    The Slutty Fries
    Joel H.

Pumped to finally experience Slutty Vegan. Left feeling just ok. Following the Slutty Vegan Instagram account I see all the work being put in to crafting an extensive vegan fast food menu. The first thing I noticed is this location only does burgers and the Philly Cheesesteak. Sad, I was in a chicken mood. I ordered the Fussy Hussy, a banana pudding and two orders of Slutty Fries. The burger was a fine vegan burger. The Slutty Fries were a bit over dusted, my son passed his last few on to me as they were too much for him. The Banana Pudding was the star of the show. Absolutely enthralled with the texture and taste. The service here was good. They greet you when you enter with a call out. The lady who took my order was attentive and answered my question. The food came out rather quickly. Love that the Slutty Vegan franchise seems to focus on local as they offer Cajou Creamery ice cream. I would've dipped into that had the banana pudding not caught my eye. Overall, I think I will be back to try out the bar next door and to experience another one of their burgers. Oh, and to eat that banana pudding again. I'm just not in any rush to do so.

Slutty Vegan Baltimore, It's Worth the Hype!! Took a trip to the Black Owned Slutty Vegan Baltimore for my Big Sis's birthday, she's been dying to try it and finally got to see what all the buzz is about! The location is everything! Right in downtown Baltimore's up and coming Peninsula area, directly across from the Sagamore Rye Distillery. It's a fresh, developing spot that's definitely on the rise. The exterior is sleek and minimal, but once you step inside, boom!!! It's loud, lively, and unapologetically bold. Think vibrant colors, massive wall graphics, and a staff that greets you with energy and personality. They literally call you out as you walk in and it's hilarious and welcoming. Special shoutout to Zaneka (hope I'm spelling that right!) she was amazing. Patient, fun, and super helpful with all our first-timer questions. We were the first ones at the door when they opened, so we had the place to ourselves for a bit! We wanted to try EVERYTHING, but settled on: - The infamous One Night Stand - The Slutty Chicken Caesar Wrap - Both with Slutty Fries - And of course, the Oreo Cookie Milkshake to top it off Everything was flavorful and fun, definitely a unique twist on plant-based comfort food. My only drawback on my One Night Stand was that the Baltimore locations menu indicates that they add in chili on the burger which is not indicated on the online versions of the menu. I'm not a spicy food eater and I THINK that's what put the spice in this burger, I'll have it removed when I come back, but overall everything was pretty good. We ate in so our fries were hot and extra crispy. The milkshake was on point as well. I tried the pomegranate slutty ORGANIC lemonade on the go out and I have no regrets, very robust in flavor and really good. I am definitely a fan. Will be back to try other items on the menu. Go get SLUTTY!! If you're in Baltimore and looking for a bold, unforgettable vegan experience, Slutty Vegan is a must. It's not just a meal, it's a whole vibe. #SluttyVeganBaltimore #VeganEats #PlantBasedParty #BaltimoreFoodie #BirthdayBites #SluttyVibes #FoodWithAttitude #VeganComfortFood #SisterCelebration #BaltimorePeninsulaEats

I was excited to try this place but was left disappointed. Vibe is fun for sure, branding is bold with lots of personality. Ordered the one night stand & Hollywood hooker. First off, the food took almost half an hour. When we got our food, the cheesesteak (Hollywood hooker) was already falling apart and messy (...maybe that's where it got its name from lol). We had to go back in for napkins and utensils. Sandwich was soggy and lukewarm, despite eating it right away upon receiving. And the price, I understand plant based ingredients can be pricey, but I left feeling like the value didn't quite match the cost.

