He was really knowledgeable, very accommodating and reasonable in price especially compared to the regular marine shops & their outrageous prices. My husband had to put it back together himself finally so he can just sell it. Who has to do that??? I see other people have had the same experience. This guy does it because he can get away with it. The owner is EXTREMeLY rude, disrespectful, and absolutely NO customer service. A bit of the back story... I purchased a Coltex inverter which was highly recommended by Ramses (owner) for our application. We had it installed and it ended up being defected. We reached out to the business and requested a replacement. Owner Ramses refused to exchange it unless one of "his" technicians looked at the inverter. We agreed. None of his technicians were ever available and kept putting us off after multiple attempt. I went ahead and have another professional technician look at the inverter (paid out of my pocket) and he too guaranteed it was a defective inverter. reached out again to owner and he demanded to speak with our technician. He did, and approved my technicians background. While speaking with my technician he proceeded to speak badly about me saying he "didn't want to deal with me anymore" and so on. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. We finally decided to take it back into the store after a month of back and forth. Owner tested the inverter, saw that it was defective. Then proceeded to call his manufacture contact which told him to simply replace the inverter. He told him it was obviously a defective inverter. Owner Ramses then replaced it with a dusty one off the shelf! NOT AN ACTUAL NEW ONE! He said if I wanted a new one I would have to pay for shipping. INSANE! All this interaction happened with him cussing, yelling, and being completely disrespectful. He is obviously has issues. I have never experienced anything like this before. BEWARE!!! I plan on reporting this place with the Better Business Bureau as well. Unless you are buying many inverters from him then maybe you have a chance to get treated better. Otherwise, your best bet is to go somewhere else.

They ran a "diagnostic " and all of a sudden, "the cylinder 5 is low compression ".. boat ran perfect with the exception of a broken spark plug and a clogged carb. Got the boat home and checked all cylinders and they were all within the same compression. Engine rebuilt 5 years ago and mainly sat. 3 years before they did a full checkup (old owners) and compression was good and even amongst all cylinders. They even said the engine would have to come out to do a head job. Friend asked for a good oem starter on his boat and paid for it, they sneak in the junk one. Too bad the old owners are gone. They used to be good. Now it's just scams!

More importantly I recieved a call back within 45 minutes from Leslie, Cabrillo Operations Manager, to review the work to be done, and pricing. This family owned and operated yard focuses on the customer and do their best to ensure a good haul out and repair experience. An unnamed shipyard in Alamitos Bay did not even call me back after leaving a message of what I was looking for in a haul out. My boat a 42 foot Grand Banks needed the bottom painted and a few minor repairs. Cabrillo allowd me to repaint my boot line as a DIY. Awesome. I cannot recommend anyone better. Wally McCloud
