After contacting him on Yelp, I gave him my phone number for a phone consultation. He called the…read morefirst time at 10pm on a Thursday night without any heads up. I wasn't sure who it was because it was so late and the caller ID said "Pro TV Mounting Same Day..." I figured it was him because then he sent me a message on Yelp that night saying "I tried calling and no one answered". I messaged him to schedule a call at a time that was more reasonable. No answer. Then the same number called during a Sunday afternoon. I asked again to please just schedule the call. When I called at the scheduled time, he sounded almost half asleep on the phone (sorry I woke you up!) and I tried explaining clearly what was wrong with the issue and he said repeatedly, "why don't you just call the people who originally installed it". I mentioned I was unhappy with their work and wanted someone else. He clearly was unfamiliar with what was going on and didn't know basic terminology for installation of doors. Never asked for a guarantee, but I just wanted someone who had a more experienced and expert installation history. He then got upset when I indicated I wouldn't be using his services because he sounded like he didn't know what was going on for the project and I preferred not to pay $80 since all other handymen come to do an assessment for free so they can accurately set expectations for themselves and the customer and there isn't disappointment on either side. He literally started raising his voice on the phone because I was trying to ask his professional opinion and gather more info on what he thought was going on. Maybe he was having an off day because he seemed to get frustrated with what I thought were common questions. It seemed like he just wanted to get me off the phone and do the $80 in-person assessment. So the "phone consultation" part doesn't seem like a real thing. Again, I told him "no problem that's your policy and I appreciate your time" but I will go in a different direction Unprofessional and also seemed to have limited skills for certain simple jobs and really is focused on TV mounting or other things (I mean the phone number ID says Pro TV install"). Again, that's totally ok, but don't get upset when a customer would prefer a different option. And be careful! He then tried repeatedly harass and called me several times after now from a hidden number! He had to be reported to Yelp! It seems like this guy generally has good reviews, but this seemed very unusual and concerning. Just take a look at all the other 1-star reviews. They all talk about the SAME exact issues: calling at inappropriate times, rude/unprofessional, harassing calls, incorrect skills listed, (even being asleep, ha!), etc. There is a clear negative pattern here, but other people seemed to find benefit so up to you based your exact situation.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

Chago was hired by my landlord to repair a leaking roof on a shed that extended off the back of our garage. The roof is about 20ft wide by 10ft long. Currently it is covered with corrugated steel over an older shingle roof. When he called to schedule the appointment I asked if we could make the appt. for first thing in the morning. He said sure, he could do 9am. Upon asking if he could come any earlier like 8:00 or 8:30 am he explained to me that he doesn't start until 9am because he needs enough time in the morning to have his coffee and then use the bathroom before he arrives to a clients house. Literally explained to me his morning bowel movement patterns and why he couldn't accommodate an earlier time. Struck me as odd as most professionals wouldn't tell you that the needed to have coffee and a sit on the toilet before arriving. Nonetheless I looked forward to the Upon arrival to repair a leaking roof, he had no ladder. He asked to use my ladder. Of course I obliged, but again was scratching my head. How does someone come to fix a roof yet not bring a ladder. He explained to me that he was going to put sealant tar on all of the nail holes on the roof as per the instructions of the landlord. I proceeded to get him situated with our ladder and explained I'd be leaving for the office. He would be left to complete the work on his own. I asked that he call me when he was finished to let me know how everything went. He called later that day and explained to me that he had removed a bunch of leaves and sticks that were on the roof. I then expected him to tell me about the sealant work on the holes. Yet he didn't do that work. He only removed leaves from the roof. I explained that I didn't understand. His fix for the leaking roof ( roof literally has holes where water is getting through the seams of the corrugated steel) was to take the leaves off of the roof. It was at this point that I realized what I was dealing with. So I contacted the landlord to inform him. The landlord was just as confused as I was. So he contacted him to come back out and actually repair the roof. This time he was instructed to apply a layer of sealant/ coating to the roof to ensure there were no leaks. I run two digital business and have offices full of employees, it's a bit of an inconvenience to rearrange my schedule to accommodate him in the first place but his visit would benefit both of us and I did need the roof repaired so I made the arrangements. I sent called him on Monday evening to get a scheduling time. He didn't answer. I then sent him a text at 8:30 pm, he didn't respond that evening nor did he respond the next day. I called on Tuesday morning, he didn't answer. I left a message saying I wanted to confirm a time for Wednesday so I could make sure I was available. He didn't call me back until late Tuesday afternoon of which the phone rang and I answered saying hello, and he hung up and didn't say anything. So I call him right back and he says oh I'm sorry, I can come tomorrow. I brush it under the rug and anticipate his return the next day. Upon arrival, you could tell something was off, his demeanor seemed as though he was uncomfortable. He greeted me with a handshake and we started chatting. He was frustrated with every sentence. I said look, I don't understand what the problem is here, but as I see it, I have a leaking roof, you're the handyman, I don't care what you have to do, just fix the leaking roof. I don't understand why the job was the same last week and all you did is rake leaves off the roof. I left my office in the middle of the day to come home and meet you, I just want the job done and done right. At this point he started putting his gear back in his car. He said he didn't want to do the repairs because what if the roof leaked again after he did the work. I explained that it shouldn't leak if he patches the wholes like he's suppose to. He then proceeded to talk over me, got in his car and rolled up all the windows so that we couldn't have a conversation. Because my truck was blocking the driveway and he was parked in the driveway, I told him he would have to wait for me to Move the truck as I had another contractor show up to repair the heater for the house at the same time. While I went to get the heating repair man situated , Chago sat in my driveway in his car for about 5-10min. When I came back to the front of the house he wouldn't talk to me , he just sat in his car. When I asked Him to roll down the window, the car smelled like weed and his eyes were all glassed over. I strongly urge someone to find a better resource that this guy. read more

I highly recommend Chago as a problem solver and great work ethic. I needed his help for some simple tasks such as hanging dozens of pictures and he did that with precision. BUT I had a very challenging problem of fixing a mirrored table which was damaged by a flood and furniture restorers would not touch it due to the mirror and mirror companies refused to help me due to the damaged wood. I asked Chago and his collaborator Charlie if they thought they could fix it and lo and behold they said they would try. Chago's solution to the damaged wood was ingenious and they patiently spent 3 hours to do the repair on site rather than having to take the heavy and delicate mirror table away to repair it. They did a great job and the cost was less than we discussed. I HEARTILY recommend Chago because of his honesty his tenacity and his professionalism. Call him. You won't be sorry. read more

I found Chago on line through the Yelp reviews. The reviews were absolutely right, he is great. I had my stove go out for no reason. Chago came and diligently and thoroughly went through all the outlets, fuse box, etc and found that a prior contractor had installed a 15 amp GFI outlet instead of the necessary 20 amp. In addition he discovered that the contractor put the stove, microwave and two outlets on the same circuit which likely led to the outlet blowing out. Also he discovered that the GFI outlet should have been next to the sink. He within an hour figured out and fixed the problem. I was very impressed with his knowledge. I am going to have him come back to do various other odd jobs around my townhouse that I put off for years and can't wait to have him complete them. And his hourly rate is great.
