a server that was patient with our questions and helpful in his descriptions of the various donuts. On his recommendation I got the boysenberry cream cheese pillow, and it was excellent - smooth, light, and fresh with a creamy fruit filling. I also got a cup of medium roast coffee, which was nothing special, but tasty enough and a good balance to the sweetness of the donut. This does seem to be a trendy place, which is a little unexpected for me. They were bumping ambient groove music, the modern fireplace was going, and the exterior patio looks like a place to have a beer. I did notice that the other employees seemed less than happy to interact with customers. The place has a vibe to it that says, "Check our all our amazing donuts, but don't ask us questions. It's sooo annoying that you would come in here, where it's obviously the best, and not know what to do." But like I said, our server overcame the vibe and was super helpful. read more

They have young girls usually working and I have to say they are some of the rudest. Once in a while I get a nice one but most of the time not. SloDoCo is now conveniently located in North County and right next to the Galaxy Theater. This shop is fun because it has great decor, nice indoor and outdoor seating, and beautiful donuts. The staff is really friendly, and patient. This location is convenient - just off 101 and ample parking. The Marshmallow Galaxy is round, rainbow deliciousness! Glazed donut with multicolor frosting on top, and a metallic dust to give it that extra touch. The staff is kind enough to let you choose your color scheme. The coffee is smooth and goes well with the sweet offerings, but not a standout. Reasonably-priced and much needed for early morning donuts. This place just has a fun, welcoming feel - right down to the emojis for items in their POS system. Cute and cool all at once. Worth a stop if you're passing through and don't want to trek to the original location in SLO. Love it! read more

On our way back to the Bay Area from Prismo, we had to make stop here after finding this place thru Yelp. It was worth the quick detour. They have something for everyone it seemed: Gluten-free, vegan, jam-filled, custard-filled, sweet, savory, sweet & savory...I think you get the picture. I always come to SloDoCo later at night and I love that not only are they open in the nighttime, but that they always have a good selection of donuts to still choose from. My favorite is their lavender donut. It 100% tastes like real lavender and not like a sickeningly sweet syrup. It's so satisfying. All of their donuts are so creative and delicious. I'm not a vegan, but I really love their vegan donuts. It's like healthier decadence and you can't beat that. The prices are a little higher than that from Sunshine or some of the other donut shops in the city, but you're paying for creativity and uniqueness and I'm okay with that. I love the inside and how they have social distance markers. The inside makes you feel like you're stepping into a cozy, cool hang out spot and while with the pandemic, that's not necessarily available right now, it does create a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. After rocking his Ozzy costume all day for Halloween, my boyfriend and I got a real kick out of how jazzed the staff was to see him as Ozzy. This donut shop is great if you: like lots of options and specialty flavors, want a GREAT latte with your donut, or want to stick around to hang out. They have rotating flavors every month in addition to their classics. They have a full espresso bar with lattes, frappuccinos, and tea. They use Cambria Coffee's Slake beans which are delicious. They also have a good indoor seating area and a nice covered outdoor area. They are not, however, my favorite donut by any means. I wouldn't say the focus here is an amazing classic raised or buttermilk etc. for that I'd reccomend one of the local small shops that only offer the classics.
