I'm quite disappointed with this place. The veggie and vegan options - all have the main ingredients as stir fried veggies, and they ran out of veggies at around 1pm on a weekend.. we went there with friends and just settled for whatever they can put in our dishes. The staff wasn't able to clearly communicate what the issue was when they veggies were over - at a point we thought if we'd wait they could just make more veggies how hard could that be right ?? Chipotle does that - fresh batch of veggies. But No! This place won't have veggies until Monday and it was a Saturday. I'm almost not believing that somehow ... I'm surprised why won't they make fresh batch of veggies ? I prefer to order from my table and be served at my table. So anyway we placed our order at the counter and carried it back to our table. My wife ordered shredded beef enchiladas with pintos and rice. I ordered grilled steak enchiladas with pintos and rice. Neither one of us thought the rice was all that great. We were pleasantly surprised at the rest of the meal. That was quite a bit of food and the taste was really delicious. We'll be back another day. read more

What a joke!! I frequent Chipolte, Q'Doba, and Cafe Rio and typically get a bowl. This is the size bowl you get at Costa Vida compared to a bowl at ANY OTHER Mexican place. And it's $11. Kinda pricey as is but when you are getting half of what you would elsewhere it definitely does not make going to this restaurant worth it. If you are smart restaurant consumers I would HIGHLY recommend taking your money to any company that is willing to actually give you what you pay for. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I'm a regular customer of this place for taco Tuesday. I really love their chicken. No weird pieces of fat or gristle. Their tortillas are thick and made fresh. I find their food quality better than Qdoba and Chipotle. I am always friendly to the service, and the service is always friendly back to me. Highly recommend. read more

Ate here once, thought it was okay and then gave it a second chance. I think that's enough chances as the food is mediocre and the service is poor. It's another version of Chipotle with a few wrinkles, one of which is offering to smother your burrito (at a decent up charge I'm guessing although I didn't opt for it). As other reviews mention the service isn't good. Like, they have a handful of salsas and other ingredients that aren't labeled or listed on the menu, but when I asked what they are they just mumbled really quickly and I didn't feel much more informed. It seems they're trying to rush you through the process as quickly as possible, although both times I was here there was nobody else in line. Especially frustrating is at the far end of the bar they have some ingredients (e.g., cilantro and onions) that I wanted to add inside my burrito but before I could say so they'd wrapped my burrito and stuck it in the oven. Now the oven thing is a good idea and obviously ensures your burrito is hot. And the taste is decent, nothing special and about what I'd expect from a Chipotle knock-off. BUT, both times my burrito completely fell apart a few bites in, requiring a fork to eat it. Lastly, they give you your burrito in a plastic container big enough to hold like 3 burritos. I could understand it if you get your burrito smothered but if not, why not just wrap it in foil? It would help keep it warm, prevent it from falling apart, and not generate a ton of waste. Absolute worst experience in a very long time. Literally did not get a single meal correct of our $50 order. This location has always been bad but this was the final straw for us. Our first mistake was ordering online where it never mentions how many items they are out of and that they would be closing two hours early. The employees were obviously use to giving bad service because when I asked about the guacamole I was charged extra for, she never offered a refund or any substitutions. DO NOT GO to this location. Drive the extra 2 miles to Cafe Rio on 120th and have a much better experience. read more

This has got to be one of the worst Costa locations in Colorado. I did an email survey and said my issues with the location and never heard from anyone when I asked to be contacted back. Today I placed an online order at 11am and they said it would be ready by 11:15. When I came in at 11:20 it still wasn't ready. 5 minutes later they finally told me that there is only red sauce available even though I ordered green. I didn't get my order until after 11:30 and I had to change it from a burrito to a Baja bowl because the ingredients they were out of. I did get 15% off but I already paid online. Every time I place a mobile order at this location they don't prepare the food until I walk up to the counter and ask for it. On numerous occasions they have forgotten to make my order or "lost" my order. It is becoming increasingly frustrating to dine at this location. For quality Costa Vida that is always clean, timely and professional go to the Arvada location. read more

But then I tried my sister's pork enchilada; even sweeter. Not my cup 'o tea. The food was fresh and the tortillas were homemade, but it lends itself to the question of why? I just didn't get it. I tried to pay with $100 bill and she said they dont accept it which i understand because its a fast food restaurant but she was so rude about it. Food is good, but they usually have difficulty listening to instruction. If it's snowing, raining, windy or the sun is too bright they close early. Save yourself the headaches. It's too bad the service is so terrible because the food is really good. read more

Let me start off by saying, I do not normally post reviews, good or bad, but felt compelled to do so tonight . . . Been a long day! I have been driving past Costa Vida for awhile now. Just got off work, did not have time to get lunch, so decided to try them out. Ordered through Door Dash. My order arrived in a timely manner but was not correct. Called Costa Vista they said because they i order through Door Dash they could not refund my money but would remake and deliver the order to me. ReOrder was delivered in timely manner, but as the driver was leaving she stated, in not a nice way, we don't normally deliver. I told her the issue was not mine or Door Dash's screw up but theirs. She did not reply and just got in her car and drove away. Very disappointed in not only their customer service but the quality of their food. They need to change the name of their refried beans to "refried bean soup". Needless to say first and last time I will be ordering from Costa Vida in Westminster CO. Great little shop for mexican food. They have daily specials that rotate so you can have a different thing every day and still be a bit thrifty. Portions are pretty hefty as well with almost all the options coming with rice, beans, sauce, salsa, and toppings. I dropped by for a quick snack and left absolutely stuffed! While we were eating last night, the owner actually sat down next to us and asked us about our experience and talked to us for a bit. That's pretty impressive that a chain owner takes the time out of his day to sit down with customers and get their individual feedback. read more

