Hey friends! If I could give 10/5 stars I would! I love that this is a health-focused Black owned business. I've been following them on Instagram for a while and drooling over their posts LOL. I finally was in the area and came by. First of all, I had a hard time choosing my meal. I wanted to try everything LOL. I decided on the Mac black bean burger with a side of fries($20). I see why their Mac is award-winning. I forgot it was vegan for a second! So delicious and creamy. The black bean burger was seasoned VERY well and cooked perfectly. Most black bean burgers get messy and fall apart, this one didn't. Fries were great as well, perfect amount of salt. -Customer service was amazing. Cashier was laughing with me cause I was one of the 10000 people who couldn't find the entrance LOL. -Restaurant was clean and well stocked. I love this place and come here whenever I'm in town! You order using the kiosk they have inside and they'll call your name when it's ready. It's never too busy when I go, so the wait is never any longer than 15 minutes. I recommend the Mac n Cheese burger, the drummies, and the cauliflower bites. My favorite thing is ordering buffalo chicken drummies and adding them to the mac n cheese to make buffalo mac! They should add it as a menu item cause it's bomb. Food -- Bomb AF. And I'm not even Vegan. Mac and cheese was a little pricey, I think it was $6.50 -- BUT-- Pretty fucking bomb. I've had vegan mac elsewhere and the noodles were mushy. Def Not the case here. Firm and well sauced. Black bean burger with chipotle mayo also really solid. Starting falling apart at the end but I cleaned up all the scraps. Got bacon on the burger and while the texture doesn't hit the mark, the flavor was on point. Similar consistency to turkey bacon. My girlfriend got the chicken sub and I tried it, would recommend that, too. Very crunchy chicken tenders, good consistency. Large fries also around $6.50 but enough for 2 people to share. Nice spot, artwork inside is a work in progress but I liked the vibe overall and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was in Baltimore for a convention and decided to go here instead of the vegan restaurant located in Harbor Place. When I'm spending my money and go out of my way to get here to support a black owned business, I feel it's rude not to speak to me. Just wow! I eat a lot of vegan food. I thought I have had it all. And then I took a bite of this cheesesteak and my mind was blown! When you enter Refocused Vegan it has such a cool and contemporary look to it. Everything looks sleek and clean with accents of vibrant green. They have a full bar which is surprising to see at a vegan spot. To order food you select the items you want from a touchscreen pad. The menu has so many options including burgers, loaded Mac and cheese, sandwiches, salads, and smoothies. I went full on junk food and got the truffle Parmesan fries and cheesesteak. The bread of the cheesesteak was pillowy soft. I absolutely loved how easy it was to bite into it and it never got soggy. The cheesesteak protein was so well marinated! And there was a pink sauce on this sub that was heavenly. I wanted to drink that sauce I loved it so much. The sauce was more impressive to me than the well melted vegan cheese. This sub also had a good amount of peppers and onion. A complete meal in one sub. I have had many renditions of a cheesesteak, and the flavors on this was so unique I believe this is my favorite cheesesteak to date. It was hard to stop eating after I got full because I loved every bite I took. The French fries were such a winner! They were crispy and so well seasoned with Parmesan and truffle flavors. The portion size of the small side was huge!! I had a lot leftover that I got to enjoy reheated later. My friend ordered the Mac and cheese and I got to sample that. Their Mac and cheese is amazing! A lot of vegan Mac and cheeses have a chunky dry sauce. This Mac and cheese actually looked like Mac and cheese with a silky smooth cheese coating and great flavor. I'm not a vegan but I heard this place was good and I don't mind trying vegan food. I got the beyond burger it was decent, I wasn't a fan of the cheese. The fries were delicious, I tried the mac and cheese and for me I wasn't a fan of the "cheese" but I know it is hard to find a good vegan cheese but it was seasoned pretty good so it kind of made up for the cheese. The service was good, they were friendly. They have a lot of vegan options. read more

I really wish I had a photo for you! But I was having such a great time at the yoga brunch that I let myself be in the moment! Imagine that- oh my! I had drummies here for the first time and they were wonderful! Crisp on the outside and flavorful taste! The waffles were absolutely perfect. Tasted like whole grain at its finest. It is weird that you don't encounter employees when you order - but they are very nice when the bring you the food. I had passed by refocused vegan often and it looked good so wanted to try it out so my friend and i did. you order and pay through the ipad and then your order is called when ready. i got the loaded fries and my friend got the philly cheesesteak. the loaded fries were average - they were a nice portion size but needed more flavor and the toppings and the fries never connected. my friend said they're philly cheesesteak was very good decent vegan option in downtown baltimore but there are other options as well read more

