All the donut shops in our area were closed so we decided to give Dolly's a try. They had a great assortment of donuts on a Sunday afternoon. Service was great. The donuts were good. I like my donuts fluffy. These were not as fluffy as I would like them but they were not bad. I have had Dolly's in another location and did not care for them. I am glad that this is not the case here. read more

Located in the Albertsons shopping center, is Dolly's Donuts. Greeted when we entered. Plenty of seating and plenty of fluffy donuts. We were surprised they had sooo many on Sunday after 11am. I got a raspberry filled and cream filled. Good Stuff. read more

Very small do it shop. Had 2 staff working in the morning about 730 am. Quick service. Not a lot of choices. Very tiny shop. Not great for dine in. Outside the homeless are a problem and one was sitting on the sidewalk. They are constantly stealing from Albertsons and need to hire security for the center $1.90 for one glazed old fashioned donut. Definitely not my favorite donut shop. read more

This was my neighborhood donut shop when I lived in Paso years ago. Was happy to stop in again and sample the goods- still great! We made the 50-minute donut pilgrimage from King City to Dolly's Donuts in Paso Robles--and it was every bit the sweet salvation we hoped for. You see, we've been in mourning ever since we lost our beloved local shop, Donut King (moment of silence please). Quality donuts have been hard to come by ever since... until now! We walked in right at closing, half-expecting the "we're done for the day" vibes--but instead, we were greeted with warmth, big smiles, and the most welcoming energy from the wonderful woman working the counter. Not only was she cheerful and full of light, but she took the time to chat with us, learn a little about our sad, donutless lives in King City, and shared in our excitement for finding "the one." She was kind, polite, and had that rare magic of making you feel like an old friend. Now... the DONUTS. Oh. My. Goodness. DELIGHTFUL doesn't even scratch the surface. My middle child, grabbed a chocolate chip, chocolate-filled donut and held it like a precious family heirloom--no joke, not one bite was shared. Luckily, we had a second one (praise be!), and it was every bit as rich, sweet, and perfectly balanced as our donut-deprived souls dreamed it would be. Their box says "Best in Town"--and we're here to confirm: they are absolutely right. Dolly's Donuts is a gem, and we'll be making the trip again soon, no question about it. Came to this hidden gem and was blown away by the fresh selection of donuts!! There was everything from classic maple bars and apple fritters to new croissant donuts!! You should definitely check this place out and purchase a few dozen donuts. The service is very fast and will have you in and out in no time. Truly worth taking things to-go! read more

We have tried the 24 hour donut spot on Spring and Twisted Glaze multiple times and the donuts here are the best. My favorite donut is a glazed twist. It has to be fluffy and glazed all over. This place always gets it right. The 24 hour donut and twisted glaze had the exact same terrible twist. They were both really dense and the glaze was awful. I wouldn't be surprised if the twisted glaze didn't just buy their donuts from the 24 hour spot. I don't know what the complaints are about customer service because we always have an extremely pleasant experience. They are so nice to me and my son. read more

Dollys donuts has the best selection of all sorts of delicious donuts!! I really enjoy their plain croissants as well as their ham,cheese and jalapeño croissants. Best tasting donuts in town by far! I've lived here for years and Dolly's Donuts is my #1. They have a good selection of fresh tasting donuts for not being a huge donut shop, easy parking too. I go in once a week and get my favorite apple fritter, I'm there by 6:30-7am and it's always warm. The shop isn't fancy inside but from what I've observed it's always clean. And I noticed someone mentioning homeless outside, I've only seen that very very few times and due to the city's efforts of managing the homeless hanging out in business areas I haven't seen any homeless there for a long time. I've never had an issue with the customer service, you're not going to get the warm butt kissing fuzzies or someone who runs their mouth and BS you so you'll leave a tip, but they've always been nice and courteous to me. Lastly some have commented about a $1 credit card service fee, this is a small mom & pop shop who ONLY charge a $1 fee if you're spending less than $10, this fee isn't uncommon in most smaller businesses! read more

