In my opinion, if you are looking for a professional company that offers quality workmanship and excellent customer service, do not hire this company. We had the worst customer experience having them to add a 4 ft. paver block border around our existing patio. On the phone call with the rep, she told me a machine would be laying the bricks and it could have it done in a day. We agreed to hire them and put deposit of 1/2 down. The rep said they would come out on the following Monday and start. They ended up showing up the next day on Thursday afternoon, no knock on the door, no email/phone call from the rep, just walked in the back yard and started spray painting the lines and digging up the sod. Not a big deal that they started earlier than expected, but a heads up would have been nice. The next day they came back and started laying the pavers without the machine. I didn't think much of it and they proceeded to lay the pavers. When they were finished they were cleaning up and took the extra sod and cut bricks, threw them in a wheel barrow and proceeded to dump the extra sod and bricks in back of my yard behind the fence (I didn't realize this until the next day). The finished product had uneven lines, different size cuts so the herringbone pattern didn't really look professionally done. I talked with the rep to voice my displeasure; she said she saw what I was talking about and asked what would be fair to fix this. I offered to give us a $500 credit and clean up the debris they threw on the side of my yard. She passed this on to her boss, David S., and he responded by saying it was excessive to ask for that. I sent him pictures and an explanation of my discontent. I also offered for him to come out and take a look at the project. His response was saying he would send a crew to "remove the pavers" because all I was doing was looking for something for free. He also said he was "done emailing" and a crew would be there "tomorrow" to remove the pavers. So instead of trying to address the issues, he shut down communication and threatened to "take his ball and go home." I did respond that I didn't want anything for free, but I did expect professionalism and for them to acknowledge that the work was not up to par and to remove the debris from the back of my yard. They may want to change their "mission statement" that states "Our Mission To Give Our Clients Value Through Quality Products, Engineering And Workmanship..." -this was not the case in this situation and there was no response to fix it. We did end up paying the full quoted price, after we made sure they cleaned up the debris they dumped at the edge of our property, but they did not address any of the other issues of the finished product.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! OR Smart Scapes LLC or Day Drinking Properties LLC I couldn't recommend…read morea company less. David was completely rude and disrespectful from the beginning. Our turf has started sinking in many places, has ruined our fence, and we can't get the company to fix it. I have seen many comments about how he talks poorly to people and I couldn't agree more. We contacted him to fix our turf that was within our warranty. He just simply won't return any calls or messages. He has sent mean text messages to my wife and I, completely unprofessional, and down right rude. If you try to reach him multiple times he will tell you that you're harassing him. When literally all we have done is try to see when he can come fix our turf and he is trying to get out fixing it for us. He then followed up by texting me 12 times and saying horrible things to me that were actually harassment. We paid for extended warranty for two years and we're just trying to have somebody come out here to look at what was happening. If it was covered under warranty or not, we were happy to pay, but he would not even come out here. We had Goat Turf come and fix it and had to repay for the whole entire thing. I am so happy with that company and they let us know that it was the worst job they've ever seen done. They said that smarter scapes had installed the Turf backwards in some areas, used the wrong rocks, had it secured it in the ground properly, hadn't done the borders properly, and about five other things were wrong. I know a lot of people have already reached out to me with issues they've had with this company so feel free to reach out to me if you were having issues with the owners as well. I'm happy to discuss suggestions! The photos below are when the other company came to fix and remove the turf and all the areas it was ruined.

Back in March, I put a quote request through the yelp guarantee and had a couple people, including Nashville yardscapes, come out and give me quotes. Nashville was about $700 to $800 less expensive so being on a tight budget with all the other projects, and the Yelp recommendation, I went with them. After waiting a little while I finally received my estimate which was on a word document not even company letterhead. But I didn't care because that's kind of a small aspect. Peyton came out and we did a walk around in my backyard, he did not take any measurements. Went off of my approximates(again because I'm a landscaper right lol)but I drew a pretty elementary diagram of where the builder stopped sodding my backyard and where my patio is going to go with the area I wanted sodded marked SOD. (See pics) Fast-forward a couple days and the sod arrived and then I got an email from Peyton indicating he was unable to come out that day and start the job because of car issues and asked me to water the sod in my driveway. No problem and the second day same issue, then another issue when the tilling unit was ordered at the wrong Home Depot. I ended up watering the pallets of sod in my driveway for almost a week before the job was started. I said to my wife, I don't do landscaping, (i do now...lol) but looking at the sod in the driveway I know that's not gonna to be enough to do the backyard. Again, I come back to any professional taking measurements for their jobs but i assumed he knew his craft. The company I hired to do my fence did as the company measured, as did the company i hired to lay my concrete slab. I told them how big I wanted it, but they still measured for accuracy and that wasn't done here. Two days later with the sod completely gone off the pallets I was asked how does it look and I said looks like you ran out of sod and rather than explain and trying to come to a solution, Peyton became a little argumentative and tried to put the blame on me for giving him bad measurements, walking away after I paod him saying I was trying to "nickle and dime him". . Again, it's not the customer's fault if something was misunderstood. And I reiterate, if the individual or company is professional, they still take the time and do the measurements themselves, I had to go out and buy two extra pallets of sod and I laid them myself over a couple hours. on an early Saturday morning. To echo what the prior poster said I too wonder if friends and family gave the stellar reviews or what happened? Please understand why would I hire someone to sod half of my backyard let alone leave the entire middle of my yard empty logically it makes no sense and it all comes down to miscommunication. The fact that he was walking away, saying I was trying to nickel and dime me literally was probably one of the more unprofessional amateur experiences I've ever had. no apologies or anything to try to resolve anything just stormed away, and that was it. No I'm sorry nothing. No this isnt a competitor either. Just take ownership rather than place blame on a customer lack of professionalism. As a former business owner you work toward resolve and a resolution not get mad about failure People make mistakes and not once did he say you know what I'm sorry I probably should've measured myself self. BE PROFESSIONAL!!! I guess the moral of the story is as a business owner. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the good of your company whether a new company or whether an old company to keep a customer happy whether you were in the right or whether you were in the wrong and if you don't, and if you get attitude And combative, good things, unfortunately don't come of it for the business. I understand everybody has an off day, we all do, but don't make excuses, own your errors. Resolve and correct things and just don't storm away because you disagree. And as I sit here and type this and wait for a response from yelp, I find out that my neighbor two houses down also has a huge issue now with Nashville yardscapes and the fence they installed over there. Sal i truly feel ya. Hopefully whatever issue you experience gets resolved. Yelp has been contacted....