Of Course this black owned business and Baltimore native's restaurant was on my Yelp List to check out. I was able to hang with my oldest daughter while checking out this restaurant. This was my 1st time really trying a vegan burger and I was amazed by how good the burgers and fries were. We ordered the Fussy Hussy & the One Night Stand with seasoned fries. Our food was ready within 10 mins of ordering. I love a good messy burger & it was nicely seasoned and of course SLUTTY to my liking!!! Burgers were priced at $20 each so be prepared. The area is new up and coming with Bar Vegan sharing a space on the other side of the restaurant. There is very limited booth seating and a few stools up against the wall to sit at with a Merch counter to pick up any Slutty Vegan gear. Street parking is available. Definitely a must try and will definitely return.

I am so glad that they finally brought SV to Baltimore! I've been wanting to try it for years, and it did not disappoint! It's in a cool up and coming area, lots of street parking. I went on a Friday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. There are only two tables inside the restaurant, plus a bar-type seating area near the register, but there's tables outside as well. Luckily we got to sit inside. I actually loved the simplicity of the menu. I decided to try the Slutty Hussy burger, which came with fries. I also got a strawberry dragonfruit drink. They also serve ice cream from Cajou Creamery, a vegan and black owned company. I'll have to try a scoop next time. The burger- wow!! I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was! I'm not vegan but I have tried other vegan burgers, but this one tasted really close to the real thing. Seasoned well and the toppings were perfect. The fries were delicious and hot. The drink was very good too! I definitely want to come back and try a different burger next time.

Finally made my way to the Baltimore location. I placed an order online for pickup. I decided on the Hollywood Hooker. My order was ready upon arrival. Taste and texture wise, the sandwich was good. My only problem, the fries were cold when I got in my car with plans to devour them. Also, I requested no dust on my fries but received them dusted- too salty for my palate.

I was finally able to go back and try Slutty Vegan after seeing it next door while I was at the grand opening of Bar Vegan. I had been wanting to check it out for a while, but this was my first visit back. After standing in line and tearing them announce loudly when another team member walked in, "We got another SLUT in the building!" or calling out the order is being placed and a side eyed manner, I couldn't determine if it was fun or slightly over the top. They definitely teeter-totter on the line of that and it was a little . . . . . I'm not exactly sure how to describe it but I was thinking of not answering the building again. I browsed the menu, and decided to try the "Wrap It Up" because it there were oyster mushrooms and old bay--something I was really excited about trying! I love mushrooms & old bay but I've never tried the combination before on a burger. I also ordered fries, and my date did the same. We took the food over to Sagmore and grabbed some drinks to wrap up the evening. However, when I opened my order I noticed a "Sloppy Toppy" sticker on it. I hesitated to open it, especially since it looked more like a burrito than and burger. When I unwrapped it, I realized it was a wrap, not the burger I thought I had ordered. My date took it back across the street to the restaurant, and when he returned, he said they confirmed it was the right sandwich, just with the wrong sticker. I'm so glad I took pictures because I couldn't remember the name of the dish I had ordered. Upon looking back, I saw that the dish was actually called "Wrap It Up," but the description didn't clarify that it was a wrap--especially considering it was on the burger menu. I'll admit that I assumed it was a burger, but a clearer description would have helped. As for the oyster mushrooms, they weren't crispy as I had hoped, which was a bit disappointing. When the gentleman took my order and gave me the option of deep fried or sautéed, I couldn't believe my hears! But of course I want them deep fried, Sir lol I can't completely write them off just yet because I still have not tried their vegan burger! SMH I was a little let down by the miscommunication and the texture of the mushrooms. Hoppefully the menu descriptions get improved to stop confusion.

