Ordered online they said the order was ready for pickup and when we showed up they notified us that a burger on their menu wasn't available and we needed to choose a different burger. This would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could change the order and grab and go like we planned. I came here with my boyfriend for the first time on Saturday June 29th at 11:19 am.. and the Manager Marima was on duty. This was the worst experience I have ever had with costumer service. First Marima had the attitude like she didn't even want to be there.. I was asking her what shakes were dairy free because the menu kind of was confusing on the shake section and she had a rude response as if I was bothering her.. Then when my boyfriend ordered his double bacon burger she misheard and rang up a classic double. When he looked at the receipt he noticed his burger didn't say anything about bacon so he went back to let Marima know that she rang him up for the wrong burger and if he could just order 2 sides of bacon to just make it easier..she then began to go back and forth with him saying that's not what he ordered then she proceeded to say it's $8 for 4 pieces of bacon which he still payed for and only got 2 pieces.. she was also very belligerent and continued to argue with my boyfriend saying he didn't know what he ordered while she was making our shakes causing her to spit in our shakes and spill most of it. When we just asked for a refund because at this point we didn't even want the food she refused our refund and closed the door in my boyfriend's face. This place is really cool! Smashburger is amazing! It is my first time here and I really want to visit again soon when I got some free time. This place deserves a 5-star! All of their staff is really nice and friendly. The way they treat all of the customers really impresses me. They keep the whole place organized and well-maintained. They all know how to do their job properly. Also, the managers are so nice and professional. They are willing to assist the customers all the time. The lines at the front are aligned and organized. They know how to manage the customers even at busy hours. No wonder why a lot of people giving this place very nice feedback and most of their old customers keep coming back here over and over. This was my first ever attempt at eating a smash burger . I usually go to Shack Shack, we thought we would try some place new. Firstly my husband had the dairy free vanilla shake and he said it was delicious. The service was lacking due to only one person to take orders, work the register , buss the dine in tables and make milk shakes ! She was very courteous,but split 5 ways ! As we drove home I ate the fries because I do not like cold fries. The first and each fry in the order were rubbery. My wife's bean burger would have been better if we bought frozen from Jewel and cooked it at home. My experience at Smashburger was pretty disappointing, I had my grandsons all excited earlier in the morning about spending the day at the Children's Museum and then having lunch at Smashburger. I will say the staff was really nice, the problem I felt was they are way understaffed and couldn't handle the lunch crowd. The food was delivered one plate at a time by the overworked cashier. Great food, but a horrible buisness. I ordered 2 shakes, 3 smash burgers, 2 fries and 2 gator tots. They told us they had no shakes so I asked for the refund and was able to get it. After making the order online an hour before hand, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes (when nobody is even there). Then we finally got our order and looked in the bag to see no tater tots. The lady didn't even let me know they were out and just gave the bag. I went back up to the register and no one was there so I went to the back to find somebody. Decided to stop in here since it was lunch time, I was in the area and I hadn't had a blackbean burger in awhile. It was around 1:00pm and I stopped to dine in and ordered a blackbean burger, onion drinks and a drink. My first surprise was the bill, just over $18 and change! I don't recall ever spending even close to $18 for a fast food lunch for myself. Anyway I took my cup and filled it then sat down at one of their tables and decided to go to the restroom to wash my hands. There are two restrooms side by side and they are both unisex. I chose to use the one closest to the kitchen. Immediately upon entering the restroom. I was hit with an overwhelming stink of weed, along with some type of deodorizer ( I would guess in a poor attempt to mask that disgusting smell). No one else had come in or walked out of the restroom in the few minutes I was there. In fact, I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time of the incident. As a paying customer, I expect a clean and inviting atmosphere when I go to dine out and yes that includes the facilities in the business as well. The manager of this store should be aware of the activities of not only its customers but it's employees as well and any issues that could affect customer satisfaction should be immediately addressed and corrected. Anyway, gave it a try and we must have caught staff on a good day because we liked it. Three of us dined ... two had Classic Smash - one c sweet potato fries and one with regular fries, other party had Classic Big Smash with Smash fries. Two chocolate shakes and a Goose Island Matilda rounded out the fare...$38.40 for the table. The hits were the fries...the Smash fries had a hint of rosemary and olive oil that made them subtle. Sweet potato fires were very good - just enough crisp to them...usually sweet potato fries are soggy but these were not. Reg fries were just that. All the fries were of the thin stick type. Hamburgers were good if a bit greasy...but what did we expect. Hamburgers were salty and had a lot of calories but were very tasty. Done perfectly and served hot and fast. The Classic Big looked the same size as the Classics so I would get a regular next time. Hamburgers come with what they call Smash Sauce on the bun - sort of a mix of mayonnaise and mustard...pretty good. This storefront operation was within walking distance of the Metra train station in Oak Lawn, and was clean and bright inside. Staff was friendly and attentive for a fast food hamburger joint. This place reminded me so much of Fat Burger in Orland Park, but without the negatives. Fat Burger had a great hamburger - better than Smash - but they ran the place into the ground. This place really has potential. It kind of annoys me that they always seem to screw something up. I live within walking distance of this place and I almost never come here. I ordered a side of fried pickles. What I received was a HALF FULL container of fried pickles literally swimming in a pool of grease. 2.
