By all means, Slowpokes is a unique cafe with delicious coffee. The iced oat milk latte was one of the best ones that I've had in Houston. However, it ended up being a terrible working spot for me. The music was loud and distracting. I saw multiple flies flying in the air. The place also got super loud around lunchtime. It was so bad that I had to go to a different cafe. Again, the coffee was great, and I've read good things about their sandwiches. I just don't think this is a good spot if you plan to study and be productive. read more

This is by far my favorite slowpokes location out of the 3. The employees are always super friendly and the drinks on point. For this visit, I got their ube latte. It was perfect cause it wasn't too sweet which is how I prefer my coffee. I decided to get it iced which was great for the hot day. They had pastries on display from flo Paris but I decided on a cookie from Michael's cookie jar-a Reese's pieces cookie to be exact. I was super duper not excited when i walked in. The super uncomfortable looking industrial furnishing, packs of laptop consuming starbuck types occupying ever other available spot. The coffee was meh, the fact they sell wine is even weirder. Then the salmon bagel, thats what they call that traditional jewish meal. It was fresh, tasty. The fresh thinly sliced onions gave the satisfying crunch with every bite. The only negative besides the starbuck like seat boarders is the ice coffee is a bit on the sour side. We LOVE slowpokes! All of their coffee drinks that I've tried (honey pea, honey cinnamon, ube, and vanilla latte - all with almond milk) have been delicious. We've also tried the chicken pesto sandwich, the Proscuitto sandwich, the salmon bagel, and the breakfast bagel. All have been SO yummy (I especially love the pretzel buns!). It's definitely on the pricier end but the atmosphere is so adorable and it's a great place to get some work done. Also love all of the local baked goods. I will have to take a photo next time. This place was wonderful. I was able to slide into a table before it got too busy. However even with it being busy there was enough room for people to continue to sit and fill tables. They have some outside seating as well as bar seating. Limited plugs just gotta find the right spots. The food and coffee were great. The music that played was very chill and played at level where you could still think, talk, work etc. Definitely recommend. Went during happy hour with a friend Thursday at 4 PM. Location: it is kind of hidden! It's basically behind a shopping center but it sort of connects to a neighborhood as well. Kind of weird lol but as long as you use waze it should take you directly! I know my friend mentioned that apple map will take you elsewhere so be careful. Parking: they have limited parking but when I went there was plenty of spots open. I also went at 4 PM on a Thursday but i can see how it could fill up real quick Atmosphere: they have a huge inside with outside patio seating. I love the open feel as they kept the doors open even tho my friend and I sat outside. Food: ok so their food is actually really good!! I got the spinach Kolache and the pretzel and they were amazing!!! The sauce is delicious and pairs well with it. Drinks: They have some decent happy hour prices. I had Sauvignon Blanc and it was about 5.5 dollars per glass. Not a huge selection but not a small selection either. They also offer non alcoholic drinks. Service: excellent all around!!! The staff really goes above and beyond to provide great service and that alone is why they get 5 stars and why I will continue to come back! LOL even tho it's far for me. I really wanted to love this place but the barista was the first impression and it wasn't a good one. She was rude and only wanted to give attention to a man at the bar. She didn't offer add ons or anything, just took my order and that was it, walked away before I could even pay. I had been craving a salmon bagel and the only thing good was the nice guy who brought it out. The bagel was so hard to the point where my jaws hurt after eating it. I came here a couple of weeks back to see my friend after social distancing for 6 months. It's a great little cafe/bar with ample seating and picnic tables outside. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They delivered our drinks outside and did rounds for drink orders. After social distancing for so long I was a little edgy, but I had a great experience. The meat flatbread (4 slices)was really good and we really enjoyed the charcuterie board. Everything was great and I'd definitely come here or visit their other locations. Probably would be good for first dates, hang out with friends, and a good pit stop to do a little work during the day. I came here for the Yelp elite event in December even though my boyfriend and I were regulars here we were happy to try the donuts something different from what we would normally order and oh boy we were not disappointed! The donuts and the sauce with them are a musttttt try they are so good! Better than Shipley's I will go as far as saying that! Do not sleep on these donuts and pair them with some coffee! The coffee here is super delicious also and they have lots of syrup options! Don't be fooled by the back parking lot , they have about 8 spots but if you park on the long point side there is literally like 200 spots . The staff is attentive , fast and polite ! The coffee is roasted in house , which it can't get any better than that! Only recommendation I have is fans on the backside patio in the small alley way. We've now visited all the slowpokes locations and this one felt extra inviting with a true "neighborhood coffee shop" feel. The lavender honey latte with oat milk was beautiful and was the right amount of sweet. The When in Roma Sandwich was super fresh and a great lunch portion. Shoutout to the staff who were kind and attentive making our visit five+ star worthy. We came on a Saturday afternoon. This spot is behind some shops but it was pretty easy to find. We ordered an iced hazelnut latte with almond milk and a shaken espresso with oat milk which totaled out a little under $10. We sat at the bar and waited for our drinks. The bar chairs are really hard and there wasn't really anywhere else to sit except outside (100degrees no thanks) We got our drinks and were extremely disappointed. The latte tasted like milk. My husband added vanilla syrup to it and even though it made it better he still only had a few sips. I had to added SF vanilla to my shaken espresso so it was alright. Needless to say we were disappointed after reading all the great reviews. The only great part of this visit was the customer service we received from the cashier. I didn't get her name but she was great! She was wearing a ponytail and you could see her sides were shaved off. We had great convos and she was extremely friendly. She was making a Monster Mash drink when we asked her what it was made of. She let us try it and it was good. She was the only employee with excellent customer service. We would have stayed a little longer but the chairs at the bar were hurting us so we decided to leave. Unfortunately this coffee spot is not what we expected and we will not be back. read more

Cute little place tucked behind a shopping strip. The place had a lot of space to sit and wasn't too loud. Nice seating out slide as well. Ordered the flat white and mocha latte. Flat white was great and mocha latte even more. I could actually taste the chocolate and haven't had that experience at any coffee shop. This mocha latte puts all others to shame Also got the churro donuts. And did not regret it one bit. So soft and fluffy even after bringing it home and reheating. There was a sauce that went with it. I highly recommend Slowpokes. What a wonderful atmosphere, very relaxing and a great place to work. I arrived today at 10:30 a.m. and found plenty of working space available. The location is a hidden gem in the Spring Branch community. Hidden because you cannot see it from Long Point Rd. I recommend you park on the east end of the Spring Branch Village Mall because the coffee shop is behind the mall. You will see a hallway that leads to the coffee shop. You have the option to drive to the back where it is located but there is very limited parking on the property. You have the option to park on the street but today the street parking was full. The coffee shop does have wifi but you have to purchase a drink or food item to access it by entering your name, email, receipt number and amount of purchase. I ordered a large Lazy Latte made with oat milk with lavender and honey for $6.50 plus tip. The drink was a great one time try but not my taste so I won't be ordering it again. I also ordered their Avocado Mash flatbread that came with a crunchy cauliflower crust, mashed avocado, arugula, grape tomatoes, lemon, oil and salt. All I have to say is what an amazing taste! I'm not an arugula fan but the combination of toppings gave it a beautiful crunchy taste! I'm not vegan nor vegetarian but I highly recommend this flatbread which cost $14.00 plus tax and tip for a total of $17.96. I was told that the portion was half of a regular pizza but I was able to eat it all. I'm sure some folks will still be hungry afterwards. The coffee shop staff were nice and very laid back.