Before I visited this establishment, I was a little off put by the concept of junk vegan food, though intrigued. I'd heard such good things about Slutty Vegan in Atlanta and when it opened here, I went. Kudos for the ambiance and style of the place. Bold colors and graphics abound. The employees yell out some kind of code about sluts when people walk in, which cracked me up every time I heard it. I definitely rank employee interaction there high, as I had a good time ordering. That accounts for my two stars. This place is tiny, there is virtually no seating. There's a short bar with maybe 2-3 stools, and 2 tables with banquet seats which can only accommodate 4 adults, maybe. There were approximately 6 burger options. I went with the dancehall queen, which features jerk plantains. I also went with some drink recommended by the employee who took my order. Food came out fairly quickly, and I picked up my bag from the counter. I immediately recognized the fries were excellent. Then I went to unwrap the burger from the wrap. I could tell right away it was going to be super messy to eat, a situation where I wouldn't want to put the burger down once I picked it up. A burger that disintegrates because it's got so much crap on it (in this case cheese and other sauces). And despite all the extras put on the burger for flavor, the patty tasted like absolutely nothing to me, very bland. The biggest flavor pop was from the jerk plantains, but that wasn't enough to overshadow a flavorless patty. So, I'm still not sold on junk vegan, especially at $30 for the meal and tip.

I hope with the amount I paid for the burger that the employees are paid a livable wage, cause that's the only reason I can think of the pay nearly $30 for an extremely mid experience. If they grilled the bun and caramelized the onions properly the burger would have been fantastic, but all in all, this was a $15 burger with a hefty price tag. Baltimore is full of fantastic vegan options, I'd recommend those instead

Amazing service today. Zamicka recommended the Hollywood Hooker their version of a steak and cheese with awesome fries. It was delicious. Everything was piping hot and fresh. I loved the chili sauce too! I came from Washington, DC but will definitely be traveling back to get my holy hookup! The place s bright and airy. Love! Love! Love

HEY SLUT! So glad Baltimore finally has its own Slutty Vegan. I no longer have to wait until I go to Atlanta to get a dancehall burger. You do NOT have to be vegan to enjoy their food. Everything tastes like the real deal. Parking is decent, parallel street parking, garage, and lot. Food is ALWAYS on point. Friendly staff. Ample seating. The creamy ricotta filling with red pepper sauce was to die for. For mains, we shared the Lasagna and did a half and half pizza of The Gabriel and the Toum Raider. The lasagna was super savory and very filling--perfect to share! I enjoyed both pizzas, but the Gabriel was my favorite. I loved the combo of the nutty pesto and spicy Calabrian chilis. Josie brought out a cupcake for dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was probably one of the best vegan treats I've ever had! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!

For the food we tried the stuffed dates, miso mushroom bucatini and the toum raider pizza. The stuffed dates were recommended by our waitress and they were delicious. They were both sweet, savory and a little spicy. The walnuts that topped it were a nice touch to add texture to the already soft dates, I enjoyed it a lot. The miso mushroom bucatini was also a favorite of ours as it didn't taste vegan at all to us. It was creamy and the pasta was cooked well. My daughter enjoyed this a lot. The pizza wasn't my favorite but I'm also not a huge fan of vegan cheese so that is my fault but the miso mushroom bucatini was truly so delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the experience, the service was impeccable and I would definitely visit here again!

There were two each of Meatball Parm, French Onion Melt, Cheeseburger Cheesesteak, BBQ Jackfruit and Oyster Chick'n. All of them were well done, held up in transit and tasted good as leftovers. The sliders came with three sides: a container of Bourbon Baked Beans, Traditional Mac Salad and Chips and Chili Queso These were also well done. I order a side of falafels (3) and the street bowl with beef flank, tzatziki, and mild red pepper sauce. The falafels were way too crispy. I feel like compared to other falafels I've tried these were on the hard side. Thankfully I had some tzatziki sauce to dip them in, if I didn't, they would have been a little hard to eat. The flavor was okay but the texture was not appealing. I really wanted to get beef shawarma but they were out so I opted for the beef flank. I wish I would have just gotten chicken instead. The bowl came with rice and a lettuce salad that was underneath the beef. I'm not sure if the lettuce had arugula in it as well, but the lettuce gave sort of a bitter taste which I did not care for at all. Did not taste good so I would add a lot of tzatziki sauce to it to cut down on the bitter taste. The beef was okay, nothing to rave about. I was just very underwhelmed with my food. Not sure if I would give it a try again. If so, I would definitely get something else or build my own bowl maybe. Try it for yourself and see how you like it.

