I have driven Pat this place many times but never stopped in. This place was really great. The service was amazing. The food was very flavorful. The place is comfortable. I would definitely be going back.

I popped over to have a bite to eat after plant shopping and they have a beautiful outside setup. They also have two tables inside for seating but on a beautiful day why not take advantage. You enter from the side entrance and place your order. They have the menu to view right at the door before going up to the counter, and they have hand sanitizer too. They have a really good selection of food and drink options including cupcakes and other desserts. I ordered the chicken tacos, the papas and the carrot cake and coconut cupcake. It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out which was enough time for me to sit outside in the sun. The food came with plastic utensils and napkins so I ate the tacos outside. They were so yummy and had a delicious curry flavor and were stuffed to the brim with filling. The papas were also delicious. I had those and the cupcakes back at home and they provided two sauces with them. They were very similar to sambusas and just as delicious. The cupcakes each had different types of frosting and the carrot cake was moist and flavorful. The coconut cake was a bit dry but the frosting was a cream cheese frosting and really delicious. I'm definitely looking forward to going back and trying other items. If you're in the Remington neighborhood I highly recommend you grab lunch or dinner here.

Sweet 27 is definitely the type of place you grab some comforting food and sit for some drinks. We came here for the first time and the service was fast and friendly. We got the batata vada, general tso's tofu, and garlic tomato tofu. The batata vada was so good, definitely a must try. Drink options were great and the Happy Hour pricing you can't beat. We will be back!

I tried this place for the first time a few days ago, and I'm so glad that I did! Initially, I went for the cupcakes, but after seeing the menu, I decided to order food too. Again, I'm so glad I did! I ordered 3 sides: basmati rice, chana masala, and black beans with plantains. It was all so delicious! Also, I bought the chocolate cheesecake cupcake, which was good. My favorite so far is the coconut buttercream cupcake! Since my first visit, I went back a second time for deserts. This place will definitely be in my rotation. One important note: Be sure they are using sanitizer in between handling your food and completing the transaction using cash or card. I asked and the gentleman did so without a fuss.

So happy to have this spot recommended to me. Everything is gluten free!! I love their chicken tacos and fish tacos the most. Recently had their red velvet cupcakes and they are sooo good. The icing taste like cheesecake in my opinion. Took some to my friends and they loved them as well and they're usually skeptical about gluten free desserts. I've only ordered to go so i am unavailable to speak on dining in service. However i will definitely return to dine in soon.

We are big fans of Sweet Sin's and are very supportive of the owners' latest venture. We want to love love love it. PROS: Nice large dining area. Smart casual vibe. Engaged and attentive service. Some good dishes: the grilled veggie plate, the grilled salmon fish of the day, the cran-orange lemonade (no free refills-$4 a pop), and the sweet potato chips that came with the salmon tartare. CONS: I likely ordered the wrong thing. Still, the kitchen needs to take some responsibility - the peppercorn beef was uninspired beyond the delicious mushrooms (too far from the chef's Indian and Mexican strengths as well as a not using a superb piece of beef to start with and uninspired mashed potatoes), the chicken satay (unlike next door, here the chicken was a bit dry), and the salmon tartare (not bad tasting but can-shaped presentation hurt as did the lack of wow in the taste - needs more citrus?). Comparisons with Sweet Sin are inevitable. Unfortunately the menu here isn't quite as solid even though a lot of the chef's talent does shine through on some things. Nice to see all the effort put in to the dining room's appearance. However, at the end of the day when the (significantly sized) check arrives, you may be left with a pang of regret that you hadn't gone next door to eat instead. As far as value and overall taste, the original hole in the wall Sweet Sin beats its younger and more polished sibling. Hands down.

Delicious! This is a homey little Baltimore classic tavern style bar and restaurant with a twist - a BIG flavor twist! The restaurant serves up great bar food (fries, burgers, tacos, etc.) but all with a fusion flavor twist. These twists heavily emphasize Indian flavors, but there is a little bit of something for all. For instance, the fries are chickpea flour battered and served with chutney style sauces - AMAZING. The lamb vindaloo has some great spice and layering of flavors. The duck tacos are phenomenally succulent and well balanced. Plus, the Chana masala is some of the best I've had. The restaurant is highly friendly to various diets, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free etc. However, those who don't follow any special diets won't really notice - because the food is so great!

We were going to a show at The Otto Bar and wanted to enjoy a dinner and drinks beforehand. This restaurant has a full bar and delicious food. There is definitely something for everyone here. We made an OpenTable reservation but for our night it wasn't required, as it was not that crowded when we arrived (around 7pm on a Friday night). I liked the decor and design of this place as soon as I walked in. Our server was nice enough and we ordered some drinks. I had some kind of ginger cocktail and it was excellent. However, it was over a lot of ice so after 4 sips it was gone. Onto dinner- I had a Manchurian cauliflower dish. It was good, but it was over-sauced. The sauce was great, but there was just too much of it. Also, it would have been nice to have more cauliflower and less bell pepper. The fried cauliflower was delicious, but the dish was mostly bell pepper drowning in sauce. The husband had a chicken vindaloo and loved it. He didn't have any complaints. Overall, we were very happy we found this local restaurant with delicious food and drink before heading to the Otto Bar. Solid 3 stars.