I was so excited to have more lunch options when Costa Vida opened across the street from my work! This place seems to have a Baja atmosphere and it's mix between Illegal Pete's and Cafe Rio. When I met my husband during my lunch break, we split the enchalidas. They let us pick different meats for each enchalida which was really awesome of them. I came another time with my coworker and had the pork salad which was equally as good. Also, they offer a point system from the Costa Vida App. Every 50 points earns $4. Bonus! The downside is that it is more expensive than other places. When compared to establishments such as illegal petes, cafe rio or chipotle, this place doesn't really stand out. As one my co-workers said, "it's a step up from Taco Bell!" There is definitely a convenient factor for me as it's located within walking distance from my work. read more

We placed a to go order and live 30 minutes away and when we got home our sweet pork nachos didn't have ANY meat or the added guacamole and the smothered chicken burrito with double meat had ZERO meat and also didn't have guacamole. Second visit today. We left packed Renegade Burrito right down the street because the line went out the door. Pleasantly surprised this restaurant was empty. But both times the service was on the rude side. Tiny meat portion, then when my wife asked for a little more (i e. normal portion) the rudish lady said it cost extra. Now we know why it's packed at Renegade Burrito and not here. 4 stars for the food and drink quality. But 0 for the service. We'll wait in the long line down the street next time. read more

Stopped in here for lunch today on a whim. Pretty dead at 1pm on a Saturday. Service was quick, the food was pretty good. My husband got shredded beef enchiladas - the beef was surprisingly sweet (he would say a little off-putting). I just thought the flavor was weird. I got the special - green chile burrito. I actually thought mine was pretty good, though you don't realize how much you appreciate Chipotle's attempt to "mix" the content of your burrito before wrapping it until you have a burrito with very distinct layers of rice, beans, meat, etc. Not the end of the world. Since mine was on special, I'm pretty sure it was only like $7 and came with a drink. It was a nice size - good value, as was my husband's. I think in total lunch cost us $21. Decent food. No wait. Nice price. I wouldn't say it was anything special. Which came first - the Costa Vida or the Cafe Rio? (they're the exact same business model) I will say, freshly made tortillas are key. The biggest thing that is keeping me from giving them more stars is that it was INSANELY hot in the restaurant. It was 90° outside with no breeze, I don't know why they had the doors open. I was excited about the idea of this place but the reality was not great. Ordering was a little confusing and the staff seemed baffled by the idea that my mom didn't want a tortilla under her "salad." They put it there anyway. I had to ask for almost everything in my burrito because nothing was explained or offered. We didn't even know they had salsas until after we paid because no one mentioned them and they were only listed on a very small sign near the register. Everyone was nice enough, but it seemed like they just didn't get enough training. None of that would've been a dealbreaker but the food was SO mediocre. The enchilada sauce tasted like someone dumped a bucket of chile powder in ketchup water and microwaved it. The quesadilla was the saddest thing I've ever seen. This is our family's Sunday staple for post-church lunch. The line is never very long, and they have one of the best kids meals in town: a quesadilla, rice, beans, a drink and a cinnamon crispy. My four year old LOVES this place and the whole vibe is very cool and laid back. The food though, is what really makes it: I am obsessed with their sweet pork, and find myself craving it on a regular basis, as well as their queso. The nachos are out of this world, and the fresh tortillas are delicious. The staff here is also really well-trained. In our area, there is a lot of turn over at the restaurants, so it's nice to see the same people working here again and again. They seem to be happy to work here, and the managers are very nice as well. Overall, I think this is really the best you could experience for Mexican food under 10 bucks in this truly buzzing suburb. read more

I ordered a $25 meal today and got two sweet pork salads and two things of queso. Our queso was extremely watery and did not have any thickness at all. The meat at the bottom of our salad was not shredded enough and extremely juicy. We usually come in and enjoy their salads very much but this time it was not good. If I could leave zero stars I would. We called this store at 6:15pm Sunday, December 19th and asked what time they were open until. They said 7pm (even though their website said 8pm. We go here all the time and like their food. We got to the restaurant at 6:30pm and there were several people wanting to get in. Their doors were closed but there were people inside sitting and eating. I called again and spoke with a woman and asked why the doors were closed. They said "sorry, we will open the doors". Another woman came outside and said "sorry, we are having a private party" which was a LIE! When one of the couples exited I asked and they said there was NO private party. Many, many people came up to the door and tried to get in in the few minutes we were there. I called Costa Vida Corporate Offices and hope to get a call back tomorrow. They need new management desperately! We went to Chipotle across the street and they were fabulous! They will get ALL of our future business. Please don't support this lousy business. There is no way they can be around much longer conducting business this way. read more