Great spot! It is right in the heart of Baltimore so expect to pay for metered parking. I picked up my food and found a spot right outside for 5 mins. The food is amazing! I read some reviews talking about how the price is high and would have to disagree. I ordered the vegan chicken sandwich, small mac and cheese, and fries. The meal cost me about $29 with tip and honestly it was enough for two people, which means about $14.50 per person. That is a reasonable cost for a meal! The portions are large! I had to order the Mac and cheese after reading all the reviews. It was tasty but if you are expecting a Mac and cheese comparable to the classic dish with actual cheese you will be disappointed. I have been wanting to go here for quite a long time, and finally got a chance to go. While I think the prices are a little high (but then again, a lot of vegan restaurants are), it was soooooooooooo worth it! The thing that draws me in at any vegan restaurant is if I see buffalo wings (or drummies) on the menu, so I knew for sure that was what I was going to order. It costs $10 for 4 wings, or you can get 4 wings and fries for $12, so I decided that was the better deal and, boy, was I right. It came with way more fries than I was expecting. I also got the mac n cheese because that's another thing that's hard for me to pass up. But the wings and fries were so filling I was only able to manage a couple bites of the mac n cheese before saving it for another meal. The buffalo wings lived up to the hype I was giving it, I highly recommend it! Also, the mac n cheese is super flavorful! It's not just plain mac n cheese, they add some sort of seasoning to it. Green Initiative throughout this new & busy 100% Plant Based Vegan Cafe. Looks more like a lounge with the lighting fixtures & a green lacquered bar which will soon become the Fresh Juice/Smoothie station. It's a family affair taking orders & cooking in the open kitchen. Per usual, my gluttony arises when I'm in newbie mode & ended up ordering the Sample Patter (Mac/Cheese, Nuggets & Fried Shrimp) & a Cheesesteak Sandwich. In which the Owner had the Kitchen split in two & placed on Gluten Free Bread for me. My Nuggets were tossed in Buffalo Sauce which came out per my liking. I'm not keen on the Fried Shrimp versions, yet it was prepared & battered well. The accompanying "Tartar" Sauce had a sweet & tangy taste & used it on my Cheesesteak. Along for the journey was my Meat Eater BFF, in which I summoned him to sample each of the selections. He was content with all except the Fried Shrimp. What I chose to order was the Loaded Vegan Italian Sausage topped w/cheesesteak and drizzled with their in-house vegan Chipotle Mayo. The sandwich could've used more sauce, and they don't let you add extra sauce when ordering through Uber or DoorDash, so I'd suggest grabbing it in person. For a full vegan place, it definitely isn't bad. Would I go back?...probably not. The restaurant atmosphere is extremely weird and off putting. I think its from the extreme white everywhere and the openness. My favorite part pf the whole experience was ordering on the screen lol, I think more places should have the same set up! The food was pretty good. My sister told me the chicken sandwich was a close second to the best vegan chicken sandwich shes had so far...and she eats a lot of them. We tried the crab cake sandwich...it tasted yummy and like a crab cake but it was so thin...definitely not fully satisfying. I loved the sauce they used, i wanted more to eat with the fries which were extremely greasy in my opinion...we ended throwing most of them out and i love french fries. :( I was really hyped up for the Buffalo vegan wings. I only ate 2 of them and from those two, just the outer crispy skin part. That was the only part I could tolerate. The vegan wings were chewy inside. I was confused because it's been at least a decade since I had real chicken, but I do recall it not necessarily being chewy. I did order this meal through UBER EATS so perhaps this meal should be eaten as soon as it is done being prepared. It was the texture for me, it was mysterious and not pleasing. The fries were normal French fries. I won't give up on this place. I'll just try something else next time. I'm not willing to ever try to the vegan wings again though. Once there I realized I have driven past at least once a day for 3 years and had no idea. Very incognito BUT the food and drinks should be shouted from the rooftops! So good! I don't have much experience with plant based food. The 2 gentlemen working were very helpful explaining the menu. Who knew cheese steak and wings could be vegan, not I! I kept my order safe, Mac and Cheese with Parmesan Truffle Fries. My gf ordered Mac and Cheese as well as a Smoked Sausage. Both absolutely love our mac and cheese. She wished she ordered a second smoked sausage, it was that good. The fries were also very yummy! Drinks, alcoholic and smoothies are also available. My Blue Hawaiian was knock your socks off strong! BEFORE COVID: The entrance is inside the building with the numbers 429 on top. It's a really nice place, all white, loads of light and nice