It was time to re-roof because of several links. We got quotes from at least seven roofers and Smart Roofing was included. Isaac provided a quote for re-roofing my home and detached garage (and they also installed rain gutters). He inspected my roof and provided me with a mid-range quote. As stated by other Yelpers, Issac broke everything down and how many days it would take to complete the job. He was very accommodating. Issac's crew arrived on time, conducted their work professionally and completed the entire job in three days. We also were happy with the roofing materials they were using (energy efficient). Issac's team also cleaned up after each day which we appreciated. One note, the workers accidentally took one of our push brooms, and when we informed Issac, he promptly returned a new one. We didn't expect that but he was a man of his word. Overall, we are very pleased with the workmanship of Issac's crew. I have no complaints with smart roofing, who performed a total roof replacement for us. Issac was very helpful throughout the process, took time to explain everything to me at the initial visit and was communicative throughout, always available via text or email for questions. The price was very competitive and stuck to the schedule provided. They contract with a solar sub so they were able to give us a price for the solar removal and reinstallation and make sure the solar sub was available for our timeline, whereas most other companies we received quotes from wanted us to find the solar sub ourselves and have them come out, give us a bid, etc. and they of course would have a totally separate schedule we would need to try to coordinate. I'll update this review if we have any issues come rainy season, but I'm happy with our roof and shoutout to Issac specifically. They also coordinated the Owens Corning platinum warranty for us. read more

We replaced our roof in March 2022. Our project manager Isaac was very thorough in reviewing my concerns and provided enough information, including Transparency in terms of cost. The estimate, minus additional service for a skylight replacement and city permit fee was what we ultimately paid, nothing else tacked on. As they are a licensed C39 contractor, they are focused on roofing only. Proposed fee was significantly lower because evidently the only thing they do is roofing, and are not general contractors. Streamlined and communicative. Their work looks good and after a recent rain I have a lot of confidence in my roof. I hired Smart Roofing to do a complete reroof on my house. They removed, two layers of old shingles and parts of my old shake roof. After the demolition, they laid down brand new plywood with a foil radiant barrier over the entire roof, including the garage. They completed the roof by laying top of the line, Owens Corning shingles. They also provided a double, high tech barrier between the shingles and the plywood. All of the aforementioned was completed within 4 days. I interviewed Rafi (Project Manager for Smart Roofing) after interviewing 2 other companies. Rafi was straight forward, to the point, knowledgeable and didn't provide me any BS. He quoted me a good price for my project. I went with him and was not disappointed. Additionally, Rafi had two teams that worked on my roof, A demo crew and an install crew. I spoke with the foremen from both crews "Pepe" and "Jose". Great leaders. He inspected my roof and provided me with an affordable and decent price. He gave the estimated price right on the spot; it was all written down. He broke everything down and how many days it would take for the job to be done. The materials they would be using would be top-notch. I like how they have a 10-year labor warranty and the material a lifetime by the manufacture. Best of all, I did like how they would not charge me extra on the wood. This part is tremendous, primarily due to the current supply shortage and fluctuating price of lumber. I had confided with Isaac that my biggest fear would be that the price would change while my roof was being worked on due to these lumber shortages. Isaac guaranteed me that would not happen. I found Smart Roofing here on Yelp, where I sent them a message at 9pm. Within minutes, they responded and we scheduled a meeting with Isaac the next day. I'm so glad that we went with Smart Roofing. A few things I appreciate about Isaac and his crew: * He and his crew were always on time and showed up when they said they would. * Isaac wrote the estimate right at our initial meeting. * The crew worked hard and were respectful of our property. They cleaned up at the end of each day and didn't make unnecessary commotion (compared to other contractors we've dealt with, who would leave their water bottles, trash, tools, and even their jackets overnight). * Isaac was responsive to calls and texts, answering right away. * He handled all the permits and inspections. * He wore a mask every time. * The roof was done quickly! They stripped the old roof on the first day. The second day was all about getting the city inspector to sign off and the suppliers to deliver the materials. On the third and fourth day, the crew applied the sheet layer and shingles. They finished around noon on the fourth day. * While waiting for another appointment, Isaac spent a couple of hours working on the roof along with the crew. I really appreciated that he wasn't just managing projects and selling bids, but was someone who knew how to actually do the work, too. He also fixed an issue with our vent to make sure it's completely sealed. They seriously made this whole roofing process a lot smoother than I expected. We were so stressed because the crazy winds damaged our old roof so much, and on top of that, we had a major rainstorm coming up. We felt like we were in good hands throughout it all. They responded quickly and the estimator went to the property where there is a roof leak. The proposal came back absurdly high, given I have one bid already and the area of proposed repairs by this vendor was not the leaking caused area which was completely replaced 4 years ago and has been inspected this year.
