When something didn't seem like it was working right, a technician came out and took a look, made some adjustments, and answered all of my questions. We waited to see the final effects on the 2 month water bill from Glendale and all I can say is WOW! Hundreds of $$ and loads of water saved in 2 months! A little background: we live in a Huntington Beach condo. In 2021, we inherited my 86 year old mother in law's beautiful Glendale home upon her passing. We had (and still have) tons of work to do to catch up on decades of "inattention" so we focused on first things first. Until the phone rang around Thanksgiving and a neighbor reported water spraying all over the place, emergency. And, this came right after the water rationing announcements. We didn't even know where to find the sprinkler controls or how they worked. But we did know how to read Yelp reviews, which led us to Smart Sprinkler Repair. Kylie immediately understood our plight, and squeezed us into a cancellation as quickly as we could get there - a day or two. We met Brian and Greg (right on time and super respectful of our time at every turn). Our house is blessed with very old sprinkler pipes that were rusting the threads and making watering the plants very challenging. Discovered late afternoon that our sprinkler had been on for most of the day...we weren't home so didn't see it. Tried everything I knew how to do, ended up turning off main water to the house, unplugged the sprinkler system and turned it to OFF. This morning called Smart Sprinkler Repair and spoke with Anthony who calmed me down and ran me through some tests -- discovered that it's probably a valve problem... although he is booked and couldn't some, I am going to limp along with the instructions he gave me (and have my water back on) and see if I can wait for a week until he's available. We have a 17,000 sg feet garden, which originally was part of the native surroundings, and with a lot of steep hillside areas. Some of the existing sprinkles were on an automatic [Rachio] controller but many had to be started by turning on a faucet. The confusing existing collection of pipes and connections had been put in place over the course of some 60 years. I contacted Smart Sprinkler Repair to upgrade the system so I would not need to spend as much as 8 hours per week keeping the vegetation [such as ice plants, other low-water ground covers, rosemary, Korean grass, some natives, oleanders] alive by manual watering. Brian came over to look at the situation and gave a cost estimate, which was very close to the final bill. Over the course of two days Greg did a great job installing new and adjusting existing equipment. For example he changed the configuration of an impact sprinkler on a very steep hill [photo], which until then mainly had been watering the street. He installed a 16-zone Rachio Timer, and added 8 zones and controllers [photo]. This now controls both impact sprinklers as well as drip irrigation in three different areas of the garden. At the front of the house he installed a pressure regulator as the high pressure coming from the main water line had, in the past, broken the actuators [photo]. In addition to the great work (1) I felt at ease talking and dealing with them (2) There was a prompt response to emails- excellent communication (3) When they say the work is guaranteed they mean it.
