Note to management- when your staff is off and out of uniform, they shouldn't be going in and out of the kitchen, behind the counter, helping themselves to things while the place is packed and customers have been waiting for 30 minutes for a burger. And especially hanging out at the order window leaning on the counter and smelling like he hadn't showered in a few days. People standing around waiting for their orders made faces and moved away. We lost our appetite from the stink. Sorry but just horrible. Won't be back. Sad thing is employees a really nice but a bad experience will kill that. read more

My daughter and I walked in to the Louisville, CO location at 9:15 tonight. A gentleman was walking out and said the guy inside is really irritated and threw my food and change at me. I kept walking and the guy behind the counter looked at me. I asked if they were still open. He said no they had already closed their grill and that orders take about 10 mins so they were closed. Please don't support this terrible terrible restaurant or this negligent company. The customer service is really bad. Many of the employees are extremely rude. The management has little to no experience. The food is either okay or it's really bad and actually inedible. Since Covid I've been harassed twice by other customers and the employees say they "can't do anything about it." I have 15 years of restaurant experience and I've never seen anything like what these people get away with. There are so many good family owned restaurants in Louisville and Lafayette. An error(s) filled experience 3/23/2017 5:35pm - had to give my to go order to the person twice - while waiting, a server brought half the order for dine in to a table I was waiting at, had to send it back asking for it to go (again) - one burger that was ordered lettuce wrapped had a bun even though the receipt showed "no bun, lettuce wrap" - one of the salads was missing dressing - tried to give feedback via Smash Burger website. First time at a smash burger. I got the classic burger and a bacon/cheese burger, a large smash fries and two shakes. The total came to about $25, which is quite pricey. The burger was great. Fries fine. Shakes very good. Food comes out quickly. The location and clean and efficient. Not sure it's worth the cost, but a decent splurge once in a while. read more

Historically I have had decent experiences at Smashburger but this location is not worth a visit. Staff was on their phones and could care less there was a customer, and I was the only one! Burger was a mess with toppings all over the place, tots and haystack onions were cold and greasy, very small serving and not worth eating. The day before opening to the public, Smash Burger sent email invites to participate in a sneak peak of the restaurant. Upon arrival our names were checked off on the guest list. We were allowed to order one entree, one side, and a drink as gratis per person. There was also the opportunity to try sample shakes served the entire day to visiting patrons. As always, smash burger served the best shoe string and sweet potatoes fries. The BBQ bacon cheddar burger is always difficult to pass up, which both the BF and I ordered. The salad bowls ordered by other folks look amazing, and is something I must remember to order next time. Crowd was great, not as busy as expected, and food was served fast. I was always a big fan of Smash, and am so happy one is closer in proximity. read more

I'm not a fan of shoestring fries, but I don't think that's something they can change. I do not recommend the spicy buffalo fries, though, definitely go with the smash fries. Excellent smash burger today. I had the brussels sprouts to go with it on the side and they were fantastically cooked. This place is a really great place for a hamburger and definitely so much better than all the other burger places like McDonald's or Wendy's or whatever. This smash burger isn't close to me but I'm a fan so I've stopped in a couple times when I'm in the neighborhood. In my experience so far, the food is just as good as any other location and the staff has been super friendly. Last time I was in they made one small error with my order and the girl behind the counter was very apologetic and took care of it right away. Chocolate malt anyways hits the spot too. read more

I have ordered take out from this location twice now and both times the sides are insanely small for the price and have been cold as soon as we received the order. This time the haystack onions were absolutely disgusting. They must have been sitting on the bottom of a fryer because they completely soaked the container they came in and you could barely pick them up. For a $4 side the tiny box was only half full. Total waste of money. I'll never order food from here again. For $35 the food was worse than Wendy's. read more

One Star for customer service since we didnt get to try the food since they closed the kitchen early and didnt want to serve the line of people. Everything else closes at 9pm so being the only restaurant open later, wouldn't you expect last minute customers and want to serve your community? They close at 930pm and we walked in at 9:05 with two groups ahead of us and maybe 2 more walked in right behind us. Chairs were up on tables already. They told the family ahead of us they were not taking anymore orders. The cashier looked frustrated at the customers in line, she was not polite. Then a boy came out and said they cant take anymore orders. You are open to 930, that means you are open to serve! He said it would take 30 minutes to prepare orders and families in line said they were ok with that and he said no, because the orders would come out after 930 and they close at 930. So rude. They should have put a sign on the door or locked the door if they didnt want anymore customers coming in. FYI, Mcdonalds drive through is luckily open until 11pm. McD staff is very polite even in the middle of a remodel. FYI, the eateries in the same strip as Smash still had customers seated at tables even though they closed at 9pm. read more

We decided to go here for lunch on Friday, the guy taking our order didn't listen to our requests and didn't even type in our order correctly after we tried correcting him. We decided to order shakes with our food and when they came out we didn't get the metal cups, we asked why and we're told that they weren't doing that right now.. they're we're two other parties with the metal cups. After we got the rest of our order we realized that it was incorrect and decided to not make a fuss and instead just ask for a new bun to fix it. It took another twenty minutes to get a bun. After we left we noticed that they double charged us for an item. The employees working to serve and clean the tables weren't doing a very good job especially with the Coronavirus outbreak. They had a sign that informed customers that they were taking extra precautions to prevent customers from getting sick, after dining there it's obvious that some employees aren't taking that seriously. read more