Don't trust them. The donuts are adequate but overpriced. More importantly, I went in and asked if I could get a custom order. The woman at the counter told me no problem - just call the day before. I did that the next week and the guy that answered the phone said no way - what if you don't show up? No offer to pay in advance or any other solution. Didn't care that I had received a whole different story from another staffer. Went to SloDoCo in Atascadero who handled my custom order beautifully. I live right near these clowns but will never go there again. read more

The donuts are great and so is the price! Here is my reason for a low rating: Summary: Main woman is rude and doesn't know what kind of donuts she sells. The main woman who I presume is the owner is incredibly rude. I have just moved into town a month ago and I've been looking for a good donut place. My boyfriend called the store to ask if they have blueberry donuts. She answered and said "No. Blueberry cake. I have customer bye" and hung up on him! He didn't even get to say anything else! I called myself about 20 min later and asked the same question "do you have blueberry donuts?" She sounded frustrated and gave me such terrible attitude over the phone. She said "no. blueberry cake. Do you not know what cake is?" And hung up on me! I decided to check the place out for myself the next day. First and foremost they don't sell cake lol The nice man in the front helped me. I asked him if they had blueberry donuts. HE SAID YES??? I ended up getting the blueberry donuts. I understand "cake donuts" but tbh its still a donut. Do I know what cake is? DOES SHE KNOW WHAT DONUTS ARE? Idk how or why this woman was confused. Idk why she had to give me attitude. I'd like to keep coming back because the man was so nice and the donuts are good. But if I can avoid it, I'd rather have someone else take my order than the woman who doesn't even know what kind donuts she sells. read more

Crushed Oreo sprinkles aside, when it comes to rummaging around for donuts--there are so many, many, many out there these days, making it fun (and sometimes rather difficult, it seems) to choose from among them all--what I tend to really appreciate are the family-owned donut shops--the blue-collared, hard working, mom-and-pop shops. They may not serve the most creative, outside-the-box donuts anyone's ever seen or tasted, but they're honest; and I feel they go the extra mile to earn your patronage. In fact, they're counting on it. A smile and a "thank you" go a long way, after all. Dolly's is this kind of donut shop. As soon as I walked in, without having yet even spoken a word, I felt appreciated. (And I thought an Oreo-topped Glaze couldn't get any better.) read more

In my opinion the best way to start a day is with a delicious donut. Dollys has the best donuts in town. And the owners are also great. They always take the time to chat with my kids and I and always throw in a little extra. And theyre prices are reasonable and in line with other local shops. The only con is that their seating area is old and cramped, but we also usually take out donuts to go read more

So I used to be a regular customer over the years. Several years ago I noticed that the price had went up significantly and the quality started suffering. The chocolate they used no longer tasted like chocolate and more like a plastic or chemical taste. I assumed that maybe ownership had changed and/or maybe they started using cheaper ingredients. Either way I decided that this was no longer a regular place for me to purchase donuts. I have only been in there a couple of times since to see if anything had changed. It had not. Today I got a surprise. I went in and bought 3 donuts. It was still super expensive, $4.85. I went to pay with my card and the person behind the counter tells me that they are going to charge me $1.00 to use my card. What? Wait they are paying maybe 1.8% because of my using a Visa. That equates what, .10¢ or so? Certainly not a buck. Talk about feeling ripped off........ and the worst part the donuts didn't taste any better. They will no longer be getting any further business from me. Done being ripped off and now from local businesses? I DO NOT Recommend this place any longer! There are much better places that will not try and rip you off! Good Luck! read more

Once upon a time in 2003 I lived here for 5 minutes. One evening I wanted donuts. Went by and they were closed. My Grandpa said that's what happens in a small town. All these years have passed and here I am living here now settled in for 6 months. Just went by there because I had a donut craving, and they are closed! 4:30 on a Friday, really! Am I surprised? No! Small place but perfect for a drop by donut craving. We got a cinnamon twist, old fashion and a vanilla sprinkle. Tastes like the old fashioned one has more vanilla than ones I've tasted. Very flavorful. Cinnamon twist is huge! And very fluffy and yummy. Incredibly fresh (8:30am). The man there was very nice and was surprised my 5-yr old daughter didn't choose the pink one! Rude staff, dirty store front. Stood at the counter waiting for someone to come from the back forever. They charge you a $1.00 to use your card. I was going to buy a bunch of treats for the family. Sadly I just walked out after she rudely informed me the type of donut I was looking at. Hope this isn't their norm these days, most likely won't be in business much longer. read more