little chairs. It's super clean and has cute little bamboo plants surrounding the restaurant. I came here on a date with my partner, it was super quiet but if I could give more than 5 stars I would. We ordered the vegan shrimp wrap, garlic cut fries, and vegan buffalo wings. OMG 5/5! This has got to be one of the best vegan dishes in the entire area. Other places are glorified for no reason, this place needs to get on the map! The shrimp tasted like shrimp but not quite like it. The buffalo wings were heaven on earth. The food was awful, the drinks were awful, the service was extinct, and the ambiance was like a hippy pad in late 60's Greenwich Village. A perfect package. Great spot for a quick bite. Everything on the menu is vegan so if you are vegan you can eat here safely. It has wraps Burgers sandwiches salads and even vegan mac and cheese! I stopped in my last day of a conference in Baltimore - this place is the real deal! The owner even spent a bit of time chatting with me. He is an awesome guy!!! I generally stay away from vegan soul food because it's so heavy and oily. But I have to say, that was absolutely not my experience here. It's soul food, but only in spices and style. It was exceptionally flavorful and delicious. Especially the Mac and cheese was AMAZING. And their fries with the were terribly addictive. The only thing was that it took a very long time -- which is maybe due to it being a Sunday afternoon and maybe they were short staffed. But it was well worth the wait. Walked in and ordered from the touch screen. There is an area to sit down and eat as well as a bar area. The staff was friendly when we asked questions and had welcoming personalities. The line said it all. Good food. Pricey but with everyone jumping on the "vegan" board and not being actually vegan, it is to be expected.

SO HAPPY that I finally tried this place. I was a little hesitant due to the prices but decided to go for it and I have zero regrets. They earned themselves a repeat customer! The shrimp wrap is unbelievable. It tastes exactly like the real thing (how do they do it?!) and it's fried to perfection. It's not overly breaded, super crispy, and the texture is spot-on. The wrap is also a good size for lunch. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and vegan mayo. The mac & cheese is also a must-have! It's creamy, gooey, and comforting. It's flavored with a lot of herbs so it's not your standard traditional mac, but I think it's even better. It does kind of stick to your mouth though, which is normal in my vegan mac experiences. I could also see how some people could think it's salty but it was perfect to me. Overall their service was fast; took about 30 min delivery on Postmates for lunch. Wow wow wow wow!!!! My son and I went to Refocused Vegan and were amazed by the food. The Truffle fries were a slice of Heaven. I had the Impossible Burger with cheese, mushrooms, peppers and onions. He had a wrap. Both were amazing!!! Just amazing. The burger was large and hearty. It felt like you were eating a hug! It was extremely delicious. The only down side was that there were no desserts available when we went. But the lack of dessert wasn't a deal breaker. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal!!! We've been trying to eat more vegan/vegetarian lately, but there are limited options when it comes to eating out, so I was excited to stumble upon this new restaurant in the Baltimore downtown area. We came here on a Friday night around 7pm. The space is open and bright with lots of windows, and seems to be family-run, which I liked. It still has an "unfinished" look to it, like they're still decorating and getting set up, but this can definitely be a cool and modern restaurant with more time! It also looks like they're setting up a bar or something too, which would be a great addition. You order and pay up by the kitchen and the food is brought out to you take-out style when it's ready. The menu was surprisingly extensive with its options, but we kept it simple and ordered the impossible burger, the fried chicken sandwich and truffle fries. I ordered the chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce but they forgot to add it. The truffle fries are addicting, hot and crispy, and a good portion size for sharing. The impossible burger was also very good, although we've had it before at other places and the piece of lettuce we got was well past its prime. I was very impressed with the fried chicken sandwich though! Great texture and crunch, just like real chicken! I would definitely order this again. The sandwiches were pretty substantial --we left satisfied!! They're a bit overpriced too, although not far off from what you'd pay at other bars and restaurants, and this time you're supporting a vegan family run establishment. Some things to note: Napkins weren't readily available, would be great to have them around the restaurant instead of at the counter. Would be great to shift to reusable plates and cutlery for those dining in. Less waste. They have limited drink options right now, just iced tea, Snapple, and water. Hopefully they expand their drink menu in the near future. Street parking is readily available in the neighborhood. The turnout was pretty good on a Friday night for a brand new restaurant like this.
