I have been to this Burnsville location for many years. The service level has gone down over the past year. Staff turnover is high and the lack of customer service is obvious. Case in point: I asked the cashier if my coupon was accepted. He said yes. I walked to my table and noticed that it was not. I told the young kid that the coupon was not reflected in my final bill. He then said that the store no longer accepts the coupon. I asked him why would he say that it was accepted then. He said he did not. He was plain lying in front of my face. Smashburger is so good. Like SO good. I'm always so shocked at the quality and flavor for this fast casual burger place. I love that you can order online and completely customize your meal. I got the classic grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and also added their smash sauce. It's like a tangy mustard-Mayo mix and it's delish. I also love that you can get any burger on a gluten free bun. Best part of all is their smash fries. They are tossed in rosemary and sea salt and perfectly crispy. They aren't overly greasy and are my absolute favorite french fry. Hot tip - get the side of Brussel sprouts! Got about half an hour to wait? Then this is the place for you. I should have walked away when 3 people were ahead of me and due to social distancing I waited on the other side of door. When I got inside, I immediately saw the issue. Short staffing. Two cooks and cashier also had to bag orders, ring up sales and make shakes. Okay, I never thought I would review a chain burger joint, but I did stop in (Burnsville, MN) and tried their double Colorado burger with a side of smashed fries and was extremely impressed! The burger had so much flavor and after two "fancy restaurant" quality burgers I had the prior weekends before this past weekend, the Colorado burger blew them out of the water! It was buttery tasting, yet fresh throughout with all the ingredients added. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I did not find it to be too spicy, I actually desired just a little more spice, but nevertheless it was fine. The fries where fresh and well seasoned. The lady who took our order was friendly and recommended the double classic smash burger for $5 special so my mom jumped right on that deal. Honestly, she ate the burger without complaint so they must be doing something right at this place. I would return here for a burger and I hope the Colorado stays on the menu for some time as I would order it again for sure. We came here last week when we had to grab a quick bite to eat. Kent also spotted a buy one get one free coupon on slick deal, so we decided to try out this burger joint. The line at the ordering counter wasn't long, maybe 2 couples ahead of us but there was only 1 counter open and it took that lady longer than usual to get the line moving. Kent got the spicy jalapeño baja (he traded the pepper jack cheese with aged Swiss), I got the Twin cities smash (which was delicious- has grilled onion, cheese and fresh veges in it). Both were done really well. Burger wasn't too big, portion was perfect, and I like the small pieces of bacon/ onion on the bun). We also got the rosemary fries. Tasted good but you could see a layer of oil around each fry (poor drainage of the fry before they were served?) - the oil just made it too greasy to be good (that's why I gave this place 3 stars). My friend and I were looking for a good burger, we decided to try Smashburger as we've never had it before as we don't have them in South Dakota. We placed our order at 1:07pm on Sunday Aug 21. Several people came in and ordered as well. About 1:30 we started to notice customers were going to get a refund and leaving. After giving the workers the benefit of the doubt we stayed. 2:00 came and we still hadn't gotten our food. Finally my friend went up and asked how much longer it would be. The worker said probably another 25 min. We couldn't wait that long as we had a 5+ hour drive home yet. My suggestion if you are that short staffed turn off online ordering and handle customers as they walk in the door. You probably won't have to give as many refunds as we saw given. Our visit was awful starting from a long wait in a relatively short line, the manager working the register informing us we shouldn't expect to be able to have any order changes once he had entered them into the POS (and this was BEFORE we had even paid), there was a 20+ minute wait from receipt to food on the table, a filthy dining room that had just one table wiped off in the time we were there, the filthy drink station similarly received no attention during our visit, no lids available for to-go cups, used table numbers laying under tables, and a garbage that was a mess when we arrived that got no employee attention in our 45 minutes there. This review was inspired by an individual on a popular neighborhood app who also had a bad experience at this location. My wife and I love SmashBurger and have had wonderful experiences at SmashBurger locations all over the USA. This location in Burnsville by far was our worst experience and we will likely never go back. We have only been to this location twice within the last 3 years and both experiences were sub-par. Our most recent visit was approximately one year ago from this posting. We arrived and as we waited to order, the staff in the back were so busy joking / kidding around with one-another, it was extremely distracting as a customer, actually uncomfortable feeling to be there during this. Keep in mind... the staff were not interacting positively with customers, but rather comedically with other staff. Customers were obviously an afterthought. Extremely unprofessional and not the type of environment we trusted quality food to be made in. It's a shame not to remember a positive food experience due to employees who had absolutely no regard to the customers. Great meal! My family and I just stopped in and ordered our friends food. It was really fast. It was also really good. My wife and I had the smash burger classics. My daughter had a kids meal and my older 18 year old created her own. The man taking the order (manager name tag), made a mistake on my wife's order when he entered it. He apologized, corrected it as quickly as he could, and surprise! He removed that charge from our bill. The location is brand new. I would not stumbled on this place if it weren't the buy one get one free burger deal. We ordered like 6 different burgers and shared it among ourselves. I think we scared other customers because our tables were filled with nothing but burgers. All the burgers were made with fresh ingredients (see photo) and this seems to be the baseline of a good burger nowadays. I really like the jalapenos with the guacamole in the burger. While my friends rated the Colorado burger their favorite. My only complaint about the patties was that it didn't had an impact to my bite.