Great variety of donuts! I especially love that they have French crullers available daily as they are my absolute favorite. Everything tastes fresh and I have literally never gotten a stale donut from them. They have the nicest staff as well. They store itself is a bit dated, but it definitely has the old donut shop feel! read more

This is really the only donut place in Paso to go to for the freshest, most traditional style and all-around delicious tasting donut. I've lived here my entire life and it has been our only spot through all the years they've been open to find a great tasting, consistent donut. I've skipped years in between and come back to the same owners and same donuts as any other visit. We have been to every other donut place in town and nothing compares! read more

We got ham and cheese croissants and a couple donuts. All were very good and fresh tasting. The people that work here are so kind and sweet. We brought our daughter in after she had been crying in the car. The woman working could tell she was upset and added a couple extra donut holes in for her. You can tell they really care about the people they serve, as they are always chatting and friendly with everyone that walks in the door. read more

The staff was exceptionally happy and cheerful, I mean laughing and smiling and genuinely happy to be of service and happy to sell me a bear claw. The bear claw was fresh, very fresh, and had lots of filling and I enjoyed this one a lot! This place is a bit hidden off in the corner of the Albertson's parking lot across from Walmart, but if you want a donut, or a dozen for the office, Dolly's is a very good choice. I sure do like supporting the small businesses and hope you do too. read more

Ugh, so bad. The frosting tastses like chemicals. I tried a bite of my sons white frosted sprinkle doughnut and didnt let him finish it. Really strange aftertaste on all of the doughnuts we bought. There is another great doughnut place in town, skip this one. read more

Customer service was fine. Buttermilk donuts are definitely not buttermilk. All icing is too soft and runny, melts in seconds. My son didn't like his donut either, said it tasted weird. There's definitely something wrong with their recipes. Won't be going back. read more

First time customer and I ordered 2 dozen, nice gentlemen behind the counter threw in 4 more. All the different donuts were great. I live in San Simeon and this is one of the closer places to get donuts. They were still pretty fresh on the 4th day but I think the 5th day would be pushing it. Not at all a concise concept, Rings along the back-wall difficult to decipher and those in the case varying significantly, arrival at 8:49am on Sunday oddly found many choices "sold out," though finding an alternative isn't so hard when such abundance is available. Friendly in terms of service, Mother's Day seeing several decorative options offered, $3.95 for a simple glazed Ring with a dollop of Oreo Cream feels expensive considering all three Yeasted options were no better than those yielded by commercial pre-Mix in terms of consistency. Of note, we were never given an option for indoor seating when making our reservation nor when we were seated. After ordering, we received our starter (shishito peppers) within 10 minutes. However once we finished the starter we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our entrees. There was no communication from the wait staff at all, no refills on water, nothing. In fact in the patio dining area I saw three plates of food (including our peppers) delivered to tables in the hour we had been sitting there. Interestingly the wait staff all seemed very busy and moved around the restaurant but not much appeared to get done. Having worked in hospitality previously I have a lot of empathy for the staff as they seemed to lack direction and management support. My husband ordered the mushroom and scallop pasta. It was okay. Overpriced, but was tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and steak. The chile relleno was filled with a large amount of corn that tasted freezer burnt. My steak was thin and grey and overcooked. It was nearly all grey inside with a couple spots of pink. It wasn't seasoned either. The sauces on the plate were good. Our server was polite and did take it off the menu. However, no manager ever came by to check on us or any other table on the patio in the time we were there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. It was a real let down to have a lackluster food and service experience at "one of the nicest places" in Paso.

My dad tried the salmon taco, which he thought was just okay. A bit greasy and not something he'd reorder, but still fine for a quick bite. The outdoor seating is lovely -- a peaceful garden-style patio that makes the whole experience feel relaxed and charming. My only wish is that the menu had a few more options, as it's definitely on the limited side. Overall, great ambiance, exceptional salad, the service is fast, friendly; a nice little stop if you're passing through Paso Robles.
