I've been going to bikini treatments here for a few months. The procedure has been working really well and I'm quite happy with the results for the price. The only criticism I have is that nothing looks very clinical. I tell myself that their supplies and machines are sanitary and I haven't had any problems so far (knock on wood), but they could make it look a bit more professional in the treatment rooms. My review is solely based on their customer service. I took my mom for a 15 min touch up for different areas. The nurse zapped several of the areas with intermittent pauses. The treatment did not add up to 15 min. When my mom asked the nurse to zap a tiny areas that was not covered, nurse refused and stated "sorry your time is up". When my mom informed me of the incident, I kindly asked the nurse to zap the area that was not covered as her 15 min was not up yet. With attitude the nurse zapped the area and we left the facility satisfied. A few weeks later I made an appt. for myself with the other nurse. As the nurse was lasering the hair in my extremities, I pointed out the areas she missed. Then she had a patient in the other room for a treatment of underarms. I agreed for the nurse to treat the other patient and while I was waiting for her to come back and continue my treatment, to save time, I had marked the missed areas with white pencil. On my next appointment, the manager informed me that the nurses refuse to do any treatments on me ( they only have 2 nurses). When I asked why the reason was, I was told that because of the incident with my mom and because I was intimidating to the nurse when I had marked the missed areas with a pencil. I told the manager that I have a very busy schedule and did not wanted to come back for missed spots. Her response was, if you have missed spots you can come back and will treat it free of charge. My question is why I can not ask the nurse to treat the missed spots during the treatment, instead you want me to come back?? I simply asked for the service that I paid in addition I have always tipped the nurses $20 for every treatment I have had. I don't see how they can continue to have a successful business when their customers are not satisfied and apparently, the nurses have more saying than customers. I do not recommend this place to anyone who wants superb customer service. Avoid at all cost. After reading my review you still choose this facility, do not say I did not warn you! read more

I would give them 5 stars and actually think they deserve 3 for the issue I deal with every time I go in. I purchase 30 minutes and ask them to do full legs, full arms, bikini and underarms. EVERYTIME they tell me they can not do all that in 30 minutes. I tell them to just do as much as they can. As I am very petite, sure enough the nurses always get everything in and have time to spare and ask me if I have anything else I want done. This is very unprofessional behavior as every time I am told it can't be done, and I have to tell them to look in my file and see what was done last time in 30 minutes. If I purchase 30 minutes, I should be able to get whatever they can handle in that much time done. Otherwise they should sell their packages by body parts like other places. Either by minutes or body parts. NOT both! You can't say 30 minutes Full legs, bikini lines or under arms because each person's body is different and the amount of time it takes to treat a tall woman versus a petite one can vary by a lot. Other than that, the place is clean and the nurses are nice and attentive. UPDATE Gave this place another try and now I am convinced they do not deserve my business. Rather then use Yelp reviews constructively to improve their business practices, this place uses the reviews to passive agressively mistreat its customers. You are a service business! RUN AWAY as FAST as you CAN! FIRST APPOINTMENT: They made me wait for several months and then they called the day before to cancel. SECOND APPOINTMENT: I rescheduled since they cancelled me, and was forced to wait for several more months. Once AGAIN they called LAST MINUTE (day before) to CANCEL for the same reason as before, which was that they "ran out of botox." HOW MENTALLY SLOW can a business be? If you sell 1,000 vouchers, THEN buy the equivalent of that amount in botox! I complained, but they made me reschedule again. THIRD APPOINTMENT : The third time, they called me literally hours before to ask me to reschedule AGAIN. THEY ARGUED with me saying it was NOT their fault all 3 times THEY RESCHEDULED AND TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. I told them that based on their ethics, and if i can't trust them to do SIMPLE math or keep scheduled dates, how can I trust them to STICK A NEEDLE IN MY FACE? I used to go another laser center for treatments on my legs. I was told since my hair on my legs is thick I will see results within next two treatments. However, after 4 treatments my results were very minimal. I was very disappointed and started complaining and asking them to increase the energy level but they refused. I then got recommended to SLS by one of my workmates. I called them and got my appointment for my next session with SLS. I have had only 2 additional treatments since then but so far my results are way better. I actually see my skin getting red right after the treatment which tells me energy is at the level that I finally see results. If you get ingrown hairs from shaving like me, this place can get the shaving down to bi-monthly if even that. Granted You do have to come back for a total of 4-6 sessions, but at their rates it's pretty affordable. This place is a 1/3 of the price compared to other places. I was in & out in less than 20 minutes, and that included the initial pep. talk they go over (you know the risk involved mumbo jumbo) Other places want to charge you an hourly rate for small area. Not here! You pay in 15 min. intervals. The nurse was nice, the receptionist was nice. The place is on Van Nuys & Sepulveda's Death corner but worth the drive to the hood. I used to go to Beverly Hills Sunset Tower. Not that their laser was ridiculously intense or anything but the laser used at SLS Laser is far less intense than the other lasers I've experience. This place is so awesome!!!! I've been coming here for years and can't say enough about how awesome the hair removal treatments work! The only reason I've been coming here so long is because I keep picking different body parts to permanently remove hair from lol! I went to these people for a couple sessions and all was well. It was the 4th session that went horribly wrong when they burnt my face. I had to miss a week of work because my chin had swollen. They had a new person that I hadn't seen before and was not competent at all. I immediately called them to tell them what had happened and all they could tell me was to ice my face and stay out of the sun. The 2nd day I called back and said that my chin had gotten worst. I had to drive from Irvine to Van Nuys for them to give me some medicated lotion for my face that did very little to help me. In short I'm still scarred and I don't see it going away. In another scheduled time, I came here to do a whole package including underarm, lower leg and bikini. The two former services I received did not have any troubles but the last one did kill my feeling. Different from the other visits, I got several burnt spots after doing laser. The nurse had used too much intensity to apply onto my sensitive skin and especially had not stop to cool down a little bit even I kept telling her it was extremely hot and painful.After I was finished, The nurse, back to me and taking a look, may have recognized the burnt but i did not since it was so much pain. When I was home and felt irritated, the burnt spots start peeling and itching. It was the most UNCOMFORTABLE experience I have ever had.