This is going to be a saga. I signed up for yelp specifically so I could tell the tale of how incompetent, rude, and disgusting this place is. Visited today 3/14/2017, at 1pm. All employees there should, frankly, be fired, along with management, along with literally everyone who has ever tried to work in this demon's pit of a SmashBurger. And I love SmashBurger! There's one near my ex-boyfriend's home that is excellent that I love. So I thought, hey, a SmashBurger near my mom's house! That's great! 1) The line was ages. The only cashier there seemed to be having some trouble understanding the teen boys in front of us- we attributed it to the boys being in Colorado, and not firing on all cylinders. 2) We get to the front of the line- the cashier is rude, interrupting, and cannot grasp the concept of two people ordering three burgers to go. (It's almost as though we had someone else at home who wanted a burger too!) Turns out, the cashier was the one with no grasp on reality. She kept reminding us to "do our survey!!!!!" while ignoring the words coming out of my mouth about what I would like to eat, please. 3) The cashier could not understand our orders. She was confused on every single point. 4) We wait 30 minutes for 3 burgers and 3 shakes, with 1 order of fries. Customers who came after us were getting food. 5) Food is cold. 6) Shakes come out, and we ordered: One (1) chocolate malt, one (1) chocolate shake, one (1) oreo shake. This is, apparently, harder than quantum mechanics for the morons who run this place, as we got one (1) chocolate shake, and two (2) oreo shakes. I point out that one of the shakes that is oreo needs to be chocolate. The manager, who is slow, unable to comprehend what I am saying, and overall resentful of his entire existence (apparently), has the following conversation with me: "Well, you have one chocolate, and two oreo." "Yes, but I need two chocolate, and one oreo." [he wanders off, then gets the tickets for our order, because the cashier printed three tickets for one order. I have never worked fast food, as I am in nursing school, but I can't imagine that is efficient.] "Okay, so this first ticket says oreo. There's an oreo." "Yes." "This ticket says chocolate. There's a chocolate." "Yes." "This ticket says chocolate. There's a chocolate." "No, that's an oreo." ^^^ Repeat the above three times before the manager accepted that I, in fact, ordered two chocolate shakes. He remade the shake. 7) In the meantime, we checked all of our burgers. My mother's was wrong. Crispy chicken instead of grilled. I point this out. We had a new burger in moments, thankfully! I suspect time dilation, as 30 minutes were required the first time. We were told no bun means we get lettuce, no matter what, and he asked if I wanted no lettuce. I told him it doesn't matter, as apparently 'no lettuce', 'grilled chicken', and 'chocolate shake' are beyond the comprehension of mankind as concepts. 8) We take our cold food home, because my uncle was starving and didn't want to complain for hot food. 9) Uncle's chocolate shake tastes like melted plastic- smelled off. Disgusting, inedible. 10) Smash fries were, in no way, shape, or form, smash fries. I have had many smash fries in my life. These were bitter, way salty, and soggy. My God. My good God. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. Burgers- apparently the most complex undertaking mankind has ever done! read more

By far one of the dirtiest restaurants I've ever been in. The tables clearly hadn't been wiped off after previous customers. There were no trash cans in site so customers just left their treys/trash on the tables, which employees just walked by and didn't clean up. I watched an employee deliver food multiple times, she clearly saw the trash on 4+ tables yet she just left it. It was honestly embarrassing to look at. Management needs to step up. Also the guy at the register was less than helpful. I've never written a review but after my experience, I actually took the time to download yelp and write a review. read more

I like their food a lot--but they once gave me a meat burger after I ordered black bean burger--and they are ALWAYS slow.

I like the food at Smash Burger and usually go to the ones in Boulder and Longmont with no issues. This was my first time visiting this location and I was completely shocked at how horrible the entire experience was! First of all, they need to hire more help because the dining room was probably half full of customers and the other half was dirty tables that needed to be bussed. They had one guy working the register and a girl running food and making milkshakes. I say watching in horror as food piled up under the heat lamps and literally sat there for up to 20 minutes. But the employee s showed absolutely zero.sense of urgency. Couldn't believe how slow she moved! Watched a bunch of customers get pissed off. She finally brought our food out minus my daughters and said she would be right back then proceeded to dissapeer for another 10 minutes. Then she returns and starts doing online orders for people who werent even there yet! So I go up to the counter and ask if I could plz have my kids food that had been sitting there forever and she rudely shoves it at me. Needless to say all of our food was cold and disgusting. I've been coming 2x a week for over a month now (great location near my work) EVERY time food is delicious! Especially compared to other smash burgers... My faith in smash burger was restored at this location. I always come at lunch hour and it's always good and with the amount of people I feel they do a good job; I get my food within a reasonable time. Always looks fresh. One time we waited about 45 mins obviously that was a problem and they gave everyone 5$ off coupons... I appreciated it and recognize its not the norm as I come weekly. read more
