Luck would have it that the Scheller's in Louisville had one of the few remaining models of the TREK FX 3 bikes (next one was over 300 miles away) and I was able to upgrade from the FX 2. The price for this tire replacement and repair is tad pricey but I didn't care because I want to get it fix before my first Ironman 70.3 Wisconsin. I really haven't had better customer service in a bike shop like this before. I bought my last bike here and it was a steal. Clearance price and it was exactly what I wanted. It had never been ridden because the tire popped before we completed the assembly. They took the bike and claimed to have repaired the inner tube for $10 and assembled/reassembled the bike for another $100!!?? After taxes I owed a total of $116.80. I brought it home 3 days later and my son started to ride the bike and 15 minutes into the ride the back tire burst again. I called the shop and they said they would have to charge me (again) for any additional repairs needing to be made. They said it could be a number of things and I asked how that would be possible if they had checked it as thoroughly as they claimed to the first time. I'm out $116 plus whatever the cost of any additional repair fees they want to charge me. They did not offer a refund or a guarantee of their work. I am extremely disappointed and my son is very sad that he still can't ride the gift of the first adult bike that his grandparents got him.