I wanted to try everything LOL. I decided on the Mac black bean burger with a side of fries($20). I see why their Mac is award-winning. I forgot it was vegan for a second! So delicious and creamy. The black bean burger was seasoned VERY well and cooked perfectly. Most black bean burgers get messy and fall apart, this one didn't. Fries were great as well, perfect amount of salt. -Customer service was amazing. Cashier was laughing with me cause I was one of the 10000 people who couldn't find the entrance LOL. -Restaurant was clean and well stocked. Music playlist was fire! -Entrance is kind of hard to find. You enter on Franklin Street. Can't wait to come back and try more items! Hope you enjoy!

I love this place and come here whenever I'm in town!…read more You order using the kiosk they have inside and they'll call your name when it's ready. It's never too busy when I go, so the wait is never any longer than 15 minutes. I recommend the Mac n Cheese burger, the drummies, and the cauliflower bites. My favorite thing is ordering buffalo chicken drummies and adding them to the mac n cheese to make buffalo mac! They should add it as a menu item cause it's bomb. I wouldn't recommend the desserts, a little too hard and too sweet for my liking. This is definitely one of my favorite vegan spots in MD !

Adorable and quirky cafe that is 100% worth all the hype, the long waits, and the hard-to-snag…read morereservations. I visited Golden West Cafe on a Sunday afternoon with a moderately large group (7 people). We were originally hoping for a brunch reservation but could only snag a 3 PM slot -- a testament to how incredibly popular they are -- although we ended up being ready at 2 PM and called ahead to ask if they could seat us earlier. They, very graciously, were able to make space for us to come a tad earlier. The food was absolutely incredible -- it was some combination of American comfort and Mexican / Latin American, with classic Mexican items like huevos ranchos, fish tacos, and enchiladas right next to traditional American brunch selections like chicken and waffles, hot cakes, and so forth. Their menu is also remarkably vegetarian / vegan-friendly, and it features their own house-made vegan chicken! We decided to split a few items, including the zucchini brie hot cakes, fish tacos, and vegan hot honey chicken and waffles. All three were outstanding, but my favorite had to be the zucchini brie hot cakes. The cakes were remarkably soft and fluffy, and I loved the bit of sweetness from the zucchini (and maple syrup, of course), and the extra hit of rich creaminess and savoriness from the brie. It was the perfect sweet and savory combo, and it was easily one of the biggest surprises of the meal. The rest of the items were also delicious, although not quite as wowing. The fish tacos were well-fried and flavorful, and I was quite impressed by how crispy and thin their accompanying fries were. I really enjoyed the flavor of the hot honey vegan chicken and waffles, but I was, admittedly, a little bit thrown off by the texture of both. It's very possible that the waffle had just gotten a bit soggy because I ate this dish last and it wasn't quite at its peak freshness. Either way, I really enjoyed my time here, and it's 100% worth I try. I can't wait to make my way back to Hampden to sample the rest of their menu!

Golden West Cafe…read more First visit to Hampden and Golden West Cafe -- and it definitely lived up to the hype. Drinks: Baltimore Vice -- strawberry-forward with a Don Q rum float, coconut foam, and freeze-dried strawberries. Light, refreshing, and very easy to drink. Piñata Riot -- a tequila twist on a jungle bird. Slightly bitter, tropical, and well-balanced. Both cocktails were solid and worth ordering again. Food: Green Chili Burger -- while it didn't quite hit true Albuquerque green chile standards, it was still flavorful and satisfying. A strong menu option. Zucchini Brie Pancake -- the standout dish. Unexpectedly balanced between sweet and savory, rich without being too heavy, and something I'd absolutely reorder. Overall: Great first impression. The menu has a lot of variety, the cocktails are creative and well-executed, and it feels like one of those places you could keep coming back to and try something new every time. Would I go back? Absolutely.
