It was quite nice coming in the other day as this was my childhood store. I always came to this store as a kid and the owner still recognizes me to this day. I remember always coming in and buying Yu-Gi-Oh! cards or action figures and it was always a great experience. This is by far the best store at Westminster mall. If you love anime, marvel, or are just interested in finding some cool stuff, head to Small Wonders. The name really describes the store as it is a small wonder. I recently bought a darth vader pop! Figure as well as a small legend of zelda master sword that I always eyed whenever I came in.

Not even two minutes of being in the store, I was looking at an iron patch of a character and out of nowhere, I could hear the store owner (literally) scream at me, "Please don't touch that, I will get it for you!!!" When she came over to me, I was no longer interested in the item. I was not in there for more than another minute and a half because I could see her watching me from the register counter following me with her eyes, in any direction I walked to. I don't appreciate being watched like I'm some sort of criminal when I was simply looking at an item that I had an interest in possibly buying; I just needed a closer look at the details before deciding. I'd give this place only 1/2 star if I could. Perhaps the owner should consider placing sticky notes all over the store asking their customers to not touch anything. The owner needs to work on her customer service skills because that's how you SCARE customers away. Beware...if you don't mind a pair of eyes watching your every move. I would not step foot in place again!

There have been negative reviews with an employee of the store but that is understandable because the merchandise that they sell are imported and rare goods. So, please be aware, to ask for assistance when looking at collectible figures on the shelf on the right-hand side of the store and to not bring any food or drinks. My experience whenever I visit the store is like any comic book or collectible stores. It usually has merchandise that is rare and valuable but most of them are imported from Asia so be aware that the prices may be a little bit high due to the shipping rates. However, there are some collectible figures that are a lot cheaper than what is being sold online. This is because the store did not change their original prices when they first received the merchandise. An example is SH figuarts Broly which I paid for $90 but was being sold for $120~ online. The employee can be nice if you show them courtesy. The lady who rang me up gave me a pack of chew-hi candy which I absolutely love. Overall, be sure to be considerate to their merchandise in-store and do not take it to heart if they inform you of their strict policy of assistance or food and drinks. What they have in-store can be what a rare find locally.

This is some of my collection and most of the fate figures were from the store. Amazing.

My friend and I are big collectors of all things anime and have not been able to find many stores like this in the OC. This is a store for a true collector because not everything will be affordable, but everything is around a safe range. Nina and her crew are very helpful and will help you find whatever you need, if they have it of course. Lately, I've been purchasing a lot of her awesome scaled figures, and so far I am happy with my purchases. #noregrets

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to learn tufting for the first time!! For those new to tufting,…read moretufting is essentially a texture manufacturing process where you insert yarn into a base fabric to create rugs. The lesson first starts off with choosing a simple base design. Our instructor specifically recommended a design with simple lines and colors to make it easier for our first ever rug, which was around $70. Using a projector, you will trace your image onto the fabric as a template for the rest for your work. Before starting with tufting, we then moved onto a mini tutorial on the ins and outs of using a tufting gun, from yarn insertion to how to create straight versus curved lines. Keep in mind you have to put a lot of pressure on the canvas to ensure that your yarn is being threaded correctly. Going through several practice sessions definitely made the transition to the entire tufting process easier. Starting our rug, we soon recognized how difficult and time consuming the rug tufting process was. Even simple design like ours (a cartoon dog) was a long lengthy process than anticipated and we ended up spending 3-4 hours for completion for one of the smaller size rugs. We were recommended to start from the inside out and using one color at a time, inserting lines of yearn about a fingers width to ensure completion of our rug. Though we initially struggled with creating finer lines, we eventually got the hang of it and were able to successfully complete our rug. Our instructor transitioned us into the final process, teaching us how to trim our rug and prepare it to take home. Personally based on the instructor teaching and supplies available, this class was well worth its price point. Overall, I would say tufting is an impressive skill that I learned for the first time and hope to come again to create more designs!

It's been a year since no one has done a review on this store so I'll give an update on it for…read moreanyone interested :) especially who are looking for Pokémon packs to rip (hope this review didn't get too popular or else scalpers will come ) To be honest, I have came here the first time during Tết for the food court and then I got full so me and my cousins decided to walk around the Asian Garden Mall, not a lot of stores really caught my attention until I went to Oppa's and found that they got Korean Pokémon packs. I was skeptical and Korean sets weren't that popular at the time so I only strolled around the store for a bit, looking smiskis and Vocaloid chibi figures and then went home, ended the trip I decided to go back to Oppa's the second time for the cards of course after getting stuffed with more food from the night market. Me and my boyfriend went to Oppa's yesterday around 8:45pm, the place filled pretty much plushies and Kpop items, Pokémon cards are opposite to the cashier. We decided to get a pack of Destined Rivals/Glory of Team Rocket for only $2.99 + tax (around $3 something) which is ok since you know the shipping costs as well as they do need some profits on selling stuff as a retail store too. We did a rip test and confirmed that they're real cards btw (purple/blue hue inside, you can find more information from this video https://youtu.be/13UoFipIF4c?si=wEwvg8D0-YPcwo6T) After that we went for 2 more packs before ending our trip, another Destined Rivals/Glory of Team Rocket and Heat Wave/Hot Air Arena, didn't get any big hits but it was fun after all :) The cashiers were a Korean couple (I think?) and they were very nice to us! I found it funny when the second time we went to get our 2 last packs and the lady looked a bit concerned (and she asked if we were here for packs again, funny ngl because we both financially irresponsible lol) Update on the sets they were having on are: Vstar Universe Scarlet and Violet ex Clay Burst Snow Hazard 151 Raging Surf Ancient Roar Future Slash Shiny Treasure Stella Miracle Paradise Dragona Battle Partners Heat Wave Glory of Team Rocket Vstar Universe w/10 cards for $10.99, 151 w/7 cards for $5.99 and the rest are $2.99 not including taxes yet. Remember to bring cash with you because they have to charge 50 cents more if you're paying with debit/credit card (transactions fee) Overall, great experience! Definitely would go back for more if I have time. Hopefully they sell sealed booster boxes too :)

I hope they're able to get the help that they need to help support their community, but I still stand by the frustration experienced when attempting to reach out multiple times.* I've spent a good amount of time calling this store trying to get ahold of a worker for clarification on a tournament they are holding. The phone doesn't even fully ring before you get sent to voicemail so I want to assume they're declining the call, but hopefully I'm wrong. Called since their opening and between the hours and still no luck talking to someone. They don't respond to their socials either. Unfortunately I cant comment on anything else from this shop as this was enough to deter me and my friends from wanting to visit, but it's great to hear from their community about their situation which clearly means their locals are happy playing there.
