Outback Deli - dining room, not a lot of ambiance but a great spot to meet the locals

You gotta love the Outback Deli! Great food, terrific service... you certainly won't leave here…read morehungry, that's for sure! The deli features superb sandwiches, delicious burgers, tasty taco salads, burritos, and plenty more choices. Look over their comprehensive menu, you're sure to find some new favorites. Each order is specifically hand crafted by an artisan, then brought to your table with a smile. The prices are more than reasonable and food portions are large and quite satisfying. The Outback Deli is located inside the Esmeralda Market, on Hwy 264 in lovely downtown Dyer, NV. You'll find an adjacent small dining area with several tables in a nice, clean, air conditioned environment. Did I mention they also have a large screen TV for your entertainment pleasure? Well they do! If you're passing through the Fish Lake Valley taking the Hwy 264 shortcut between Hwy 95 and Benton, CA to access Hwy 120 into Yosemite, or Hwy 6 over to Bishop, CA and then Hwy 395, check the hours for Outback Deli and make sure to stop in. Don't forget the Esmeralda Market has an RV Park along with cabins for rent right outside. The Esmeralda Market also features gas and diesel pumps, so don't forget to fuel up before leaving town! No one wants to run out of gas along Hwy 6 around the Montgomery Pass area. I recently moved to Dyer to help look after my aging dad. No question about it, I'm definitely going to become a regular at the Outback Deli and Esmeralda Market! And let's not forget all the friendly locals you get to meet here as well.

The cashier who helped me was very friendly and nice, he got me the fries&drink combo even though I didn't know about it and ordered them separately. I chose to sit in the patio which was pleasant and peaceful with the weather and the view of the mountains. The food came out very quickly -- the sandwiches fresh & fries straight from the fryer. The sandwiches were perfect portion and the Dutch crunch had that perfect crunch but softness at the same time. The homestyle lemonade was just the cherry on top, refreshing and not overly sweet. I would definitely come to this place again!

I don't often get included in the order at sandwich' shops, so I just said, "Anything gluten free, if they have it," Unbeknownst to me, a very fresh and big lettuce wrapped "Turkey Avocado Sprouts Swiss" with "The Works" (condiments). I was blown away, it was delicious. I waited to review until I went a few more than a few times, just incase that wrap was a fluke. Nope! I haven't gotten sick there yet and I appreciate that a lot. Itzel makes the best wraps, I believe I can tell the difference if she's making them. Perfectly stuffed, tightly wrapped (because if not they are super hard to eat), and cut in half. Thanks girl! Thank you for always being on time for my pick up order (which is super easy to place by the way) and thank you for the great food. It's obvious you're a hard worker and care about your job. That's rare these days. I've never been to any other Deli Delicious besides this one, but I can't see how they would top this one. Thanks again! I might do a wrap photo shoot and add some pictures a little later.

You can catch the Yosemite Valley free shuttle service to take you to many of the scenic locations if you don't feel like doing the long hike to each location. From Yosemite Village, we walked to point #1 on the map: Lower Yosemite Fall and the Cook's Meadow Loop, the waterfalls you see in my pictures. This location is kid and stroller friendly. The walk takes about 30 minutes. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Cashier was friendly and I was very lucky to find a place to sit and eat. As I was seated at a long table, the people next to me had delicious smelling soup--and mentioned that the soup was in a separate line, so I had hubby go get some vegetarian lentil soup, which was yummy!! It is not so enjoyable eating soup with a flat wooden spoon, however.... Food itself overall was a 5, but vary the menu just a bit ...