Jerk chicken, mango chicken, lamb Vindaloo With collards rice and cabbage
    Jenn B.

Absolutely delicious food with great prices. For Appetizers we had the fries coated in chickpea flour, mango wings and vegetable fritters. For Entrées we tried the jerk chicken, lamb vindaloo, and mango chicken. Also had the mashed potatoes collards cabbage and chickpeas among other items. Everything was absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back. Staff was friendly and accommodating to us eating there even though mostly takeout. Took a ton of food home. Amazing!

Who would've thought this random bar that serves Indian food in Baltimore would still be on my mind weeks later? No one, but it is! I went here with a friend of mine who raves about this place and being a fan of Indian food, I decided to join him. I ordered the Goat Curry because I love spicy food, be careful because this is a different level of spice. From the tender, fatty goat to the basmati rice, I truly enjoyed this meal! It's a small neighborhood bar with restaurant seating also. Would definitely recommend stopping by and checking out some of their dishes. I've only been once so far, but I know I will be back.

This place is a great find. The ambiance is amazing and so is the service. Since I'm Vegan, my options are a bit limited. However, they have this great option, Vegetarian Sides in which you can pick anywhere in the range of one up to five sides. I always choose fives sides since I'm always hungry. This time I chose basmati rice, plantains & black beans (w/o the yogurt sauce), collars green & carrots, garlic kale, spiced sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious and perfect! No complaints at all and the portions was more than enough! I will continue to come back here and again and I highly recommend it! FYI, They have a separate bar if you just want to have some drinks.

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. Maybe it was NYE but everything was quiet and nice.

The space is gorgeous - super high ceilings, giant chandelier, velvet couches - a very old school elegant vibe. The beer and wine selection were small, but very good. It was a short and lovely walk from my hotel, and I was dining alone and initially I wasn't sure how I felt about having a solo dining experience at an upscale restaurant. My concerns were immediately dispelled as soon as I opened the restaurant door. Two men greeted me and were incredibly gracious and welcoming. They quickly found my reservation and asked me if it was my first time at the restaurant and what brought me to town. Since it was pretty early for dinner (6pm on a Monday) they gave me options for where I wanted to sit, confirming that the lounge seating I reserved was best for me because it placed me near the large bay windows that faced the harbor and the setting sun. My waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He not only knew the menu, but he had tasted several items and gave me direct feedback on items. I decided on the three-course menu with wine pairing. For starters, I had the fried oysters. The fry was light and crisp, and oysters were flavorful, still holding the freshness of the ocean. The olive bread serving was a nice touch. The second course was white truffle fettuccine with mushrooms. The mushrooms were tender, absorbing the flavor of the seasoning. The fettuccine was fresh, light and richness of the white truffle was a perfect compliment, but not overpowering. The third course was crispy wild halibut with a zucchini beignet. Again, they do a beautiful job with frying fish. The fish with lightly fried enough to get a nice crispy, but with no oily after taste. The zucchini beignet was crisp and fresh. The tartar sauce for the halibut gave the elevated dish a hearty, fun, comfort food finish. The wine pairings were perfection. From the Cremant d'Alsace Brut bubbly, which offered a refreshing and bright flavor to go with the light oysters, and even the Chardonnay, Dehlinger, which offered a citrus accent that was a nice balance with the warm, rich embrace of the fettuccine dish, Charleston sommelier experts make every effort to ensure that pairing enrich the dining experience. For those looking for an elevated dining experience in Baltimore by the Harbor, where you really feel taken cared of, I'll suggest visiting Charleston. Every staff member I engaged with, even as a solo diner, made me feel like I was a treasured guest.

The major hiccup we experienced was my gluten free lamb shank pasta being sent to the vegetarian sitting at the table next to us. Watching this unfold and the server's exasperated reaction was very awkward. That being said, the manager (or maitre d?)'s graceful handling of the situation thereafter was great. He told us what happened, played it off well, explained that it would be a bit of a wait for our next course as a result, and ended up comping all our wine. Really classy touch. However, even after the long wait for the pasta, it was ultimately under-salted under-seasoned and not impressive at all. As much as I appreciate the gluten free option, I wish I had just gotten something else especially after all that trouble! The rest of the service throughout the night was also oddly paced. We ordered less courses than last year (only three) but we were there for almost four hours. Tables around us who arrived after us were served their first courses before we even had a chance to order. We were asked to pick out a wine first before choosing our food and since we weren't sure what we were eating, we weren't ready to select a wine. Even just getting the food menu took a bit of waiting around. Our server didn't inquire about any food allergies either so it was tough making decisions when I wasn't sure what was gluten free - and this was an allergy that was noted in our reservation, too. At another point, I asked for a glass of red wine three different times until finally the maitre d grabbed it for me after the pasta debacle happened. As for the rest of my meal, the scallops and lobster soup were both yummy but not anything life changing. However, my boyfriend's lamb chop dish was very very delicious. The one bite I had, paired with the pomegranates, was heaven. By the way, they offer gluten free bread service too. Has the Charleston lost their touch after the recent James Beard press? I'm not sure but I do hope they step things back up again. You come to expect a little more from an institution like this, especially after being totally blown away last year.

Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy.
