I have always had an amazing experience here. The staff is beyond lovely. The place is always clean. I never have to wait more than 10 minutes for my food, and that's when it's busy. The FOOD! This place is your average burger spot. It's not a big deal and its definitely a spot that I would be craving to come back too. As we were coming a couple was leaving and we heard them say "it'd f&$ked up" not knowing what they were referring to. When we went up to the register the cashier help us took our order. When she handed my receipt she gave us as well some type of prop with a number on it. When she handed to me I asked what was I suppose to do with it, she informed me that I need to place it on my table so that the server could know whose order belong to who. When I went to sit down I heard a worker yelling out number 37. After a couple of second she came to me and started barking on me on how she was calling out my number that why didn't respond. I told her that It was my first time here i didn't know how it works. She continue and told me that she's the only person bring out to food that when my 2nd Niger come out and I hear that number to just let them know we were 37. I continue and repeated myself and telling her it's my 1st time there. The cashier told all I had to do was place this on my table. I don't know how this works. She was rude! For no reason. Find a little come sense form my part was needed in which I did use, but when she was calling out 37 my husband had pointed out to her when he was getting his soda and after seeing where my table is at she decided to stop and continue to shout it out and make comments like "Damn people are just dumb or something in that nature" that's when she finally came over and barked at me. #1 I've haven't seen a smash burger before nor there is one anywhere else in this neighborhood #2 your new and recently open why not inform the customer how things work. Like I said it's not a place I would crave to go again. I'll stick to Shake shack that at least third line is worth waiting for. read more

Went to Smashburger today about 2:30 for a late lunch. Been here at this location approximately 10 times. Outdoor seating, clean restaurant and smart interior design. Had the classic smashburger large with extra patty (3 dollars more). Also used Coupon Sherpa app to save 2 dollars on meal! Cheeseburger was great! Hot, juicy, flavorfull with the crispy caramelized exterior that you can only get searing on a hot griddle. Staff is competent and friendly. I highly reccomend visiting this location for a great hamburger as it was meant to be made! Ample parking a bonus! read more

Horrible, horrible customer service at Gateway Mall location. I went to today for lunch. Ordered simple burger and fries. Twenty-five minutes later, no food. I asked to speak to manager. She came up front with a very bad attitude, didn't address me and just started giving me a refund. AWESOME!!!!! I was having such a bad day and this place completely turned it around. After having the worse shopping day i decided to stop for a bite and walked into this jem. I was a bit nervous because the line was kind of long but the lines moved quickly and it was well worth the wait. The woman that took care of me deserves a street with her name on it or something. She was very patient with mebecause I did not know what wanted, everything looked so good, very warm, and funny. I'm sure her name is Tony. The place is very clean and there was a spot for me to sit. Satisfied my craving and I appreciated the large selection of toppings, but it's nothing to write home about. The staff and manager should be proud of how well they work as a team. We sat at the 1st table, closest to the register, so I had a front row seat. The cut on their fries is really disappointing. Wow! this place slipped big time! Went back today after about a year of not coming here. What used to be a big juicy burger, now, barely covers the bun (and I ordered the large one). What used to be a juicy tasty burger is now dry and bland. They used to serve what seemed like a quality, handcrafted burger. Today, I got something that was slapped together with no concern for presentation, symmetry, flavor or anything else that makes a good burger. The tomatoes, onions and lettuce were on one half of the burger and kept falling off. The bun was slider-sized and DEFINITELY not intended for a burger you'd serve a normal sized human. I ordered their Smash sauce on the burger, and though I saw it, there wasn't enough of it to taste. They used to be very concerned about the whole experience. Now it seems that couldn't care less. And by some magic, two burgers, two sodas and a large order of fries was $26!!! This place is delusional if they think this food is worth that! McD's has a better burger. read more

It was my first time eating there, and I don't know why I didn't try a burger first, especially considering the fact that the toppings would've gone better with a burger. Little bit of a hit or miss on service and wait time. The last visit was particularly impressive. It was a Saturday night, late August and the place was packed. But I received great service at the register and when I returned to pick up my takeout order, everything was ready on cue and my delicious banana shake was chilling int he freexer all ready to go. The young lady even remembered to hit it with some whipped cream before handing it over to me. That attention to minor details and being intentional in providing good service are the type of things you dont learn.. you just have it... the crew on staff that night were ON IT! I really should give them a 2 star review because every time I come here with my bf he gets sick it's happened 3 times and I'm convinced the first time was a sabotage the lady messed up the order and we asked for it to be replaced they complained and then sent out something that looked like it had been sitting and we shouldn't have ate it I have a stronger stomach than him but even I got sick that time however I still come here alone sometimes when I'm shopping in area because their Brooklyn burger is delicious and the shakes are always made with care maybe they just don't like to serve me and him together because I get different service when I'm alone and that's not right. I have had great burgers and great service since they opened. The food is normally served hot and very delicious additionally the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Sometimes the fries come out oily, there's no excuse for that. The owner comes in from time to time and he is awesome!! Finally had the chance to go to this Smashburger; my first one was in New Hyde Park. The line was long, but I was given a menu by one of the servers so I could make my choice before reaching the register. Once I placed my order, it wasn't long before I received my food. Was also told about the Smashburger App which enables you to order your food from your phone and then walk in and pick it up! Great food, great service.
